I also have the same issue. That file is in quarentine by windows defender win10. Maybe it is dangerous. I prefer not to reinstall it until ED says something.

Does it work with pimaxXR or steam vr in version 0.3.2? What about FFR or smart smoothing?

From PimaxXR software only works in my 8kx if I choose SteamVR. If I set Pimax XR, freezes. But then, with steamvr I can't use smartmotion or ffr, I can enable them.

Which pimaxXR are you using? I can't use pimaxXR 0.2.8 with multithreading it freezes. Smart smoothing is also not working with multithreading. FFR also not working so then we are gpu bound. 4090 and 9900oc, pimax 8kx The more fps the more we need FFR or dllss (in the future). EDIT: ok with 0.3.2 is working (without smart smoothing)

I have been studying my performance and when I use multithreading the cpu goes up a lot, 74%cpu use, but with the same frames 75fps vs not multithreading 75fps with 46% cpu use. It doesn't make sense: same fps (I set 75fps to compare) much more cpu with multithreading. Besides, smart smoothing doesn't work with multithreading (retroprojection-pimax). First image multithreading YES 75fps Second image multithreading NO 75fps

Well, I regret to inform that with my rig the multithreading vr works much worse and it is not smooth at all while the normal version is smooth. Something is wrong. My 9900k oc cores are good enough. Even if I lower the fps at 45 or even 30 is not smooth while with the normal dcs is totally ok. There must be something not ok. Hi, While many people are stating that they have better vr performance in their vr headsets, I regret to inform that with pimax 8kx I have much worse performance. It is a really bad experience, not smooth and many jumps in the frames. Can I try anything to improve the performance? My rig: 9900k oc, 32gb ram, 4090

Well, with Pimax 8k in msfs2020 not a problem with dlss or taa.

Really happy to know that ED is improving the core of the simulator. Let's see if we can see the multithreading and dlss in the first quarter 2023 and not in 2024 or 25. Keep pushing the VR!! I will buy more planes and sceneries when I see the improvements.

At last!! A really important feature we have been waiting for years. Now we hope to have vulkan update too. We hoped to have it between 21-22.

Here with a 3080ti oc in 8kx and it is very smooth at 75hz with smart smoothing. I have installed 90hz beta and I haven't tried DCS in that mode but other games go great.

any information about vulkan update? Hi. I'm supporting DCS because ED said, long time ago, it would support vulkan. Many of us would like to know how the task is going and when more or less would be ready the first beta. We've been waiting too long without any news. Many thanks and keep pushing.

Supercarrier is a great advance EDIT: it was the msaa filter. Without it, it is smooth but I don't understand why with the filter and without reaching 90% of my gpu I lose smoothness.

Supercarrier is a great advance I really like what ED has made with the supercarrier: amazing, fun, realistic... I'm really glad I bought it. What I don't understand: while flying, all is smooth, the sea, the buildings, the land but when I fly over the supercarrier I don't have that smoothness even if my cpu and gpu are not maxed. I fly with Pimax 5k+(hopefully in summer 8kx) and 9900k 5.1oc and 2080ti. We need more improvement in VR. Thanks.

I really trust what DCS is doing with VULKAN. I hope it will bring better performance to VR. I bought F18 and supercarrier hoping that. It would be nice to have VULKAN before the summer. Is there any possibility? 9900ks oc 5.1- 2080ti- pimax5k+

I haven't seen any and I have a 2080ti. I am looking forward seeing any improvement. At the moment no 3,15, 25, 40 or 50% improvement.

What about the long waited improvements for VR? I only use VR in flight simulators because after trying vr I can't go back to a monitor. Before buying new modules for DCS I would like to see the promised performance improvement but after many months we don't have them. I was hoping that before summer we could enjoy the vr improvements. What a pity!!!

Great news!! It seems that next week we'll have the long-awaited vr improvement. It was odd to me that it didn't include "Las Vegas" scenery. Why will the other sceneries have that improvement and not "Las Vegas"? I'm really waiting for these vr improvements to decide investing more money in this simulator.
