  1. The Pitch ladder in HUD is off centre and no it's not due to cross wind and I've deleted snap views file and it makes no difference. I'm using TrackIr but it still happens even when not. My head is centred in the cockpit and if I move head position left or right it corrects the ladder but now i'm looking sideways in the cockpit!
  2. I found this one What do you think?
  3. "stay flexible" - love it! Thanks a lot
  4. Thanks for your feedback everyone, perhaps I was being a bit hyperbolic by asking for a "perfect" recovery! In reality I guess I was just asking for a good example - thanks for all your advice and suggestions.
  5. I don't hear the LSO callouts in close, the radios are automatically tuned to Ch2 (264,000) on startup do I need to change channels for the LSO?
  6. Does anyone know of a video showing the cockpit view including the controls movement (RCtrl + Enter) of a "perfect" case I recovery on the numbers? I have watched lots of videos (Waggs, Jabbers, redKite etc) and read guides but not many have included the controls movements. If not would anyone want to MAKE The "perfect" case I recovery video for me :) and be forever known as The Master?!
  7. Vaicom Pro Mic listening paused everytime I restart a mission in DCS The Vaicom Pro Mic listening paused everytime I restart a mission in DCS even if I am not loading the Vaicom profile. this ie very annoying as every time I gave to get out of DCS and click the mic icon to restart listening. Is there a way to stop this behavior? I do use PTT in the Vaicom profile but not when using VA at other times. (this behaviour is definitely from Vaicom as when I disable plugins it goes away).
  8. Here is what i have created if anyone is interested https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vsbzQHj7_oWug4U7gCn_kc5Jwq6EzM0EcjvVDFt7kGs/edit?usp=sharing
  9. What is your method for comparing to sets of keybinds (say you downloaded a profile for VA or something else) how would you know if there any changes to the keybinds? I'm assuming the easiest way to compare to lists is exporting and using an excel spreadsheet with some formulas? Any ideas?
  10. I have made a tutorial on how to use Unified Remote as a virtual button box or remote control on a tablet similar to Elgato Stream Deck except a lot cheaper and perhaps more flexible. Here are a couple of pictures https://photos.app.goo.gl/6bELTxf5P8TTth2R7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/3AsFWpwDA6G3xkV66 Here is the YT tutorial video For more info see the following Google Doc and resources https://drive.google.com/open?id=1e9sQQKxkxYuzGbX8Bw1KmlrSmytkwH1F DCS Su-25T.zip
  11. Just to be clear, I'm having the same problem with Carrier Comms but I'm in the Hornet too
  12. Doesn't work for me either unfortunately, just tunes to an ATC who gives me instructions to an airfield.
  13. Thanks, but that seems to connect me with ATC at an airport: "Enfield 1-1, Ship, fly heading 116 for 4, QFE 29.87, runway 06, to pattern altitude" :( Not the same as if I go through the F menu. So comms don't work for the Stennis? Are people just navigating the Comms F menus?
  14. I know this is a really newb question but I am really struggling figuring out how to communicate with the Stennis in VAICOM. In the mission editor it says that the Stennis is 270.000 AM but under the comms Carrier Info menu it says Marshal is 305.000 AM and LSO 270.000 AM (which works when I'm using the comms menu to request Approach and then hand-off to the LSO, check in button 7). When, using easy comms, I say "Stennis, select" and it tunes to 270.000. Could someone please tell me what I need to say to communicate with the Stennis, I would be very grateful. Or even just post a video of themselves approaching the carrier. I don't understand how people learn what to say, there is no documentation or user guides on carrier ops that I can find.
  15. How do I use Vaicom to communicate with the Stennis when coming in to trap on the F18? I am using Bankler's scenario and have setup Vaicom without Easy Comms so have mapped TX 1-4 to the top POV hat on my TWCS throttle as per the guide in the manual. Which radio do I need to use to contact the Stennis - TX1:Comm1: ARC-210 or TX2:Comm2: ARC-210 Do I need to tune the radio (I think the Stennis is 270.000 AM)? Do I do that verbally via Vaicom or manually? Which command do I issue to contact the The Stennis and request straight in Approach? How do I then switch to the LSO channel? Do I do that verbally via Vaicom or manually? This is what I have (unsuccessfully) been doing Push and hold the TX1 comm button and say: "Stennis, straight approach" all that happens is "Enfield 1-1" What is the sequence of events, keywords I need to do/say? Obviously i have no idea what i am doing with the radios! I have googled around and can't find any guides on using Vaicom in the F18. please help.
  16. Thanks for all your help everyone. So what I am understanding (apart from the physics are complicated!) is that I shouldn't be focusing on trim too much but be using the stick to control the aircraft? Or rather, I should expect an appropriately trimmed aircraft to still need stick input, even when lined up, despite there being no wind/munitions effect. Fuel in the wings is an interesting one I hadn't considered, though not sure it's having an affect here as I am just spawning in 2km from the runway to practice landing.
  17. When lining up for final I always seem to drift one direction or another, very slowly, finding it difficult to keep aligned with the runway despite keeping the nose exactly lined up with the end of the landing zone. I have always used Yaw trim to correct this (with variable results) but was thinking perhaps I should be using Roll Trim (which I have never used) instead. All my practice flights have been with ZERO wind and NO munitions. I understand the difference between the 2 types in theory (Rudder Trim Vs Aileron Trim) but in practice because the drift in is so slight it's difficult to tell if it's because I'm rolling or yawing. I'm assuming this affect is the result of changes in Power, and Prop Torque, as I adjust my descent rate, not sure if I should be using Yaw trim or Roll Trim to counter prop Torque? I also understand that if I had an uneven payload of munitions on the wings I'd need to use Roll Trim and if the drift was due to wind I'd need to use Rudder trim to keep the nose lined up, but none of these 2 factors are relevant here. Which trim do you use when on final to keep you lined up?
  18. Is it possible to combine 2 seperate switches into 1 toggle button (ON/OFF)? For example in the P51D the position Lights have seperate switches for OFF and BRIGHT (also ROTARY and DIM) If I want to just toggle them on / off is it possible to combine them into one toggle keyboard keybind?
  19. Thanks guys for taking the time to reply
  20. The Throttle controls the amount or air going into the carburetor or both Fuel and air? (mixture of fuel/air ratio?) So what does the mixture setting do? RPM controls the propellor pitch? (DCS P51D in the controls menu lists RPM as Engine RPM!) There is no "Prop pitch control" listed for the P51D like there is in IL2? (I'm confused as IL2 lists both Propellor RPM and Propellor Pitch as different controls). So RPM doesn't mean 1 single revolution of the propellor then? (as changing the pitch wouldn't change what equates to 1 revolution (1RPM)). Sorry but I am now horribly lost!
  21. By Stick you mean gearstick in a manual? (I'm British!) interesting! If the throttle is the gas pedal why doesn't it increase RPM and if it is just injecting more fuel how does that differ from the Mixture setting?
  22. Could someone explain how the Throttle RPM and the Propellor work on the Mustang as I am obviously missing something in my understanding. Why doesn't the RPM increase when the throttle is increased? Is prop RPM different from engine RPM? What about Prop pitch or Mixture? I understand perfectly well how all this work and interact on a car but am mythed by the what's going on with this aircraft engine.
  23. ah yes! Somehow I forgot about the training section!
  24. Can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to perform a proper landing pattern with upwind crosswind downwind and base legs including things such as speed altitude RPM flaps etc? I have seen some videos for other aircraft that detail things such as referencing runway just off wing on downwind and angles for turning onto base etc, are the parameters generally the same for all prop aircraft?
