    Finally got mine working... idiot operator error as usual. @cercata any possibility of adding the DCS P47? It's the only aircraft I fly unfortunately.

    I don't have that plane, so I can't test it ...

    You can edit the Sim2bHap.ini, and add the P47, you can use the P51 as base, copy/paste, rename, and change the max speed.

    The *Threshold parameters, you can change them also to your taste, if you want the vibration to start sooner or later.

    If you put several * before the name, it will be the first one in the list.

    [***DCS_P-47]
    activeSim = DCS
    speedThreshold = 75
    rpmThreshold = 98
    maxSpeed = ???

    hmm, it tells me "Grabing config ...DCSBHap started", Sim: DCS, IP 127.0.0.1, Port 4125, status green, Preset: DCS_F18. Log says "no fresh telemetry data". When I hit "Stop", bhaptics tells me "Client disconnected", when I hit "Run", bhaptics player tells me upon connection "client disconnected"...

    "DCS_To_bHap.lua" is in ...\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Hooks\ of course.

    Hey, sorry, didn't know someone was interested in using it ... I forgot about this.

    if you could sniff UDP traffic on port 4125 with wireshark, I will know if it's a problem with the .lua or with my Script. I'll test it today to see if it works with the last version, didn't use it with DCS for months.

    Sometimes there is another folder for the .lua files, DCSBeta instead of DCS.

    does the vest bother you to fly long sesions >1hr flight time?
    are you coding yourself the app to read DCS telemetry and sending effects to the various shakers accordingly?

    Y endure very long sessions, 2 3H sessions with a pause for eating something. Not confortable, but it's like if a was wearing a anti-g suit 😉
    But a friend says he can't endure it, that it destroys his back in minutes.

    The Lua Script for porcesing the telemetry I copied the one from FlyPT Mover, and then Y proces the info, and send the effect to the bHaptics API. It's Open Source, it's all there

    I recently got a bhaptics vest and would love to get it set up with dcs but ive found 0 info on how to even attempt it. since it doesnt require audio to work with games this is a promising platform I just dont have the skills to set it up. platform seems pretty open though if someone did have the knowledge I would happily test it out

    Still interested in testing ? I just added DCS support to my tool:

  5. You are very inspiring Pikey !!!!!

    I didn't like the Spitfire, too easy to stall, but now with the AoA haptic feedback I'm starting to love it. Mi implementation is not very accurate, but it's enougth to be usefull. At the moment I can feel high speeds, hihg AoA, high RPMs and high G's.

    What I'm missing now is lateral forces. For G's I take into acount the total one, not the vertical one, and I ignore the direction. The Vest has 40 vibrating points, 20 in the front, and 20 the back, but if I try to convey too much information, maybe it's not very clear, sometimes less is more.

    I have to experiment with vibration patterns. The vest manufacturer has an online tool for creating patterns and testing them, in case you are curious about it:

    https://designer.bhaptics.com/

    What do you think would be more helpfull, Sideslip angle or lateral G Forces ? I was wondering about Sideslip angle in the arms ...

  6. Thanks pikey !!!!

    I have moved structural vibration because VNE is close to the upper back, and now vibration in the lower back I use it for buffet vibration.

    I'm testing it in IL2, it's working well on dogfights, but not for landing, since stall seems to start at a lower AoA. When I migrate it to DCS I'll se how it feels in modern jets.

    It's so good in dogfights, it looks like a cheat. In modern planes we can imagine that's a feature of the anti-g suit, a  vibrator indicator of high AoA, even if the plane doesn't give sign before the stall.

    I looked online and strangely, its mostly the haptic feedback of gear and flaps that folks talk about in reviews, I haven't found a review from someone that regularly does BFM and I'd like this tool to help me become better. A reminder, it doesnt have to be realistic G! That's not going to happen with a small device 🙂 But any feedback I could physically "learn".

    Hi Pikey,

    Did you gather more intel about this? Your haptic feedback aproach seems the right one to me. I'm starting to experiment with bHaptics suits in MSFS and IL2, I hope to port it to DCS soon, once I learn how to get the telemetry.

    Mi initial aproach to instrument-less flight was:

    - Overspeed: If the aircraft aproaches VNE, your backs starts vibrating, like your seat is transmiting structural vibration from the plane. This pretends to be informative for dives.
    - Engine RPM: If the engine aproaches max RPM, your chest starts vibrating. This pretends to be informative for engine management.
    - Gs: If G's exceed a threshold, you belly starts vibrating, like the ticking in a rollercoaster. This pretends to be informative for not bleeding much energy in turns.
    - Jerk: If the accelaration changes sudenly, then all the vest starts vibrating. This was mainly for immersion, but it could be informative also if you put the threshold very low.
    - Flaps and Gear: Added for inmersion, but it heps to know when they reached the final position, but that's already well conveyed by sound.

    Until I read you post, I didn't even think about AoA, but now I can't stop thinking about it, it would be so informative to avoid stalls because of low speeds and exagarated stick pulls ...

    The question is, how does it feel IRL ? How do we convey it with haptics ?
    For example, the Engine RPM making my chest vibrate maybe is not real, but it's intuitive for me, it makes sense since the engine is just in front of my chest (not with 2 engine planes ...)

    BTW, I have also the posibility of add vibration to my forearms ... but no sure how to use it.

  8. How does a real pilot feel AoA IRL ?

    I'm using a bHaptics suit for flying, and for Gs I make my belly vibrate, since that's how I feel Gs in rollercoasters, kind off tickling there, and it feels very good when flying.

    But for AoA, I have no clue what a pilot feels when AoA is high ... I don't wanna put any vibration, but something that gives immersion beside informative feedback ...

  9. Is this code still valid  for the actual version of DCS ?

    Where can I find info about what values can be obtained beside these ones ? I would be intereseted in g-forces, impacts, ... if for a haptic vest

    local altBar = LoGetAltitudeAboveSeaLevel()
    local pitch, bank, yaw = LoGetADIPitchBankYaw()
    local tas = LoGetTrueAirSpeed()
  10. The target is always in waypoint 1 really close to takeoff ?

    What's the success condition ? I thouth this was a random mission generator until I looked at the PDF briefings, because I died, and the mission was different after.

    Can I see what the objective is inside the game ? I play in VR and I prefer doing all in VR inside the game without PDFs.

    I see there are some pictures in the Kneeboard, but I don't see even a brief description of what the mission is.

  11. Maybe fighting?

    I would say it's mainly fighting, it happened again in Mission 4, even when the bombers were far and I stayed with the attackers.

    It's not a contant FPS drop, it's more like bursts, but when it happens, it's like half a second frozen, but constant freezes ... like half a second stoped, hald a second at normal FPS, sometimes only some seconds, sometimes like half a minute.

    I would say a new bug on CPU in recent OB versions.

    I have an i7 9700K, 32GB DDR4 and RTX 2080 Super, playing with HP Reverb, no supersampling

    For the settings, can I export them to a file or something ?

  12. Looks amazing !!!!! The team seems to be very talented, and they have a prototype with the final shape working.

    We have still to see if they can achieve mass production at that price, but I'm hyped !!!!!

    BTW, the wireless solution will be based on Wifi, so it will not be as good as the HTC adapters based on WIGIG.

    They say they see it mainly as a wired headset.

  13. This HAGS is something that helps also in DCS?

    Potentially yes, for people with NVIDIA cards 10XX and newer.

    In theory it doesn't depends on the API used by the game.

    In another flight sim some people have reported better framerate and more stable.

    Edit: I have tryed, and I have a similar framerate, but with HAGS enabled I have some weird stuttering
