  1. The CH-53G can do loops, too. But it will stress the structure so hard, that it will never be allowed to fly again. A CH-53G technican told me he saw this once. After that the helicopter was grounded. Oh, just found this:
  2. I also use Falcon4:AF and IL-2. No problem with these. They also have rather old engines. I know DCS is CPU consuming. But even @3.6GHz on a Quadcore the game is slow. Viewing Distance is set to medium. Not much better on low. Water and all other effects are off already. I tried every tip I found here or elsewhere.
  3. I have in a single player mission with no action at the base with actived skval around 25 fps on an up2date pc with almost everything set to low or off. Thats not tollerable. In multiplayer its even worse. And I don't know where else I could tweak. I spend hours optimizing the system. And it's the only game I have these problems with.
  4. My fps go now from 140 to 25 when I activate Skval while looking down with ATI 9.8 drivers. I could say with every new version, graphic driver or game, the performance goes worse and worse. I give up. Even with a highend pc its not possible to play this game. Maybe they should print very specifiv hardware on the box so someone can buy the pc on a per game basis.
  5. I wish it would use 4 cores. On my AMD Phenom 2 X4 are just two cores active by the readings from the G15 screen. And even these two cores are not at 100%.
  6. So, is this an AMD related problem? I don't have numbers, but I think it was better with my Core2Duo @3 GHz.
  7. I am on Windows 7 x64 already. Water = 0, Lights = 0, Scenes = medium, Textures = high, no mirrors, Res Cockpit 512, Heatblur = 0. I would like to know what kind of system stays above 30fps in that mission all the time with moderate settings. At the moment it is no fun at all.
  8. I also have a frame loss with the abris, and I loose even 10 frames more if someone flips his anti-collision beacon on. On Panzertards server I get only 20 fps on ingress. Sometimes less. I disabled water effects, lightnigs effect and have medium visibility. Res is 1680*1050 on an AMD Phenom 2 X4 955 @3,2GHz and a ATI Radeon 4890. Its not flyable under 20fps and there wasn't really action yet. And its not a very slow PC I think. The games don't even use all of the CPU power. I think it could be smoother as it is now.
  9. Are these artifacts maybe tearing effects because of missing vsync? Enable Vsync is broken since 8.12 i guess. I use the dirextx overide from the riva tuner tools to enable vsync in BS, since BS lacks an option to enable it in the game.
  10. Did you change the "lights" option in the options.lua?
  11. Yes, the formats did the trick for me, too. Thanks for the hints. Such things are the reason for my dual boot installation of windows. I have one cleaned and optimized install just for the games.
  12. OK, set to UK and reinstalled, but problem still remains.
  13. No kidding? You mean in the regions and language settings I have to set it to the United Kingdom?
  14. Hi, I also have this problem on a german Windows 7 installation with the english download version of DCS:Blackshark. I already reinstalled the game from the scratch, but as soon as I enter the options I get the error windows and I can't set any of the controls. The controlls are empty.
  15. I only use it for radio commands, not for controlling the aircraft. Works great after some training.
  16. I would also like to know if the logs files can be disabled. The CockpitCommandsLog.log for example can get big very quick and I think it might have an impact on harddrive performance.
  17. If you plan to use the a gear a long time (I got my first CH Fighterstick ten years ago), I would go for CH. Besides the good hardware you have a big community under http://www.ch-hangar.com where are many of the company people around. There is also a very good trimming script availible for Blackshark. If you can afford it, you won't regret.
  18. Problem solved. Make sure to clear every input devices profile in Black Shark input configuration. Especially the axis settings on devices with no axis. By default every device has an X,Y and Z axis assigned. Thats why my cylcic went wild if i pressed a key on the mfp.
  19. Hi, thanks for the link. I did almost the same thing like he did in the tutorial. I will look over it when I am back home and start from the scratch. Greets, Manuel
  20. Hi, I also have an annoying issue with CH input devices. Every time I start a mission I have to push a few buttons on my CH MFP, and also on the throttle. I guess I need to push at least one button on every virtual device I created with the Control Manager. If I don't do that, as soon as I push one button the cyclic goes in the upper left position and stays there until I touch the joystick. I have five virtual joysticks seen by Black Shark (because I needed more then 3*32 Direct X buttons (Stick, throttle and MFP) I can get from Windows to map all the functions). I don't map keyboard characters or macros on the input devices. Thats because pushing more then one button the same time can have unexpected results. I assigned all the DirectX buttons in Blackshark and cleared all other functions. I don't have a clue why that happens. Sometimes I forget to push the buttons before I start the engines and the helicopter flips over when I push a button if I am not fast enaugh to pull the stick. Greetings, Manuel
