  1. Coolio, didn't know about the SPRD start rockets! Hehehe. :D
  2. I'd be well pleased with even a few of the major updates listed....To have them all come together in an epic bundle of Sim-fun is fantastic. :D Can't wait. But I'll have to. Waaaah. :D Cheers ED.
  3. Yes, the peace of the purple mangosteen would finally reign in our war torn DCS World.
  4. Purple Mangosteen, all in my brain! That canned stuff just don't seem the same! :D Fruit of the Gods. Like gold dust in the UK (fresh that is, canned in syrup they are sh*t though lol). Assuming Belinda Carlisle was right, and 'Heaven is a place on Earth', then by logical extension Heaven can be found where the purple mangosteen groweth bounteous and free, erm....'from every tree'. :D
  5. It wouldn't surprise me if Affcom can't actually find his post asking for help now (had trouble myself finding if he had the problem sorted). There doesn't seem to be any 'moved' indication for the OP in the main DCS World forum (unless I've missed it....possible), and you have to go through a couple of different links from there to find it (if you find the correct 'game crash' subforum that is.) 'Good luck' indeed. :music_whistling: :) I'll PM him. :)
  6. Affcom, are you by any chance running a multiple monitor setup? If so, not having things configured properly in options>graphics (as well as DCS World>Config>Monitorsetup) can cause problems like hangs and freezes in my experience. Just a stab in the dark mate.....may not be the case. In case you are using Multiple Monitors, MadTommys excellent setup guide may help. Good luck. :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60815
  7. Me neither. Keep getting "Catastrophic Life Fail B7002" error code messages. :D Can't even 'debug' my disastrously crap and unfortunate life at the moment even with the power of "Oprah Winfrey's vastly overpriced self help diagnostics" software. She's such a frikkin scam artist. I want me money back. Ho hum....Things can only get better. :D
  8. You have to install them (does it auto 1.56gb size) Joey mate.....link at the bottom after 'Training- SU-25T' and the lessons have a nifty new Soviet Star.
  9. Aye.....Just found out an hour ago. :( Fantastic artist and I love the Velvets and his solo stuff too. He leaves a truly great legacy. If I start posting Velvets stuff I'll never stop, but since I'm getting p*ssed up in Lou's memory.....This will do for now. :music_whistling: Richard Thompson with "God Loves a Drunk". All beer drinkers know of the life affirming healing powers of Ale, as well as its unerring and incredible ability to unlock and transcend the mundane, like making people involuntarily wake up in skips with traffic cones on their heads and so forth. Richard Thompson Live - God Loves A Drunk Will there be any bartenders up there in Heaven? Will the pubs never close, will the glass never drain No more D.T.'s and no shakes And no horrors Very next morning you feel right as rain O God loves a drunk, the lowest of men With the dogs in the street and the pigs in the pen But a drunk's only trying to get free of his body And soar like an eagle high up there in heaven His shouts and his curses are just hymns and praises To kick-start his mind now and then O God loves a drunk, come raise up your glasses, amen Does God really care for your life in the suburbs Your dull little life of dull little things and you bring up the babies to be just like Daddy And maybe you'll be there when He gives out the wings But God loves a drunk, although he's a fool He wets in his pants and he falls off his stool He can't hear the insults and whispers go by him As he leans in the doorway and sings Sally Racket Can't feel the cold rain beat down on his body And soak through his clothes to the skin O God loves a drunk, come raise up your glasses, amen Will there be any pen-pushers up there in Heaven? Does crawling and wage-slaving win you God's love I pity you worms with your semis and pensions If you think that'll get you to the kingdom above But God loves a drunk, although he's a clown You can't help but laugh as he gags and falls down He don't give a cuss for what people think of him He screams at his demons alone in the darkness He's staying alive for just one more pint bottle Won't you throw him a few pennies, friend God loves a drunk, for ever and ever, amen :drunk:
