  1. right now I am just trying to get aligned out of the turn and can't get that E bracket aligned right at this point. As soon as I get used to flying with full flaps and can get that trim to work right, I will work on using the e bracket and AOA indexer. Right now if I follow it I will end up in the ocean or back of the ship. I am just wondering why I explode when I land behind the wires.
  2. it seems anytime i touch the back half of the landing strip on the stennis I explode. It is most frustating to only have half the landing area to work with. Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong? I can see that I am clearly over the deck and not striking the tail of the ship. In fact, my flight path marker is on the center of the wires and I can see I am over the deck when I touch down.
  3. I seem to be stuck on the last version of dcs. Is there something I haven't checked or is the release somehow staggered? I have tried running both update and repair and I don't seem to be getting the latest version.
  4. hopefully, its rather annoying to not be able to use my slammers to thin the numbers or put them on the defense. If I had lived I would have punched my crew chief for not doing his job and giving me a dud bird.
  5. I had a weird issue with radar today. I was engaging 4 mig 21's and I couldn't get a lock on them. I put the cursor over them and hit designate and the radar goes into acquire mode but doesn't lock and I have to hit undesignate to stop it at which point my radar is now pointed full up and I mean up like 99 top and 99 bottom( a bug I am sure as that is beyond the antenna gimbal limits). So I move my radar back down try again same issue. any idea why my radar would lock. The migs were 20nm directly in front of me and angels 20 as was I.
  6. f-pole maneuver is a good bvr tactic as it is both defensive and offensive at the same time. I am sure it won't work well against a human as they will see you change angle and know not to fire till later. For bvr this works against ai. Another good tactic if you have a lot of 120s is to lock and launch at max range so the enemy has to go defensive instead of focus on launching at you. Once we have ltws this will be even more of a useful tactic. especially if you are loaded down with 10 120s. Lastly if there are two of you , then you can bracket the enemy by cranking out left and right forcing them to choose one of you to focus on leaving the other free to lock and launch.
  7. well I am using facetracknoir for now and it doesn't do that I pause it and the view keys are disabled still. I think I may just get by with snap views till I can get vr. I don't do well with head tracking due to my contacts minimizing my looking far left or right.
  8. I see that the view keys and mouse view are disabled if you are using head tracking. I would like to be able to pause head tracking and use the keys when starting up or doing intense activities with the ddi's. Is there a key that toggles between the two?

  10. I am having an issue landing on runways. I touchdown on the numbers but when I start using the wheel breaks on my rudder pedals, I get an oscillation that eventually ends at best with me spinning around and stopping backwards. It seems to happen just after the hud speed changes to 48. I am rather new to having wheel breaks not be a push button so I have not encountered this issue before. They work fine at taxi speeds but somewhere before I reach that it all goes wrong. Thank You, Paladin7
  11. Is there a c++ api which allows adding and removing static and moveable units as well as getting their current position and damage status. This would be for a running mission not for creating a mission to run. Thank you Paladin7
