Just finish my first flight on this Hornet and landed it on carrier and down to my cabine, Of course, I want to say Thank You !!!! Appreciate!!! Amazing!!! But in my first glimp, only one aspect didn't make me feel satisfy. The the "Material Feeling" of the cockpit. Only in cockpit ! I don't know why and don't know how. I just depend on my first glimp and feeling. two or three part surfaces make me feel like they are made of paper instead of the real thing( which I don't know what is the marterial, I imagine like AV8b Mig-21 ...these are my favorite feeling on the material of cockpit 's control panels ) Are those control panel's surfaces made of metal with paint? rubber wrapped? plastic? I don't know but definitly not made of paper. 1# The control surface just below the HUD's glass part Paper like 2# left and right side control panel surface Paper like But, those silver metal switches are So......goood about the material feeling. For month, many time, when I click OB icon on desktop, after updater initialization , a window show up and say " Timeout was reached" . what is that? what should I do? And after " timeout was reach" , with no exception, two more windows will apear one by one one is "fail to get authorized..." the other is " authorization is valid 23Hr........." what should I do? Today I want to install Honet and updator 2.7.3.... ask me " do you want update to which is qualify for Honet, I click " update now" .....again I was shown " Timeout was reached". what happen? and what should I do? For late activation, if I do not use TIME MORE condition, instead, I use the " START" time in EDITOR, which is when specific condition met, AND after 5minutes which is set in editor start time 0:05:0/0 . IS this way ok? IF ok, we don't know when is the moment condition is met, so we don't know the forst digit HOUR, how should I set at HOUR place? Now I know 0:0:0 is hour:minute:second , but, what is the digit after " / "?

I set a trigger. I want a group late activated, but Not immediatly. Instead, I want the group activated several minutes or seconds after the condition is met . I saw "start 00:00:00:00 / 00 all of those "00" can be set more the 60. My question is what are thoss digits for? So many " : " and "00" confused me. what is the first 00? what is the second 00?...... activate 5 minutes late , how to set? activate 30 second late, how to ? activate 2 hour late, how to ? I try several possibilities of combination of cloud density and rain/thunderstorm. I found rain or thunderstorm dosn't matter, only when cloud density reach 9, the rain effect start appear. If cloud density is set below 9, rain effects won't appear. Such as cloud set 8 and rain, the rain drop effects won't start. Of course, cloud 7 with rain won't start the rain drop effects. Is that designed to? proposed to? or any misunderstanding ? or ... Thank you

I did the same! for long time! and I smok inside the cockpit, IT is so calm in my mind, only hear the rain drop hit canopy........................ the whole world is calm down......... so .......good that is my Flight simulation dream

The newly added rain effects is good. On copilot side, the rain drop move from down to upside. pilot side is normal and good in VR, rain drop are normal and good on both pilot and copilot sides . am I the only one met this problem? what is wrong? Thank you.

wether Mig21 is not compatible with new Rain Droplet effect or not? I make a mission in Persil map with thunderstorm weather and rain drop effects on. DCS crashed several time , or everytime. what happen? is mig21 compatible with rain drop effect? or somthing else? Thank you

By mistake, I click a trash dump button in editor page and deleted a wheather theme file " SPRING THUNDER STORM" I misunderstanded the trash can button is reset current wheather theme from "spring thunderstorm" back to default, back to no wheather theme. So.. I clicked it Now, I lost the Spring Thunderstorm theme file. (i do not want to repair my DCS ) Please help, could you send me that file? And, where should I set it back? which fold ? and path? Thank you for your reply I tried two times and give up, long time ago, so as I remembered, I tried to copy controller assignment profile from 1.5 to "2.0 openAlpha" and "2.5 openBeta" DCS/Config/Input/ yes as I remembered I put them in the correct path, I will try again. Because I'v uninstall 1.5, I will try again from 2.0 openAlpha to 2.5 openBeta, to see it works or not. Thank you, this is first time I get a sure answer for this question and sure path, (rush to fly, I didn't ask before) So I'll try. Appreciate!

To save time, I did copy keyboard & stick assignment files from 1.5 and paste into openAlpha. But when I enter openAlpha and load the setting file, it looks like none or just a few buttons assignment were loaded, even no one loaded. Is the controller assignment file compatible in different openBeta, openAlpha ??? If yes, why I failed to load them?? Does anyone met same situation? what step I miss? Thank You!

Last time, when I start OpenAlpha( Nevada map), at where it informs me the news that openAlpha is no more supported, the window also suggest me install 2.5 and Do Not Uninstall openAlpha, because it will save installation time and 2.5 release can share some files with openAlpha..." Now, after I install 2.5 release, may I uninstall OpenAlpha ?? is that safe ? Ask stupid question above, I just want to make duble sure it is safe. Thank you!

I can install both? at least last time, ( to be safe, I want to install 2.5 release while keep OpenBeta) When I followed the news-link and try to install 2.5 release, a window remind me " can not install 2.5 release because it is already installed ....." I will try again, Thank you! Just after I saw your reply, I re-enter DCS and finally find out that all maps are in 2.5 openBeta and I can switch between them. Thank you so much!!!

Is any Chart that shows the DCS's (penAlpha Beta and so on ...) family tree????? once new Beta Alpha Charle and so on appear, can add it or them (with offical names) to the family tree and comment NEW! Am I right? my understanding of DCS family tree is: openBeta is prepare stage for 2.5 2.5release (which is so called stable2.5) & 2.5xx's openBeta belong to one branch "2.5release" openAlpha is a seperate map, NOT a pre-stage of openBeta. openAlpha will be merged into "2.5release"branch am I right? I'v installed DCS world 1.0 and up to date 2.0 openAlfa openBeta what is the relation between them? could you please show me their family tree ? or maybe please tell me: once Perisan Gulf terrain is released and installed, what will be its name? Maybe can help me to figure out their relation ( or to say, the system ED name them) by myself. This question come to my mind because I thought 2.5 or to say open Beta now is the name of generation of DCS basic engine. And terrains such as Nevada，WWII and Perisan Gulf are made on 2.5 generation engine, and can be choose and fly in the future in released 2.5 just like or simliar to terrains in FSX series. Switch between maps in one single DCS 2.5. right or wrong? After all these terrains are no more in testing time, after they are all offically released, will they be combined and merged into one single .exe icon 2.5 on my desk front ???? I can choose Nevada WWII Perisan gulf map in one DCS 2.5???? or they will be seperated start icons on my desk front??????? This is not a request ! This is just a question ! because I am totally confused about their names and relation.