  10. I loved Microprose "Project Stealth fighter" for the C64 prior to the amiga version hehe.....think I would have been about 11 at the time. Planning your route and 'threading the needle' through Libya's radar defences, (quite prescient) and watching your "stealth bar" (lol) to see if you were being painted. :megalol: Fond memories, the manual was frikkin great though, loads of info and you even got keyboard overlays so you could learn it quicker. They definitely did "immersion" elements far better back in the day. I probably still have the original lilac-purplely box somewhere in the attic at an old property. Top drawer! :) Loved the WWI "Wings" for the Amiga as well......Legendary. :D
  11. Hello Fifi and welcome to DCS (better late than never!), I remember you from ROF and your undying love of the Spad VII if I recall correctly hehe. :) Greets to Josh Echo too, had a few good scraps with you in the very distant past, though not as prolific a multi player as in the very early days (various names but normally either IRFC Biggles or the eponymous Biggles07)....You're a good stick and worthy foe lol. :) How are you doing health wise Josh? Remember you having some probs back when, and hope you are ok. I saw Gavagai knocking about too, its like a mini diaspora hehe. I've always played all the sim genres and era's over many years (20+) and tend to flit from one to the other, having "phases" depending on mood; they all have something to offer in their own ways and present very different challenges. The one universal thread of commonality in my adventures throughout the sim-epochs however is that I'm diabolically crap at them all.....or maybe "pleasantly and inoffensively incompetent" is a better description.
  12. Merci beaucoup Galevsky! Very useful as it is tiresome doing it all manually, I use an SSD too and every little bit helps as over time the space used can be considerable. Cheers.
  13. I saw that about two years ago hehe, its a BBC 2 "Horizon" programme, they do some great documentaries. As a self confessed apocalyptically dense layperson, I felt like my cerebral cortex had just been roundhouse kicked by Chuck Norris, then "dragon punched" by Bruce Lee, and finally kerb stomped by William "The Refrigerator" Perry. Not sure if I will ever recover. Quantum mechanics literally makes my brain cry. Aaiiieee!!! The shapes!!! The Chaos!! NOTHING MAKES SENSE. Its not right!!!
  14. Alien tech anti-grav eagle confirmed Mastiff, you beat me to it hehe. :D Seems like they have also implemented alien Roswell-Area 51 "phasing" tech too, eerily moving through solid walls like that little lassie in the X-Men films. :D (Batumi airfield) (Sorry about options menu in the screenie, forgot to close it) Few more 1.2.6.17746 anomalies, "dig for victory, comrades!" lol. Only observed thus far with the Yak-40 at this particular airfield (sorry, airfield name escapes me offhand but someone may know). Will check at others when I have time. 15. Atoll, I do not know for sure if it is possible to edit files lua or otherwise to solve the problem, this was just speculation on my part and maybe worth checking if you can. Not my forte.....Sorry I cannot be of further help. However I do know that some things are 'hardcoded' into the sim (an example of which is the padlock cross cursor which someone recently enquired about how to remove.....to find out that it is not possible). Maybe the mini-hud cannot be changed either. No idea. I'm not much good, am I? :D Forget to mention since this is placed in the 'Multi-Monitor Support' section that this occurs with a single monitor setup too.....Not solely your 3 monitor setup (I usually use two myself, one for MFCD/TGP, but not at the moment).
