  1. WOW just for kicks i went on to Newegg... look at this computer, what a steal...... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229084 If I were in the market for a cheap system that could easily run DCS and the other games you like, this would be it.,..... and only 500 BUCKS!!!!
  2. Anything with 2 gigs or more of ram, a stand alone vid card, and atleast a 2.0 GHz CPU. AT THE VERY LEAST But remember, Laptops arent really meant for gaming, if you want to see how pretty the game is, build yourself a desktop for a $800-1000 US and youll be able to crank the sliders up
  3. Got it fixed, often times the simplest thing is the fix, I had to go into the Cougar Control Panel and assign the throttle to a different number, then go back into BS and re-detect the new assignment.....thanks all that tried to help
  4. yep im looking at the axis command section when i assign the controls
  5. its weird I have it installed on XP pro as well and it works fine I can assign everything correctly with no problem. The weird thing is, is after i installed BS on the vista drive and went through the setup in BS i had the rudder assign via the "auto-detect" within BS, but once I go into instant action and had to punch in my activation code it went back to being fubar'd, it no longer sees it as JOY_RZ in the menu it sees the rudder as JOY_Z now which is what it sees my Cougar throttle as.
  6. Ok so I am fairly new to DCS and I have a question for the experts..... I just installed the sim on a Vista Ultimate 64 O.S. and I went into the options to assign my Thrustmaster Cougar and CH Pro Pedals keys and I notced that I was able to assign the pedals to "Joy_RZ" which was great, thats what I needed for it to be. SO I fire up instant action to see if the controls are correct and i entered my activation and now the pedals dont work. When I go into the options i can no longer assign the pedals to "Joy_RZ" when I go to assign the pedals it only recognizes it as "Joy_Z" but when I go to assign my throttle it shows up as "Joy_Z" also. I cant assign the pedals back to Joy_RZ anymore. All the help would be great. Thanks in advance!!! Windows Vista Ultimate w/ SP1 Thrustmastr HOTAS Cougar CH Pro Pedals
  7. youll enjoy the game no matter what stick your using. I got a buddy that using an old Sidewinder and he swears by it!! me personally i like the additional buttons features of a nice HOTAS, my choice is my HOTAS Cougar, or my Saitek X-52. But to each is own right?
  8. Amen bro, i upgraded EVEYTHING in my puter now im rocking with ... Intel Q6700 overclocked to 3.2 GHz, 4 gigs DDR2 PC6400, 2- 9800 GT's in SLi, and a new 150 gig SSHD. This thing finally can run with the big dogs and get decent frames doing ti too. granted it cant run Crysis on high but who likes that game anyway. :) My guess is your on the lower side, but check it out, turn the sliders down a bit and youll run it fine, I had a laptop with a core 2 dua 1.7GHz with a geforce 7600 gt in it and I still got good frames ( +20 fps)
  9. sweet I am gonna try that nhancer, also bought another vid card this morning, going back to SLi, hopefully this will work, thanks for the tip :)
  10. Have a question for all you out there that have a 9800 GT or any of the 9000 cards, what drivers are you using? what are your setting, I had 2 7600's and they look better (smoother) than this one does when i am playing either DCS or FSX. I heard the AA doesnt work well with the newest drivers. Also when I am flying FSX my clouds flicker in then out, regardless if I am running active sky or the stock clouds. any help would be great.
