  1. I believe that reacquiring a target on a lost track never worked on the DCS F-14, at least I don't remember it working. If you have a Phoenix C maybe it will find a target with the self pitbull activation, If it's a Phoenix A, you're guaranteed to miss the shot because the radar can never reconstruct the track even for a few milliseconds I've experienced this situation dozens or even hundreds of times firing even at targets coming in hot. The FCS seems to have problems distinguishing targets flying in formation (sometimes not even that close) and keeps breaking the track. I don't know if this is a feature or a bug
  2. 2023-11-02 12-48-53.mp4 2023-11-02 11-03-39.mp4 In a test of 40 launches, the missile hit tree times, I'd like to know from what source this missile had a 7.5% chance of hitting a target, because the actual chance of hitting a target is almost zero. Is the AIM-54A configured to hunt chaff instead of planes now? And if you don't believe me, feel free to do the same test. The mission I used as a parameter was Heatblur's own instant action in the Marianas against J-11. Remembering that at no point am I asking for a "No weakness superweapon". I understand that there is a chance that the missile will be lost due to chaffs and maneuvers, but I honestly don't believe it's so blatant as to make the missile unusable for a target that pitches down 10 degrees and releases some chaffs and continues flying in a straight line without even making any defensive maneuvers or notches. The missile already has a deplorable state of energy where we have to launch it almost from the mesosphere to have any chance of hitting it, now when the missile gets close to the target, it only needs flies in a straight line, releases some few chaffs and defeats the missile even aircrafts with a huge RCS like the ones I tested., I really have serious doubts as to whether the United States would entrust the defense of its aircraft carriers to a missile that behaved in this way. I understand that there is a whole development process and everything, I also work in this area, but we have been patiently waiting for 5 years for a huge inconstancy of data, sometimes it would be cooler to say: "we don't know how it works and we are trying by trial and error to find something that we think it should be". I'm not talking about the state of energy and the wrong lofts that the missile makes, I'm talking about the missile's own guidance and resistance to a simple small curve and a few chaffs. It is very difficult to accept, even with the age of the missile and all the factors, that this missile is as bad as the one proposed by Heatblur. Speaking of documents, I'm sure you have access to the same documents I have on the internet and they talk about the AIM-54A's ability to withstand countermeasures, but the missile has NONE in the game. I don't really expect you guys to solve this problem, I just came here to show my dissatisfaction as a customer, and I'm not just talking about myself, I'm talking about several friends who stopped flying the F-14, not because the missile lost its energy status, but because the main weapon of the plane became the worst missile in the game in everything, less reliable than some Fox-1s in their early versions. apart from all the other small bugs the plane currently has I'm sure there will be people saying that it "working as intended" and etc. Okay, everyone has their own beliefs, but based on the literature that exists online about the capabilities of the weapon, is that this missile wasn't as bad as it's modeled in the game, or else everyone is lying . This will be my last post here, I'm really leaving the plane, since I've already had to abandon its use in pvp and now I can't even play pve against bots. Perhaps instead of modeling "metal parts holding buttons or cords" you should focus on the core of the product. Like this 3d model "hole" next to the engines which has been on the plane since it was launched: 2023-11-02 13-02-11.mp4 Anyway, despite my frustration, I hope this has been constructive feedback and I wish you guys a good luck. null Test 5 - 0 Kills.acmi Test 6 - 1 Kills.acmi Test 7 - 0 Kills.acmi Test 8 - 1 Kills.acmi Test 9 - 0 Kills.acmi Test 10 - 0 kill.acmi Test 1 - 0 kills.acmi Test 2 - 0 Kills.acmi Test 3 - 0 Kills.acmi Test 4 - 1 Kills.acmi
  3. Hello, when you start the mission, the plane appears with a flashing texture as if it had been damaged. Here are two videos of different missions where the problem occurs:
  4. I may be misunderstanding, but according to the paper provided here by the ED itself, the estimated ranges are much smaller. I can hold a target lock at 80+ nm (5sqm RCS target) now without any problem, as previously mentioned, it doesn't seem to be an F-18 capability (especially the Legacy) to have such long eyes, due to the limited space for a larger antenna dish. Anyway, I'm sorry if I misunderstood, since you guys are doing the research and showing us these unprecedented capabilities of these planes.
