  1. Also, check to make sure your campaign is using the same setup (i.e., Sim, Game, etc.)...

I think the training missions default to Sim, so the key bindings match what's being said in the voiceover. Campaign may be set to Game, which would, in fact, give you different binds...

*Note: This is only a thought... I've never had it set to anything other than Sim...

  2. Are you setting the pinky switch up as a "Modifier" in the options, or just mapping the two together as a combo?

I don't have the information in front of me, but I do remember a thread that explained very well how to set up any switch as an official modifier when assigning keys...

  3. no. not that. That has already been illustrated by Wags that bonus is not available for those who ordered the Dora before this new benefit started.

I want to know how to calculate the bonus upon a reduction

As for my question, yes, spidergeo. exactly that... Mainly because I foresee a wave of cancellations/repurchases if the bonus only applies to new purchases...

And because, while it has been the practice that bonuses are not retroactive, this is the first time a bonus has been offered on a purely "pre-sale" item (vs. "open beta"), which allows for the aforementioned cancellation/repurchase without repercussion...

  4. Not sure if you're willing, but old tech support here:

First thing to try with any consistent crash is undo the overclock... I know, "It works fine with everything else...", but every piece of software is it's own animal...

It might work, and if it doesn't, just overclock the crap out of it again...

  5. I imagine it's not really hung, per se, just waiting a new connection... It can sit idle for a very long time.

I highly recommend the BitTorrent route to download all the files you need*. Took me a little over two hours to download every available module...

*Assuming a full reinstall... (I should have read better :music_whistling: )

  6. At the debriefing screen you have the option to "Save Track". A track file is a recording of all your inputs and reactions of the aircraft that can be played back later on. This is a nice feature, because compared to a video, one can stop the play back and take over the aircraft or even just look around and check instruments, etc.

The option to save a track is not available during training, IIRC.

You'd have to start the training mission through the normal Missions menu...

  7. Really not sure how much of a boost, but the reason for the ALT-TAB is prioritization...

With the switch from menu to sim, the Aero is switched from off (in menu), to on (while on desktop), to back off again (in sim).

Sometimes, Windows gets confused as to which application has priority, and you end up with the desktop overlaying the sim. ALT-TAB then tells Windows, "No, stupid! Over here..."

I personally have seen negligible difference with Disable Aero checked, so it might be easier all around to leave it unchecked...

  8. Also, in a system that uses hybrid NVidia/Intel graphics, odds are VERY good that the "1 GB" of video RAM is really a shared memory pool with system RAM (read: NOT dedicated), so you may actually have only 3 GB of system RAM available to applications...

Not guaranteed by any means, since there are trillions of hardware combinations, but, as I said, VERY likely...

  9. I have come to realize that the update "fails" with an error message ("... was cancelled by the user") if the user is not there to click the "Yes, I really want to let the update do the update" message once the download has completed.

You just need to run the Update DCS shortcut (noted above), and be there when the permission dialog comes up.

  10. C:\Users\your name\Saved Games\DCS... *

The controller stuff is in there, along with saved missions, etc.

Pasting them back does sometimes work, but others have reported weirdness that is cured by deleting/redoing the controller setup.

    * Assumes Windows 7

  11. I have a similar issue...

I don't use the Logitech joystick, but have the mouse/keyboard software (Logitech Gaming Software), which provides custom mapping of the mouse/keyboard buttons (i.e., my Mouse 4 button = Pause/Break)...

It is set to load the profile with DCS.exe, however, it does not load inside the sim unless I ALT+TAB out, and back in after the actual sim launches...

And it happens every time it's launched (i.e., I finish a mission, return to the "launcher", select another mission, click fly, wait for the sim to load, then I have to ALT+TAB/return for the mouse to work as programmed).

I remember something else that was solved by ALT+TABbing, but I'll be durned if I can remember what it was... Related issue?

Anyway, lengthy post to say, "Try ALT+TABbing out to the desktop, then back in to see if it helps..." :smilewink:
