Was anyone successful running DCS with the new Pico Connect BETA software in PICO OS 5.9.x ? DCS MT works fine in VR using Ggodin's Virtual Desktop but I can't play DCS in VR using the new PICO Connect softwares. Using the latest (BETA) PICO Connect software 10.0.x though DCS either hangs or starts DCS in 2D. I am using DCS (as well as IL-2 Sturmovic 's standalone versions) bought on the respective websites (not Steam). I would love to get DCS and IL-2 running with PICO Connect to compare visuals and performance versus Virtual Desktop Ultra and Godlike settings. Thanks for your input.

Me too. It's been 20 years ... Jane's, EEAH, A:AA, Apache in Arma3 ... Day 1 purchase ... of course. I also bought 2 licenses ... for me and my son. This is an ED triumph ... first the Mossie and now the ultimate war-machine. [only waiting for the BS3 ... I feel that is incoming too]. Congratz ED Team !

I stopped flying Warbird missions till this was sorted out. This WAS indeed the case, but I tested it yesterday after the most recent patch on BETA and it seems to be rectified and OK again. I am curious since I never logged the time until start of Warbirds vs jets / helos in the past and so don't know for sure that time-to-start for Warbirds is again exactly as it was before the beta patch that messed it up !?

BIGNEWY, just wanted to let you know that the Channel map crash issue is still not fixed in the 9/23/2020 OB version.

I can only assume the QMB is not used all that much and most people are using the more advanced Full Mission/Campaign Editor instead ! But to me the DCS QMB is offering me intsantly an almost unlimited number of DCS missions and therefore ... I still like it a lot]

Hello again BIGNEWY, I tested again after the latest DCS World Patch on (today) 2020-08-26 ... Got some good news about the QMB and the Syria map ... the problems seem to be fixed ! I tried a number of times with different planes and time of day and it now worked fine (but I need to test some more of course) However the Channel map is still producing the same error in the DCS World QMB ... so I still can't generate missions with it (errors are the same as reported on august 20, please see the attached screenshot fron august 20) The Full Missions Editor is/seems OK with the Channel map (so only the QMB seems to be involved). Thank you. [iMHO ... both the Channel and Syria maps are incredible ... and everyone else seems to agree !!!]

One of the crash files attached Hi BIGNEWY Attached on of the crash logs I have to inform you though that it sometimes works, depending of which options I am selecting (I use the Advanced option of the QMB). If I do not use the Advanced option it sometimes does work (occasionally). This log was produced rapidly on my oldest system with 8GB RAM on which all the rest of DCS works fine though, but it also happens with 16 GB and 32 GB systems as well ! Hi BIGMEWY Sorry, still not fixed it seems... Latest OB dd 2020-08-19 did not fix the crashing of the DCS QMB either. It only seems to happen with the new Syria as well as the Channel maps. This seems to be an issue for other DCS sim players as well with systems having ... 8, 16 as well as 32 GB of system RAM (so the increased size/details of those new map may not be the issue !???). [i, personally, can use a.o. the superb DCS "Full Mission Editor" instead ... but maybe new DCS users are not yet used to it and moreover, I personally like the DCS QMB as well for creating simple missions in no time]

FWIW the latest *979 hotfix version (june 17) did not yet fix this bug (but it was not mentioned in the fix-list so that was to be expected).

I too hope that as soon as the problems (?) with the new mapping tech is sorted out completeley that we might get an update on all maps. This happened at the time of version 2.5 for caucasus. Would be great to have similary upgraded maps.

If we read the comments over at the il-2 forums then, yes, we definitely need this level of detail! Many posters there refer to the quality of the Maps of dcs. If dcs world was only intended to be a fly over at 3000 feet World then maybe not... But there are helicopters and tanks. IL-2 GB now also has tank crew and that is why many people prefer more detailed maps (aside from bombing missions etc of course)!

None of the above, I like the business model the way it is ! If you do something like the above loyal customers get punished (most of us already bought most modules and maps). Going forward I am willing to pay for new maps and modules, but not the (almost) exact same ones I already bought. The way ED does this is the way I like it. I dont like to pay for mostly incremental versions line BF 1 to 5, NFS 1 to whatever, Doom 1 to whatever ... ! But YMMV as it always does :-)

Thanks BIGNEWY. [bTW my son had the same FMB crashes I reported. We have completely different PC configs with different GB of RAM (in common though : both use latest versions of the Nvidia driver, Turing as well as Pascal cards) I only reported this once I was sure this happened not only on my own PC config]

Latest Open Beta june 11 : still the same problem although according the OB release notes it should have been fixed in the latest OB version ! FMB with P-47 + Channel map = crash, each and every time Took me again 3 minutes to find out. Ok, the builtin missions do work, but the FMB should too !? Hoping for a new OB version or Hotfix, but this is not a true showstopper :(

IMHO price is understandable since, most DCS modules at least, can't be sold to a hunderd thousand people, but still may take years to develop and mature. That price of 1,825.51 is ... so low since if one buys and flies all those modules that is all one can do in life :-)