  5. Just to clarify, Today's phoenix performance is based on these test values, correct?
  6. My conclusions really were wrong, I deleted my post as it added nothing to the discussion. Thanks!
  7. if this information turns out to be true it would be interesting to be able to have this thrust correction, since for such a big and heavy missile anything that helps it to have some extra thrust is a big help. Now it's up to heatblur if this data is valid or not.
  8. Hello friends, i really don't want start again all that thing about missile aerodynamics and all, because im not a expert and i believe in HB works. But about loft profile and missile spoffing, is so easy to spoff, i'm not gonna talk about the loft because wen i has writing i see that people is aware of the problem. just to be clear i really dont believe that the AIM-54 is a "super missile" or something like that, that hits everything and kill even tie-fighters, but the state of missile (especially the A model) make the Phoenix one of the less reliable missiles in game. Just make this video and uploaded the tacview to show how easy is defeat the missile atm (not in energy but just a little crank and some chaffs) https://youtu.be/MCwEikX1DVQ I just want to know if this is right or its a "under adjustment" parameter? Tacview-20221021-121052-DCS.zip.acmi
  9. +1 same problem here. Tacview-20220923-125538-DCS-F-14A_IA_Syria_BVR.zip.acmi
  10. Ty for the answer! Now it's very clear, You guys really did a amazing research job.
  11. So now performance is considerably lower than the CFD simulations even for mk47 motor. The question is which one is correct? the CFD simulation or the performance we have now in game.
  12. Its a AI Mission, I use this mission to repeatedly test the performance of missiles and train how to defend against them. Anyway should be the RNG making funny of me. As i said: the trajectory now is much smoother making the missile retain more energy, which is already a very good thing! I will keep testing, playing and adapting to the "new" missile behavior, ty again for all the effort that you guys put in.
  13. Hi guys! Ty for the update! is a long jorney until get the things in the way that it should be. I did some tests and missile behavior looks much more smoother now. Anyway did you guys changed ECCM and Notch resistance? the missile looks very susceptible to notch and countermeasures now. https://streamable.com/ocv87t Tacview-20220204-123213-DCS.zip.acmi
  14. Hi Guys! Did the hotfix has released? If not, did you guys have an estimate of when it will be released? Thank you!
  15. This is a recurring problem. I can say that several times the radar behaved in this way, giving priority to targets that it shouldn't.
  16. Yes, the game have some bugs but none make the game unplayable most of them pass unnoticed if you don't search for them, DCS is a Hardcore sim that demand much hardware to play it well, if you compare with other sims the DCS interface is OK (could be better, but is not something that you need read a manual just to navigate on menus), i play on VR also and it also don't have the best optimization but i can play with np on a PC that is no more a top tier machine, you need take time optimize the game for your hardware there is some tutorials on YT and here on forum, DCS is not a "plug and play" game like i said is a Hardcore sim for ppl who read 500 pages of manual to know how to operate 1 plane, if you don't have this patience definitely DCS is not your game.
  17. Exactly this!!! this dude don't fly the F-14 and all that he do is this cruzade againt F-14's using "voices of my head" as source. He want that phoenix don't manuever, don't track targets, don't go far, and Tomcats drivers have to fight in a plane that had several disadvantages compared to other more modern aircraft in game without the only advantage that they have. ATM every Phoenix could be easily notched A or C versions, you only die for a Phoenix if you don't know how to defend it.
  18. There is a command on Lantirn where you slave it to HUD, ive used several times as navigation pod doing this.
  19. Hello friends, I would suggest a small redesign in the part of azimuth control and elevation of Jester menu; First of all I would like to say that Jester is already an excellent solution as it is without him it will be impossible drive the cat alone, but i think if you guys think it's plausible I'm sharing in my vision how to make it easier to use at times when quick reactions are needed it would be more intuitive to make movements with the head in the directions where you want point the radar and have a reference point in the middle of wheel. I made a draft (sorry for the quality) that i will share: Thank you for the great job you've been doing.
  20. I'd love to see a ASF-14 but is a concept, there only "guesstimates" about it so i don't believe that is ever a chance. ps: It's amazing how the ASF-14 would be ahead of this time with those avionics on early's 90:
