  1. I know it's not a "E" but having seen a plethora of in cockpit vids lately it would be nice to have a shiney new option where the framework and panels are all dark and new. Obviously a very, very low priority.
  2. I sincerely hope so. But I would've expected something recent from Barundas or Casmo maybe......
  3. They are rumoured to be developing/making an Apache cyclic stick grip this year.
  4. It's never releasing before the t-shirt. Never.
  5. Mine arrived last Friday. I've not used it yet as I'm having to make considerable alterations to my "cockpit" to make it fit. The seat and all of my mounts are made bespoke from MDF and I tend to over engineer them to reduce wobble. We'll see..... One of my original concerns was the leverage and weight the Apache collective would bring. Something that long is going to move around. It only has a single small pivot point. I'm amazed they didn't produce a cheaper "shorty" collective base (minus the throttle). It would've solved that problem. I agree the plastics look and feel cheap. It does nicely resemble the real thing though. And I compliment Virpil for actually doing it and keeping the price reasonable. When it was revealed I was convinced it would be much more expensive. There are other companies producing a 64 collective and the prices easily exceed £1200. They certainly don't look better and are rarely reviewed by anyone. Once I've had a proper play I will update and post a photo. I originally used the Sharka 50. That always felt like a quality item.
  6. Same. Very excited. Sorry BigNewy. Hopefully you'll get it soon. I ordered on the 1st day of preorder at about 9am.....not quite as fast as Mr Ferguson here who was ready at 0730 allegedly.
  7. Thank you for that detailed response. Knowing that swapping fixed to rotary is a straight forward task is very useful. I have nyogel, so all I need now is a Virpil valentines sale. Cheers
  8. Mr Ferguson, may I call you Turd? Your opinion please. Currently using a WH base and grip. Considering moving to a Virpil base. I use only the shortest of extensions (50mm) and have a set up that allows for stick between legs with wrist resting on thigh (heli style). I like some resistance. Don't want a limp feeling noodle. Is the cm3 overkill or would the warbird d suffice. I understand that both can be totally dry clutched - but there have been 'feel' problems associated with that or so I understand? Are they leaps beyond WH? Cheers
  9. Not surprised. I early adopted the original Virpil Collective (the ka50) when that came out a few years back. I recall ordering it about 5 minutes after the pre order released. That seemed to take forever to turn up. Hopefully quicker this time.

    Red Eagles

This is posted with the best intentions, so I apologise in advance of forum rules or etiquette are impinged in anyway. There's a guy (Steve) who runs a Podcast called '10 percent true'. He's an aviation author and may be known to E.D., Razbam and those here who preordered the f15e. A pdf format of Steves book concerning the f15e was bundled for free with that module. He also worked with Sedlo to produce the inherent resolve f15e mission His podcast is really good listening. He has fascinating guests and allows them to speak uninterrupted. He instinctively knows what to ask and when to say nothing. For the quality of guests I'm amazed it's not more popular. For those looking foward to the incoming Mig29a and Red air power there are episodes covering the use of migs by the usaf 'The red eagles'. There's a seperate website and a podcast channel. Just search 10 percent true. Best wishes.
  11. Ok, so oil and rad coolers wide open. Running at 3000rpm and 61 inches from take off through departure and climb, a short engine rest, plus a few more minutes at full power and I caught up. I'm amazed the engine did not blow up. Thanks for the help.
  12. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I appreciate I was not expecting the AI to be at max continuous, which probably explains them getting away. I am naturally trying to nurse the engine to and from the target. Not anticipating the need to use far higher power settings unless absolutely necessary. Will try as you and the other poster suggested and report back. Cheers. Amazing work by the way. The time you've put into the background materials is next level.
  13. Thank you for responding. I don't think it's a power problem. I'm running max continuous 2700 & 46. That's giving me 285mph. The difference in overtake speed is staggering. Seems like 80 + mph quicker. I've watched a few YouTube vids from others playing mission 2 and they are able to catch up and fly in a loose formation at around 200mph. It really is bizarre. I take off glued behind the flight lead. And quckly reach 250 mph. Within a matter of minutes the flight lead is a dot. He joins the already distant flight formation. Despite me running at full sustainable power (trimmed level 285mph), I'm then overtaken at significant extra speed by aicraft that are well hehind me. By the time I depart the english coast I'm pursuing a string of mustang dots that continue to pull away. I don't use mods. I've taken Reflected's advice for game settings to avoid bugs. Could this be a Multi-threading or DLSS thing?
  14. What am I doing wrong? Can't catch the formation. My airspeed 285 mph, the AI Mustangs fly away at what appears to be 50 mph or more than my top continuous speed. Climbing or level. Even those AI taking off after me come past at a speed unachievable by me. Missions 1 and 2 show the same problem. I am using suggested sim settings Any ideas?
  15. Thanks for the detailed response. I understand it must be beyond complicated. Keep hammeting away....
  16. Ok. So 2 seperate PCs both running latest update, but with different controllers.....same effect. I agree - it does eventually stabilise (some of the time) but it's a wild ride getting there. Definitely no where near as pilot friendly since 2.9 dropped. I recall someone mentioned Wags was aware that the Att hold was a bit squirrelly. I thought the fix in the update was covering this. There's another thread referring to issues at other speed ranges - suggested as fixed?
  17. I'm guessing this 'region' of the attitude hold model wasn't fixed in the last update. I'm still experiencing oscillations after engaging att hold having entered in a steady hover. Whether it 'holds' or not seems intermittent. Will check control bindings again, but it was working very well until 2.9 dropped.
  18. Good advice. Worked a treat.

    Cheers.

  19. "Shack!!!!" This absolutely solved the stutters and hang ups for me. Now running MT at locked butter smooth 60fps. Thank you for sharing. Knowledge is power!.
  20. Thanks to those directing me to the non "mt" exe. Single thread is consistent and reverting to it has removed stuttering entirely, though updated features (I've no idea how many) seem effected by this. For example, the grass no longer moves under a hovering Apache. I tried mt in various scenarios and settings (win/nvidia/dcs) and removing overloaded cores (no.8 in particular) but this had no impact on the stuttering. Problems lie in the mt - for me at least. Thanks to Bignewy for responding. Good to know its being addressed.
