  1. Thanks to everyone who has responded to this. I’m glad I’m not the only one who misses DW. I take the well made points about stuff already in the pipeline and will keep an eye out. I was so disappointed with Cold Waters which promised a lot of DW but basically turned out to be a glorified video game so I’m a bit suspicious of where Microprose will go with Sea Power. Modern Naval Warfare could well be the answer and maybe DCS could help. N
  2. Sadly Sonalysts have steadfastly refused to update it. They are very much into military sims and software for the "real thing." I just think that DCS / Eagle Dynamics have gained so much momentum now that Sonalysts may see an advantage to working with them or licencing the software. I think it would fit well with the current maps and also future maps and would, I suppose, be a development of Combined Arms. I have to admit to really missing Dangerous Waters - trying to run it on Win 10 is dreadful. N
  3. I know this may seem a little a little odd for this forum but I have wondered for some time now whether DCS World could be expanded to include a little more naval operations. Some years ago a group called Sonalysts produced a series of submarine simulators the last of which was Dangerous Waters. This sim had many of the characteristics of DCS in that it was highly immersive, could be used in a milsim fashion and required a lot of effort to get good. I think a modern version would be a good fit for DCS World. Sonalyst have not updated the software for years and it won't even run on Windows 10 without a lot of hacking. My question is. Is there any scope for a third party developer to approach or work with Sonalysts to migrate and update the software to make it a DCS World Module? Dangerous Waters still has a large player base and active Steam forum. Would there be sufficient interest from DCS users? The nearest currently available submarine sim that comes close is Cold Waters but sadly this does not even approach the complexity and immersiveness of Dangerous Waters. I would be grateful for any thoughts from you all. www.Sonalysts.com Many thanks Nick
  4. I have just spent 3 weeks trying to find the cause of jitters in DCS World. At first I thought it was a beta issue but it was happening in release as well. After reading this thread I realised that it was my new Sony AG9 on the network spiking the NVidia 2080TI as described. Disconnecting from the network solved the problem. I don’t know if this is a Windows 10 issue, a DCS issue, a Sony issue or what but it urgently needs looking at please. As not being able to multiplay will be a big issue for me. Also authentication relies on an internet connection even though you do get a 2 day lease from stored info. Thanks for tracking this down - genius! Nick Update 28/03/2020 Following URFIR3D's process I actually tracked down the spike to a new wireless HP Printer not the Sony AG9 & soundbar.
  5. Thanks for this, I will keep an eye on the Razbam product. Cheers
  6. Hi, Apologies if this question has been asked before but I am interested to know what is happening with this module. On my DCS World splash screen it is still reported as being in beta. Is this the end state for this module or are there plans to move this to full parity with modules like the A-10C or F/A-18. Many thanks - Nick
  7. English please I can quite see why, for the sake of realism, ED use Russian for this module but, for learning it makes things very awkward. For the money English should be an option. I will really have to think twice about buying “Russian” modules in future. Please can we have English versions of the training missions and radio communications. Thanks
