  1. well seems i loose it frequently. I guess it just says i need to practice with the scenarios that i have until it sticks lol.
  2. Well something just clicked. I setup a headon with mig-21. for some reason things just started to come back. I was able to predict power requirements, finding the turn circle ect. I thought it was fluke. Did it again 4 times. I then did the same setup but with both of us with IR missles only. Same Stuff. I was on him and just toyed before releasing a ir. I then moved up the ranks of enemy and then to a mig 29. Same thing. Then i got smoked a few times. All these were on rookie enemy but i feel much better. So strange it just clicked in.
  3. yes, im doing guns only. I appreciate your response. Just thinking im just getting too old. Which is still possible lol
  4. Hi. I purchased the F-16 a while back. I've enjoyed this plane as im a old Falcon 4 player. When i mean old, im in my mid 60's. I started flying sims back in the early 80's. When i played Falcon 4 for a while, i got fairly good at managing the aircraft. My Dogfighting skills were ok. I could keep up with the AI enemys. After i purchased the F16 in DCS, i found that i was really rusty with dogfighting. After a period of playing, the old skills seamed to come back. Now after 2 years away and flying with VR again (Quest 2 now, used to be a Rift), seems everything has gone away again. I struggle to stay with the AI in a turning fight. Seems the only thing i possibly could keep up with is a Ultralight. I've lost the energy management, finding the turn circle, and basically anything else to win a fight. Back early on, you could feel when to add power, when to turn, when to relax g's, and energy management what just normal everyday thing. Things just clicked, felt normal. Does anyone else feel like this with a fair amount of experience with dogfighting and being away for a fair amount of time. Just seems as hard as i try, i just cant get it back lol.
  5. hi guys. I fly with VR and thought i'd mention a app i downloaded for my ipad. I wanted a more tactile feel when i want to click buttons and switches instead of using my mouse. I found this Ipad app called remote mouse. It turns your ipad into a mouse gamepad so instead of having to use the regular mouse, i just take my hand off the stick or throttle and use my finger on the ipad in between my stick and throttle to press buttons or switches. you download the app to your ipad and a server app to your windows computer and the ipad connects to that and then becomes a mouse gamepad. works pretty good. Now if i could find a way to disable the blue cross thing on the screen that moves the cursor with my head i'd be all set. FYI.
  6. I want to confirm that the joystick keypress was too fast. Added a 500ms delay between press and release. Works fine now.
  7. Great thought....I'll put a delay into my joystick program
  8. Im having a issue using TOO mode on the F18 Harm with the Open Beta. I see the emitters on the TOO mode page and I have the diamond on the top right of that page. I can change which emitter that i want to target, however i'll hit the cage/uncage button a dozen times before it will hand off. Once the handoff happens i can destroy the emitter. Most cases im less than 15 miles away and about 4k to 6k altitude. I even have issues at 20K. I'm sure im doing something wrong but not sure what it is. Any help is appreciated.
  9. Thanks guys....i just wanted to know if this was the exception or its more common. I was a pilot, however my Resolution in the cockpit then was way better than in VR lol ;)
  10. Hi guys. Just wanted to pass on my experiences with VR and see what others are doing. I only fly DCS with VR. The sim does a good job with VR and it is a incredible experience. I'm a older man (60) and have been into computers since the late 70's. My Gaming started in 1980. Graphics have come a loooong way since then. Been flying simulators since the first ones came out. The VR experience is incredible and very immersive. The only issue i have is that the resolution is a bit low. I end up flying missions with tags turned on using the Dot option. Without the dot option, seeing missles flying at you are very hard to see as well as seeing a mig 6 to 8 miles away. Ground attack is also difficult as seeing the ground targets is hard. I was wondering if others have to use this option as well? I suspect that VR will move on to higher resolution, however the graphics cards will have to get allot more powerful and more expensive. Heck a good graphics card is approaching $1k now lol.
  11. Open Beta Issue/Question Hello...Im not sure where i would post questions regarding the open beta. I was wondering if anyone can verify if the cluster bombs are working as they should in the Open Beta with the F18C. I have no issue with the release version, but when i drop them now they seem to just hit the ground and never pop open at the height that i set for dispersal. Not sure if the procedure has changed or im just screwing something up but it does work properly in the release version
