  1. I've done missions 1,2 and 5 so far. Was actually thinking about trying this one tomorrow morning (sunday). If I try it I'll let you know what happens.
  2. got a link to the thread you meant to put it in? I'd like to read it.
  3. This thread is funny. I always stare at the basket, I didn't change any of my curves once, I learned on the S-3, I stare thru the HUD the entire time. I don't have any issue with AAR at all. I woke up an hour early for work everyday for a week and practiced. The first day I just tried holding position behind the tanker. Then worked on just hitting the basket not worrying about how long I styed connected. Then try to stay connected for 10 seconds, ect. By Friday I could hit the basket and top off every time, baby steps. Two years later I can hit the basket inverted and top off. There is nothing to this except to practice and don't get frustrated. I also try to hit the tanker and do one trap everyday (w. some exceptions occasionally) just to keep the skills from deteriorating, because they will if you don't use them.
  4. that weird because my overlay doesn't vacate until i'm past #4 wire.
  5. The end of the angled deck. They taught me to aim right in the crotch of the ship, right where the angled deck meets the bow. In close though it's way more important to be flying the ball and not worry so where the VVI is so much. You should be getting an IFLOLS overlay to see the ball in VR no?
  6. this is still an issue after the last patch.
  7. planes at night time are too easy to see now. They are lit up like a parking lot even with their lights off
  8. It's happening in my mission on the Caucuses map too. I have a thread in the object errors forum. I didn't notice they were oriented North/South until someone pointed me here. In mine the ships are invisible but if you look closely their shadows are rendered in the water in a N/S orientation.
  9. hi the link you provided has shed light on the problem. The ships are oriented pointing north! I took a closer look and I can see the ships shadows rendered in the water. I provided a copy of the miz below for inspection. Training.miz
  10. I experienced this recently between angels 15 and 25. I've dropped these with no issues before well over angels 30. I've tried a few times to reproduce for a track file and no luck so far. I was on an MP server as well when it happened.
  11. I built a mission a few months ago involving a strike on the Soviet carrier while it was docked in the port at Novorossiysk in the Caucuses region. Placing the carrier in the port and tied to the wharf, the boat is invisible but the smoke from it's chimney is still rendered. Moving the boat out of the docks and out into the bay in open water the boat is rendered properly. I tried with both versions of the Kuznetsov and another soviet ship which I can't remember the name of but it looked like it had many SA-10's strapped all over it. It was a pretty fun mission to try to get through the heave defenses and hit the carrier while it was under "repair". But it's not really worth playing in this state.
  12. I forgot that this problem was pre-supercarrier on-board the Stennis. It would seem the supercarrier does not have this problem. I just checked and the LSO still falls through the Stennis LSO platform But aboard the Teddy Roosevelt everything is fine.
  13. i tried placing some on the platform, they fall through and the sharks get 'em.
  14. Ya they we're actually missing long. I didn't think about the release point at all. Regardless it doesn't seem to be a consistent problem. Mine usually hit too, but I don't typically put trucks on top of mountains for targets. I though the extra elevation might be affecting me. Thanks boys!