  16. It sounds to me like atoll does have the mini-hud option enabled chichlidfan as he states that the HUD symbology is visible when looking left-right, while otherwise it would not appear if not checked. :) I don't use the mini-hud option for FC3 aircraft myself usually but tried it and can confirm that the aircraft datum + alt-airspeed info is not centred on your viewpoint (with TrackIR 5 at least) using the same DCS build as the OP says. When looking to the left, it is offset markedly from your centre viewpoint to the right.....the converse is true looking right. Maybe this is as it should be by design, I don't know. I may be wrong and memory is hazy, but I seem to recall it was the same in FC2......still have it on hard disk and will check it out later (V 1.2.1 I think). Coming back to this genre after a long absence. Sounds similar to the BS2 HMS problem too (not centred when zooming in specifically in that case), I think there was a 'fix' for this on the shark forums somewhere recently involving altering lua files.....Maybe there is something similar that can be done in this case too? Doesn't bother me terribly personally as I don't normally use it....but there is an offset in both keyboard pan views and with TrackIR (intentional or otherwise). :)

    AI in Formation

Its really annoying, and leads me to suspect that instead of oxygen being supplied to the AI cockpits at high altitudes, there is a constant stream of contact adhesive glue fumes piped in which perhaps accounts for their infuriatingly lackadaisical formation discipline. :) You can get them to tighten up (eventually....when they decide they can be arsed) by choosing "close formation" in the comms menu*(EDIT: Sorry Grimm, just noticed you had that in OP), but they don't do a good job of maintaining formation when you hit afterburners in a sprint to give a launch more kinematic energy, or a steep climbing attitude to extend missile range etc. If you are not careful you can easily find yourself stranded in no mans land ahead of the flight and thus in serious bother as you then become the sole target of an entire enemy formation before the rest catch up. Really p*sses me off lol. :) I'd like to know if there is a better way to do it too, or if they are just truly "Artificially Incompetent". You can do lazy S turns to let them catch up but this is obviously not ideal if you want to "dash and brake" so to speak in BVR (faster when launching missile, slowing down when defensive or to reduce closure if you want the BVR fight to last longer) . I've been flying more Russian lately as I think its far more of a challenge anyway, and in A-A I want to close as soon as possible when flying Red. In A-A in particular I would say you don't want your flight too close anyway as there is less volume of airspace covered than in something like a good line abreast spread and/or stacks etc. I'm looking for a squadron to join now regardless as its much more fun flying with people (never done it in DCS yet)....Been having a look at a few squadrons like the 159th Guards and 51st, both look like good setups and judging from their members posts, good people too which is important. :) I think the last time I looked at the 51st site their training places were all taken though. Does anyone know of a good site for DCS squadron resources, where I can find more info? Not meant as a thread hijack lol.....just a quick link will do rather than start a new one. Will be applying to one soon I think. :)
  18. Bill, AFAIK Blaze is not a Razbam employee and is not speaking on their behalf, I believe he is trying to give the perspective of a "fellow developer" and convey the challenges and difficulties in achieving flight model fidelity within FSX in his post. For what its worth, a friend has the Razbam AV-8B+ and he is not much enamoured with it either. As pointed out though, DCS is a very different kettle of fish and one would hope that far more will be achieved in terms of V/STOL accuracy etc. I would strongly urge Razbam to put a great deal of effort into this, if its good and up to snuff it will sell like hotcakes. :) Cheers. :)
  19. Back to some 'gee-tar' and ting then.....innit? :D John Martyn with an innovative Skip James Blues cover....Many different names and versions of this song (as per Blues tradition) but this one is "Rather be the Devil". Great musician, great Soulful singer. Feck knows how he is not more famous than he is. P*sses upon the likes of the Floyds Dave Gilmour and many others from a very great height IMHO. Gilmour would probably agree, if ye asked him and he was being honest. No less than Eric Clapton described John Martyn as "electrifying". He was not wrong. I think these lads are great too, back to more modern day. Radiohead with 'Reckoner' (HD). Well worth a listen, give it a spin and trust me yer lugs will thank you. :) Sublime IMHO and a great live version.
