  1. Lower resolutions would need smaller dots and higher resolutions like 3440x1440 and 4K would want bigger dots because of the increased pixel density. My UW is impossible to spot distant targets on sometimes in optimal circumstances like dark object against clouds at 1+ miles. My understanding was the dot size was static between resolutions, I.E. 1 pixel for example.
  2. I flew on a different server and they worked fine just like in single player. I might stick with single player for this module till the bugs get worked out more.
  3. Can't hurt to try but my point was that it doesn't happen offline or in SP missions. Seems to be MP only. Same map sSinai, same rough distance to targets and offline I can follow the same procedure and hit them fine. Online, they miss wildly.
  4. This was the Sinai map. I'm not 100% sure that would be the issue as IIRC the Lima's are supposed to lock on to any target in the area. I watched one splash about 40 feet from a BMP-2 which should have been well within it's search area. I had to constantly have George slave and de-slave to different targets in order for the missile to track a target, even though it tracked the wrong target. If he didn't slave and de-slave and he fired, it would just impact the ground in the area not even close to the area the TADS was looking. Makes me think there's a bug there somewhere with the Lima tracking in multiplayer.
  5. Not sure if this is a known bug, or just me not doing something correctly however I was just on a MP server flying the AH-64D using the Lima Hellfire's and had George engaging targets and the Hellfire's were hitting the wrong targets and also flying out to the target area and flying right into the ground. I practiced in SP as I haven't flown the Apache in over a year and was having no issue's with the Lima's tracking the correct targets using the same procedure. Have George WAS Hellfire's, Have him slave to target area, select the target and verify it in the TADS, Wait for him to lase the target and store the target data and then give him consent to fire. 12 missiles and not a single one ever hit the correct target.
  6. Mode looks like it's in PP or pre-planned mode. I imagine you change it with the Mode pushbutton on the left DDI/MFD. Using the TGP you would want TOO, Target of Opportunity mode, unless your using the TGP to make mark points for PP mode. I don't use LGB's much if at all so I might be wrong.
  7. Hardly ever use the A2G radar unless it's extremely cloudy but I don't see why it wouldn't affect it to some degree. I've honestly never tested it though and I usually use just 1024, not every frame. It's expensive and doesn't really look any better. I think every frame option is for exporting to MFD's or external displays and it comes with a performance hit.
  8. I'm not sure there's a non hacky way to use purely openxr outside of the oculus app and what I read say's it's worse than just using the native app. I would be willing to say something was wrong with my setup if it wasn't just DCS, in VR, that was the issue. DCS outside of VR runs fine or relatively fine. Everything else in VR, fine. DCS in VR and it chugs.
  9. Should be using OpenXR via the oculus app. It's not using SteamVR. 5800X would hardly be a bottleneck it's "one" of the faster CPU's out there. My point was that nothing about my system "should" be considered a bottleneck to the degree that I have experienced. It's rather the software, not the hardware. I think it's self admittedly adhoc implementation in order to provide the ability to use VR but you hear about impending improvements and better API's being implemented and never seeing them come to light. as I said it's been 3 years since the original post and I've not seen that marked of an improvement in the year that I've had a VR headset.
  10. I haven't seen much of a VR improvement in DCS since I bought a Quest 2 roughly about a year ago now. I just went from a 1080 to a 3080 Ti and no offense but I'm getting roughly same performance, perhaps a little better with the same settings. Marianas map must be broken for VR because launching even with just my aircraft on that map is a .5 FPS slideshow. Syria and PG are definitely better however I see roughly the same performance with a 3080 Ti as I did with my 1080. That's not the case if I run out of VR where I literally cannot enable any regular settings to bog the fps down and I use a 3440x1440 UW monitor. Compared to other VR titles where I saw massive improvements DCS runs pretty terribly. PC is no slouch, Ryzen 7 5800X, 64gb DDR4 3200 ram, DCS on raid 0 SSD array. I looked at the original post date from Nineline and at roughly almost 3 years ago, I haven't seen many improvements to be honest.
  11. For every 1 person who thinks $150 is fair there's probably 100 who would say "screw it, not worth it". It's not about not being able to afford it either, It's about what I'm getting and perceived value. I also have to invest time into learning to actually be able to fly it. There's a time and a monetary cost investment. One of the reasons this is such a niche market is due to that. Customer perceived value is even more important, not less. for every 1 customer you lose it's the equivalent of 10-100 maybe even 1,000 from a AAA title for instance. Using myself as an example, I have less and less time to devote to sitting reading a manual and trying to learn how to fly some of the modules. I've gotten older, real life and other hobbies are more or less equally important. It's not that I don't want to. It's not that I can't afford to drop $150. It's that I would never use it enough to justify purchasing it and the perceived value dropped because. I would be more apt to wait for a sale, but by the time it does go on sale and actually hit a price point where I might drop money on it, I don't even think about it really and I'm talking about as the price rises because it makes the sales seem less like a sale really and more dropping down to their original price point. I'm probably more casual than those who build sim pits and spend $1000's on it as a hobby. To those people $150 is nothing because you spent $1000's building a sim pit and the perceived value isn't more or less but the value they place on their money is more or less. It's the basic whale mentality. All I'm trying to say is that the attitude that you would pay anything to get your hands on it isn't shared by most. I'm sure the developers will do what they think is best for the company, but even they are not infallible. I don't think the prices are all that extreme right now anyways but they are slowly approaching it.
  12. That attitude is short sighted because if you just tell your customers, or in this case you tell their customers for them, not to buy it then you don't have any customers or rather very few customers. If 10,000 people are willing to pay $80 but 100,000 are willing to pay $60, what price point actually made you more money. $800k vs $6 mil. Any criticism is valid as long as it's constructive. It's not first world problems, it's just good business to listen to your customer base.
  13. IIRC you both have to select rockets, I know I did it earlier with him with me as pilot and him as CP/G. The other way around I'm not sure of. I had the George UI up, both select rockets with WAS and just line the I up with the LOS reticle. He does the elevation. Didn't have an issue with him deselecting targets. Made a pass and rockets were pretty much dead on to where I was aiming. Also the I beam won't move up and down or I believe side to side, you have to physically move the helicopter and line it up.
  14. Maybe through HOTAS programming you might be able to setup a profile to toggle the button press. I think you have to hold it though, there's no keybind and there's no auto lasing that I know of. I don't mess much with the CP/G seat and I'm still trying to learn this thing so I could be wrong.
  15. I'm assuming most of the FM stuff is correct and I don't have to like it, but I think some of the issues with trim could be addressed with a smart trim reset since about 95% of us don't have FFB or mechanically held hardware. I also wonder if the collective is basically useful in only 10% or so if it's range. I sneeze on it and I'm either climbing or descending 5 degrees.
