  1. The 9900KF is a beast. Even at stock speeds if I’m playing SP in 2D I’m getting about 140 fps but when I put it into VR it’s about 40mpg. Both situations my processor is only running about 23%. Playing in a MP server with 60 epilepsy it bumps to 70ish%. So my system definitely isn’t CPU bound.
  2. I don’t do a ton of SP, unless it’s for learning or some quick combat. I prefer to play MP on Enigmas server.
  3. Do you have to run DCS in steam to use Steam VR?
  4. Well let’s hope they just started a rumor to clear out their remaining stock. Seems like they were doing really good making a very good quality headset at a good price point.
  5. So I just purchased a G2 this week and entered the DCS VR foray and my mind was instantly blown!!!! I’ve getting about 45 fps with my current settings and forcing OpenXR. The one thing that seems off when flying is the “stuttering”/“screen door” effect on ground objects as I’m flying by fast. Mainly an issue when low flying in an A10. If I fly the BS slowly over the ground it’s not a big issue or if I turn the graphics settings down it isn’t as big an issue. I’m thinking it’s mostly a graphics card issue. I’m currently running a 2080 Super and before I go out and drop $1,600 on a 4090, I’d like to make sure that is what would solve my problem. My total system specs are below. -Z390 Motherboard running an i9-9900KF. All cores at 4.7ghz, but I can run all 8 cores at 5ghz stabile (unless it’s a real hot day lol). -32 Gigs of RAM -2080 Super -Nvme SSD windows Drive -Nvme SSD game drive for DCS -3 other Nvme/SATA SSDs for overflow game/data drives Reverb G2 LG 34” curved ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor
  6. HP stated that they are getting out of the VR space. They basically liquidated their remaining stock of G2s at the $399 price and I luckily snagged one. They won’t be producing any new sets in the foreseeable future. I did hear that they will support the G2 until 2026 though for people who do own them already. Sucks for people though because just after my first week of use, it’s a huge value for the money.
  7. How do you switch on the English cockpit for BS3? It works fine for 1&2 for me. I just setup the cockpit language as English ion the setting. But in BS3 it still shows everything in Russian..
  8. Wait, the G2 has pass through?? Can this be used with your keyboard? It's a little bit of a p[ain to keep sneaking under the glasses on some of the FC aircraft. I do need to map more keys to my HOTAS though.
  9. Thanks, this was a HUGE help!!!
  10. So I just hooked up my G2 and jumped in and WOW, I wasn't prepared for that first experience. It was like I was actually sitting in the cockpit of the A-10! My eyes need to get used to everything, but I can tell this is already going to be crazy. But my question is, I just don't find it feasible to use the controllers to twiddle with buttons and knobs, especially during flying. I clicked on use mouse control, but it doesn't seem as I can see the mouse cursor and use it in the cockpit while flying. Am I missing something? Also, is it required to have the Microsoft Mixed Reality app running while playing DCS. Seems to get in the way.
  11. Realized that I can't do any proper dogfighting or even be defensive using the hat on my joystick to look around and The G2 is $200 off so it's a no brainer over TrackIR. Looks like OpenXR is the way to go looking at all the threads. Right now I'm running an Intel i9-9900KF (Had it OC'd to 5ghz but don't notice much in terms of frames over the stock speed of 4.68 on all cores so I dropped it again). 32 Gigs of ram. Got 3 Nvme drives and 2 Sata SSD's and a 2080 Super running a 34" LG ultrawide display at 3440x1440. Looks like the G2 will be pushing about 400,000 pixels less than my monitor, so I'm hoping I get decent performance. Currently getting about 75 FPS with 99% at 55ish, sometimes a bit more. CPU utilization never really goes above 75% but GPU is near 100%. Anyone else running a similar setup and can comment on the frames and smoothness? I already warned the wife a 4090 might be in the books, but hoping this is decent enough for now. lol
  12. that make the missle cameras reso much higher...ive tried lowest to hisghest 512 is plenty and no where near as graphic intensive as 1024. and go every other frame for an even lower FPS hit.
  13. yup its as easy as that really...well dont use super sampling because thats a resource hungry hog that doesnt improve quality that much.....make sure its set to "Multi-Sample AA" both Nvidia and ATI drivers should have it.
  14. missing cockpit is due to using an adaptive multisampling AA setting.should be an easy fix.
  15. I'll fly some a-10 sorties with you ranger..I'm no good with the jets but i'm always busting tanks with the a-10!
  16. Also keep in mind that cards like the 5870 we have are for 1920x1080 and above resolutions....Playing any lower than that, you aren't utilizing the graphics card enough...The reasons our cards have such a large amount and fast RAM is to process large hi-res textures for big resolutions....dropping to certain resos will give very similiar frame rates and a big loss in quality.....this is even truer when you are running in crossfire mode. I know its hard to beleive but playing most games in low resolutions there is a cap at which you need a fast card and no matter how much faster you get you likely wont see an improvement....not one your wallet will like anyway =)
  17. well with integrated graphics i would not expect to be putting any AA on..you could proboly get away with some AF though.
  18. well one of your framerate killers is that you are using Super Sampling for your AA....this takes a TON of computing power and it putes 2x+ AA on the Entire frame. Use multisampleAA you wont notice that much of a difference and your frames should see a healthy jump.....theres also and article on anandtech about super sampling and how it can make some scene with lots of straight lines look worse.
  19. Put AA to 2x...if you game at 1920x1080 or above then the reso is pretty high...i dont see a whole lotta difference above 2x, put AA mode to performance (alot of games have issues with the 2 higher settings and sometimes they look close to the same but have a HUGE performance hit) , put AF to 16x, AI OFF, MipMap quality, and I leave triple buffering checked (dont even think i have any open gl games actually). my FC2 looks absolutly gorgeous and i get the high frame rates. BTW i play on a 56" DLP so i see any jaggies much more pronounced without any AA 1920 is a big difference from a 20 to 56" screen!
  20. WOW something is really wrong with your game because it looks like some of your specs are better than mine! I'm running 1920x1080 and running 10.5 also my fps didnt change from 10.2-10.5
  21. 25-30 fps? I get 60-80 FPS when flying over big cities and 150-300 FPS when flying at high altitudes! I have all setting turned to max (Except Water) and 16AF/8AA forced on in my graphics driver...and mine looks really sweet! Core i7-930 (2.8 OC to 3.53), ASUS Rampage II Extreme, XFX Radeon 5870, 6 Gigs MUSHKIN DDR3-1600 6-8-6-24, 128 GB Crucial C300 SSD, 500 GB Western 5400rpm Digital Green Drive,ASUS SATA 3 6gbps card.
  22. Found the problem!!!!!!!!!! after digging deep into the AMD forums I found a tip to try disblign the "AMD External Events Manager" in the windows services manager and BAM just flew both the SU-25T and A10 for a while and not a single hang!!!!!!
  23. Yeah but why with just this one game? it makes no sense! I just want to fly again =*(
  24. did that also..running stock, ran memtest came back 0 errors...I'll run it again just to make sure.
  25. negative...english version with english patches.