  20. Nice one chichlidfan, cheers. :) For Joey, might like it. :) Massive with "Psyche" (Van Rivers + The Subliminal kid remix). Nice and trippy, always loved Martina's vocals too, sexy as phluck voice I reckon. :D Noticed you like Nina Simone and some House music joey from other posts (me too :) ), so you might like this too. "Masters at work" (Legends) with Nina's "See-line Woman" Cool. :)
  21. PE are the bomb bumfire (lol at your nick :D). Hip Hop was the first kind of music I really got into as a kid. Thanks for info on how to post the video image too.....Christ, what a palaver! Is that really the only way to do it? I tried the 'insert image' thing at first then put in the YT URL but can't get it to display that way. Not sure if I can be arsed to go through the rigmarole each time lol. :) These are some examples of my kind of Hip Hop (an auld b*stard of 37 now....truly "auld skool" lol). Testing, testing......123 :) The invincible microphone fiend Rakim. "Let the Rhythm hit em" (great vid too lol.....an evil dwarf pimp getting served. What's not to love? :D) "Don't sweat the technique" Mantronix (+MC Tee)....."Fresh is the word". Tis fresh indeed. Roxanne Shante...."Have a nice day". Dope. I have all these on Vinyl (and loads more, Doug E Fresh stuff and old 'Electro' compilations too hehe), not for sale at any price. End of. :) @Joey, Massive are just......Massive. Not sure if you saw my earlier MA posts, love em too. Never made a bad record. Not one.
  22. Brilliant Whartsell, that's the ticket and thank you very much for your help. I'm amazed to say I think I actually understand the logic to it so to speak, I will give this a go and mess around some with my own attempts and versions when I get some time. I may be back again with some questions if I run into any troubles, but it seems fairly straight forward and not quite as terrifying as I thought actually. :) I really need to make some effort and 'RTFM' though in all honesty lol.....think I will get on it this weekend if I can. Thanks again! :)
  23. Hello Brun! (lol) :D @Howie, thanks but mine is set up in a similar fashion already (just different directions...ECM excluded)......I want to know how I can cut down on the number of times I have to press the button (especially chaff), as well as perhaps using 'shift' type commands using the 'viper paddle' as shift to do different chaff-flare combos etc and ultimately preserve the button which I fear shall one day perish due to massive over use lol. I don't even know if this is possible with TARGET, but I suspect it is.....it looks like some powerful Voodoo but I have yet to master its dark arts. :)
  24. Greets all. Ok, just wondering if anyone has any good TARGET scripts for the Warthog, with which I can deploy chaff and flares more effectively using the countermeasures button on the Hog stick. Reason being, in the obvious absence of pre selected countermeasures programs in FC3 fighters, its a PITA to have to keep pressing one button so many times. Not to mention that its probably not good for the health of my poor long suffering 2yr old Hog stick. As we all know, the things of this world are very much temporary.....and much like us all, sometimes even high quality sim peripherals simply 'pass away' and die. :( I believe my Hog stick countermeasures button is simply 'too young to die'.....and it would be a crying shame. *sniffle* :D Generally speaking (particularly with chaff) I am very 'generous' with its deployment when nasty, wicked people are firing all manner of nasty sh*t at me and in the usual 'notch' evasion manoeuvres etc, as I see no sense in conserving it for a rainy day when I might not even live to see the next 3 seconds......Never mind the next day. :D To that end I will usually spam chaff by pressing the button at bare minimum 5+ times. I'm after a TARGET script where maybe one press will act as at least five (for chaff), or perhaps even the length of me holding the button down (in seconds) could determine how much is deployed? Any good and better ideas are greatly appreciated. Flares are slightly different. Sometimes (situation dependent) I will deploy a few "pre-emptive" flares at a merge situation as a security measure if I feel the opponent either has the upper hand in some way or has even an outside chance of a heater shot. This gives away my position of course but I'll only do so if I'm pretty sure he knows where I am anyway. Usually I won't. Therefore, I don't want one flare button depression to always deploy many flares. I know you can set to 'continually deploy" both chaff and flares, but I'm not really a fan of this. There are also (last gasp) situations where I know I'm in an imminent world of pain and want to deploy many flares in an "OMFG....Please don't kill me" last chance saloon moment of undiluted and abject terror. Are there ways to program the stick this way? I know you can offload them all in the sim with a button-key but would prefer not to if possible. I am unacquainted with all of this TARGET voodoo.....Simply looking at a TARGET script actually makes my brain cry tears of bewildered sadness. :D So, any help would be much appreciated, and thanks kindly people. Cheers. :)
