  1. You have to do this with every update, since it overwrites the lua file. But after fidgeting with the settings and codecs within OBS 4 or 5 times with no success, I found this was the easiest option for me to record gameplay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daMR-XLKlQ8&list=PLSjyKk8RzEI7NINGi12aDzVvBvaTBZdb1&index=8
  2. I don't really know that this is an ED issue so much as Oculus. Numerous reports of the Mirror tool stuttering so much that it is unusable, I too had the issue. Now when I want to record, I have the HMD Mask lua edited to reduce the round mask in the screen window, and just tell OBS to record the actual window directly. It has worked so far so good. There was a YouTube video I followed quite a while back that shows how to set all this up, if you would rather look into this route, I can see if I can find it again and paste the link.
  3. Hey all, didn't want to post this under bugs until seeing if maybe I am just doing something incorrectly. Based on several Youtube videos, you should be able to set up your primary and secondary comms so that you can use the swap button for anticipated changes. I am having an issue where I input the Primary at Kobuleti (133.000), press swap to bring up the Secondary, and enter the ATIS channel I set up using Funkyfranky's work (126.800 in this case). Once I press enter, it switches the Secondary back to a default 127.500. Is this normal behavior? I know I could go in with the mission editor and setup all the comms channels that way, but that defeats the purpose of entering in game on the fly. Curious if anyone else has had this issue or if I am doing something wrong. I made a generic new mission with nothing else in it and no ATIS scripting, and it still does it, see attached track. 4. Are you using VR by chance? I just tested and I can only get the kneeboard plugin to work in 2D. In VR only the standard DCS kneeboard shows up.
  5. If you really do not want to manually fly AAR, isn't there an option for "unlimited fuel" under the Gameplay tab in settings?
  6. I could see how it is frustrating, I've done it several times myself. And being a newb at helo flying, I don't get many consistent attack passes yet so to miss out....yeah that sucks . What I have done is started to implement it into my takeoff and landing routines. Once I am ready to taxi/takeoff I immediately hit the keybind to "remove" the guard after releasing my park brake, and then during RTB right as I start my landing checklist I hit it again to "safe" it. That way I don't have to worry about it if I would get jumped in route to an objective or have to do something on the fly.
  7. Thanks so much for taking the time to share that, you solved that oculus mirror issue for me, I all but gave up on recording things until now. Now I just need to figure out the screen capture so it doesn't look as stretched, but this gives me a start! Thanks again.
  8. Would you share how you are recording? Software/specs? I wanted to record my Apache gameplay and have had non-stop issues with Oculus mirror stuttering like you mentioned and OBS. Tried Shadowplay and that was worse, but it seems like my initial point of issue starts with Oculus mirror. Appreciate you sharing your progression!
  9. Did you watch Wags' video he posted this weekend about settling with power & VRS? It may help give some insight on part of what you have described, but definitely like Jester said also try curves and it'll just take some time getting used to not hamfisting the movements.
  10. My mission date was the default, I just plopped a chopper down on the new oil field bases to check out the scenery and practice start ups. I did a test with all other maps and it was +/- 4 1/2 minutes, and even started a new Syria mission and it was about 5 1/2 minutes. I guess my original mission might be semi-corrupted or something strange is just going on there. Now that is a good question, I know they modeled a comms barrier with the F18 that you could override I think, so I wonder if that is a thing?!
  11. Totally weird, I wonder if I stumbled onto a bug possibly. I made the same mission on Marianas and Persian Gulf and 3-5 minutes tops. On the Syria mission, the confidence numbers start counting way up and back down to .055, then starts over again and goes slower the second time. Finally about 15 minutes later it turns green. I'll keep testing and capturing some tracks in case I need to submit a report.
  12. Not a complaint here, genuinely curious...is it normal for the INU alignment to take upwards of 15+ minutes? I have made a couple simple missions for myself to practice cold starts and it seems like it is taking that amount of time. Seemed like on Wags' video and some others it was much shorter. This particular mission is in Syria with High scattered clouds (not even sure the weather is modeled to affect alignment since it's GPS). I've tried it a few times with the last time literally just going in and activating the Doppler and not doing anything else until it completed, because I was not sure if I was doing something to impact the process. Anyone else notice this or is everyone hot starting and going immediately to blow things up lol? Again not complaining because I just sit there in admiration in VR, never in my life thinking this level of aircraft representation would be possible to the consumer. I know it was a long wait for the module, longer than the INU alignment, but props to ED for this thing!
  13. Yeah my machine was a little twitchy from having SSLR on running VR, so I turned it off and it's running much better. My first impression when I hit "Fly" was holy cow I am sitting in an Apache with the monocle on my face. I remembered enough from the cold start vid to turn the systems on and see it project, just amazing immersion. Cannot wait to really dig in and learn this thing, I haven't been this excited since the Hornet initially came out.
