Thanks Flappie for taking the time to reply and your advice, however, I think I broke it myself. I run 2 NVME 2TB SSD drives and recently thanks to Alienware's crap Command Centre that controls the lights etc on my PC, had to reinstall Windows. DCS was on the second drive and i thought i would be safe, obviously i was not. Fresh install and all good now.

Could some kind sole explain what is happening here, i have obviously changed something. because i get these random graphic glitches on random objects every flight. As an example next flight on the F18 the belly tank will be displayed correctly but the rest of the model like the Viking will be green and black

Do not know what I did but my default cockpit view (the one where you press 5)or start in has changed to me staring at the gear lever in the F-18. Could anyone advise how I return it to the default view please. Many thanks.

Update, installed a module and things are slightly better. Getting 60 - 70 Mbps and as low as 40 Mbps, but it is all over the shop no steadiness at all.

Just about to ask the same thing. Last few updates I have seen great download speeds of a steady 100Mbps which is the max my NBN connection will go. Today I updated and it crawled along, lucky to get over 2Mbps. Is there an issue with the servers or did you sell the new one you obviously have been using? :)

Just updated the beta version and cant log into the game, repeatedly telling me invalid user name or password. I can log onto the site fine. Anyone else??

Most gaming forums i have read or used are heavily infested with those that know better players, and serial apologists for the publishers. Comes with the territory i guess. Just ignore the forums and play the game.

Will do but it late here (I am in Canberra, Australia) Will attach the new load log without it and then reinstall the Viggen, and attach the new load log tomorrow, if that is ok with you. The in game load times seem quicker as well without it but that just may be me. Again many thanks for your help, 30 years ago i could cope, now i am lost lol.

Uninstalled the AJS37 module, load time straight down to 30 seconds. I am no Sherlock Holmes but i am guessing that was the problem child :)

Thanks Flappie, I just finished reinstalling Windows and had forgotten about the page file. I got great internet so may just do a full reinstall instead of the back up copy i used of DCS.

I know this has been discussed before but the issue appears to be back after the latest update unless i have a setting wrong somewhere. Fully tricked out PC, boot up DCS and the little DCS window appears and then sits there for 30 seconds with no activity on my SSD. Then my SDD decides its not it is not on strike anymore and loads the game. Total load time about a minute. Is that normal? Thank you.

Well said but sadly for some on this forum, you will burn in hell for reminding them it is a game designed to entertain. I support early access but only because i assume that is all they can afford to provide at that time and they need funds to go further. It is how early access it is with each module is the concern for me. F-16 was nowhere near the level the F-18 provided on initial release being one example.

But if we do not report them, how will they know what needs fixing? Why would you want a bug to filter down and break the stable version before reporting it?

Beta? Sorry you have lost me. Unless i missed something I paid for early access to a module that for me has had problems introduced with each update. A module that was also advertised with "Dynamic carrier radio communications for Case I, Case II, and Case III recoveries." I have reported those comms are no longer working as they were, in i believe, the correct section of the relevant forum. Advising me not to use Beta is a most odd response. Are we not allowed to report bugs and should just keep quiet?

Nice job ED, the first update screwed up the lighting, the latest screwed up the comms. Now the last call i get is a check in acknowledgement when i announce platform on a case 2 or case 3 recovery, seriously great job. What are you planning to break next in your next now delayed updates "So you can fix things"

Exactly what i came to report as not being fixed (and a game breaker for me as you cant have any other aircraft on the deck at night) in the latest update. Just huge blobs of white and red for me. Surprised it has not been addressed. Fix the basics for me before you delve deep into the mechanics of FA18 electronic warfare. Before anyone says it, it has nothing to do with Gamma, the lights were fine until the first update that contained changes to the SC, that update broke them.

Re Gamma settings I have tried letting Nvidia control the settings and the Sim itself, and changing settings in both modes, with no success. The lighting was fine both in module and game for me up until the first carrier update, that broke it.

Agree that the lighting is terrible at night. For me if there are aircraft on deck all I see is great blobs of red lights from i presume there Nav Lights until about 1/2 mile out when a lit but very dim landing area finally appears. I'm also fed up of getting rammed on deck by errant AI aircraft but that is another issue.

Your always going to get folk that don't use them claiming you cant game on a laptop. You can, but it needs to be a decent one and you need to make sure it has a good cooling solution. I would also only install DCS on a SSD,

AI being their usual dumb stupid selves, like others i only use them well away from me. I check back now and then to see if they are still as stupid, apparently they still are! :music_whistling:

Started for me after the first carrier update, this is not as bad as the red lighting "blooms" issue though, nearly impossible for me to fly in the dark now.

I did a Case 3 and followed ATC's instructions and Approach time. Landed and then got rammed by a landing AI aircraft before i had chance to get the hook up! I can only assume that the AI aircraft are programmed to fly a planned route regardless of what is happening around them and that they are not linked to the new ATC system. There crazy antics on decks of ships or on airfields such as taxying like they are in a F1 car, taxying through static objects and getting way to close or even hitting you was happening well before the arrival of the SC module.
