  1. People I know inside oculus/fb said both the quest, and now link cable are blowing pass all their estimates and are struggling to keep up manufacturing. I think that's why they pushed the recommended amazon.com cables to people in public as the knew their link cable wasn't going to ramp up production fast enough for the holidays.
  2. at what point do you just commit to building the rest of the plane?
  3. 3d printing option https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3562570
  4. you can wire an on-off-on into an on-on-on with some clever bridging, as long as it has 6 pins, not 3. https://www.seymourduncan.com/blog/the-tone-garage/guitar-wiring-explored-switches-part-3
  5. I'd like just a way to set up the guardian pass through around my hotas.
  6. front the linkage at the bottom it looks like it rotates as a lever to me.
  7. check out open hornet https://openhornet.com/
  8. That's the magic of transducers, they work really, really well on a device that you are also moving with since it's entirely pressure based, not requiring any displacement or movement of your thumb. That microforce controller I posted earlier is typically mounted on the handle of camera tripod so you can grip it to operate the camera and still finely adjust the pressure on it. FSSB users can also attest that there is something really amazing about pressure based analog control.
  9. my plan when I get some spare time is to actually setup my sim pit in something that can fit under the bed in our bedroom so while the misses is watching netflix I can be set up in our bedroom/excerise area on a usb 3.0 extension for the quest and a usb 2.0 extension for the hotas
  10. Could loadcell amp (used for racing brake pedals) bring it up to the required range? http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=73&zenid=9f96f0225338afa8befd777ae09dc57e I use a transducer stick a lot for work and they really are magical devices for delicate analog control, I highly recommend trying to savage it. Just a two axis transducer, pretty much any slow zoom you’ve ever seen in a movie used this controller. https://www.abelcine.com/buy/lenses-accessories/motors-control/preston-micro-force-vf3
  11. can't the transducer be wired like a pot?
  12. check if you have a usb 3.1 port on your motherboards for a possible future upgrade:
  13. word from oculus is there is a plan to have a debug tool that will allow you to adjust the streaming resolutions as they experiment in the beta phase to see what works best of end user hardware. They've since dropped the specs too, now it works on as low as GTX970m gpus
  14. I fly IL2 using a fork of ALVR that fixes some issues. The compression makes the ground a bit blurry but spotting is much much easier compared to my regular rift. The link cable will be much improved over this, with lower latency and less compressed image. The main thing that kills my use of ALVR is when the misses watches Netflix it ****ing me right up with shuttering and lag. Won't be a problem for the link cable. My plan is to actually run a long active usb 3.0 run (plus a usb 2.0 for stick, throttle and rudder) into another room so that my flight sim gear can fold up into a nearby closet.
  15. anyone have a TM stick in Toronto?
  16. I like the small counterweight you've got on the stick. Is the gimbal printed in PLA or something tougher?
  17. I'd love to see a picture of that setup
  18. ive been sketching up a similar idea, but built from an MSFFB2 and using v-slot for the structure. (stuff 3d printers are made from now) Mine is more spitfire inspired so pitch is at the base, was thinking of maybe trying some gearing to increase the motor strength at the expense of speed for the pitch axis. https://openbuildspartstore.com/c-beam-linear-rail/ (40x20 would nest inside for the length adjustment)
  19. does anyone have a good reference of it? I could make one work with my thingiverse collection of hat switches? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3452944
  20. I meant for the throttle https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3480074
  21. FoxDelta, have you considered making new grips for the warthog itself in F-14 shape?
  22. on the real steel it's an analog axis
  23. anyone tried a quest? would be nice to set up my hotas gear on the patio and a long usb extender
  24. Is there no way to do this with DCS-BIOS?
  25. If you are looking for ref scans of the throttle grips https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/super-hornet-f-18-right-grip-raw-scan-f7ffedac0b5f478986f36e093842e77a https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/super-hornet-f-18-left-grip-raw-scan-5b80efc9ea7a47d6ad378286821d749d
