  1. Hi Chrommy, I guess it depends on the aircraft you are flying (what axis assignments are available) but the only useful in-game setting I have found (in A10C module) is Zoom. I set axis as a slider and set Y saturation to 50%. This means fully clockwise is 'normal' and turning anti-clockwise is zoom in (I don't need zoom out as I have triple monitors and head tracking).
  2. Hi, I had similar issues initially. I use ED with Opentrack and spent some time with and without Opentrack, re-calibrating and moving tracker away from headset. This seemed to have the most consistent results but the problem never went away until ... I have tracker mounted on the peak of my cap so that I can use it with or without headset. I put cap on and headset if I'm going to use it and then hit the 'Level' but whilst looking front and centre. This takes about 30 seconds. I then have no further issues and can spend hours playing including removing headset and cap for tea breaks without need to repeat. I suspect this has something to do with the sensitivity of the magnetometer and resetting 'Level' accounts for any changes in environment such as wearing of headset, position of mic, etc.
  3. I've done about 5 missions so far and the only 'oddity' that I have experienced so far was, following completion of a mission, Nellis repeatedly told my to fly to alternate when contacting tower for 'Inbound' for no apparent reason. I landed anyway with no impact.
  4. I completed BFTC last night (the cheering troops makes it all worth while!). I found the campaign enjoyable and felt a degree of accomplishment after completing the final test. I didn't realise until a few missions in that there are practice versions of the exam flights which helped in some cases. I used these (or just flew the exam) to see what was required and to practice. Most took around 3 attempts but there were a couple that took a few more and one or two that I passed first time. As has been said, make checklists initially. You'll be surprised how quickly you are able to go without but mine are always close to hand. I mixed this campaign up with some of the standalone missions to avoid too much accumulated frustration. Well worth persevering in my opinion.
  5. Hi Folks. I've yet to complete this mission (had 1 attempt last night but DCS crashed just as I Pushed! I believe: You will only get the TAD indication from JTAC once you complete the full JTAC contact: Check-in, Read Back, etc. As far as I understand it, The Container is a no fly zone. Entering is an immediate failure. Form a couple of other threads it seems the Abort message may be a bug and can be ignored. I will have another go tonight and see how I get on. (I am pretty new to DCS and am by no means an expert, so apologies if this is incorrect/inaccurate!) Update: Just had another go at the mission. I loitered at SP5 (Marshal) until confirmation that SA19s were down as brief states 'Only move into FEBA once area sanitized' then pushed in. At SP7 I checked in with JTAC and was given TAD target. I did get the Abort, no permission message but continued anyway, successfully taking out Arty with help from 2. I was given mission success, RTB message so checked out with JTAC and headed home. I highly recommend using the PDFs that come with the campaign as they give more detail than the in-game brief and, with the map and line-up card, add to the immersion.
  6. I've made an Arduino/MMJOY based button box for my sim racing rig and thinking of doing the same for DCS/Elite. Minimal coding knowledge required but plenty of research for wiring up the switch matrix (especially if you want to use rotary encoders) and some soldering. My racing box has 9 push buttons, 4 2-way toggle switches and 5 rotary encoders, 3 of which are also push button. Not sure exactly what I want for flying yet as I've already got the Cougar MFDs. All the info you need is here: https://github.com/MMjoy/mmjoy_en/wiki
  7. After having this issue, and being unsuccessful in overcoming it, I modified the log file so that I could skip it. I guess I could have switched back to FLT CONT NORM as Kaltokri did but I just assumed I'd get a fail!
  8. Hi Phil (and all). I'm new to DCS, having started flying about a month ago. I immediately bought FC3 and am currently learning in the F15. However, I have purchased a few modules in the current sale (A10C, Nevada and a few campaigns) on behalf of Santa :). I haven't ventured in to multiplayer yet but would certainly like to join a small group that are happy flying with a complete beginner! Might be fun trying CAP missions to your CAS/DEAD whilst I await A10 delivery. If that works for you, let me know (got a mic issue to resolve/replace first). UK Based and generally on in the evening.
  9. Got DCS about a month ago and dived straight in with FC3 and love it! So, chatted up Santa and will be getting A-10C + training campaigns, Nevada and Red Flag for F15 and A10.
