  1. Hello, can someone explain to me what technology is behind it? I believe C-Scope is simply radar targets displayed on the HUD (IHADS), right? but what is behind LINK and ZOOM? I would be grateful for any information about this. Kind regards, Dagobert
  2. at least the thread here is labeled as "later in early access". So it is planned before the Apache is finished. My guys are all pilots, nobody wants to be gunners. At the same time, babysitting George is very exhausting, especially in combat situations. Also, it is extremely immersion-destroying when you have to slave George every 5 seconds in transit flight so that you don't get destroyed by a surprise Shilka or Manpad.
  3. The problem was apparently on my side. Restart PC...didn't work. BUT Restarting the router and transfer point worked. Why the DCS site (as the only one) was not accessible is a mystery to me. Network experts here? Now it's working again.
  4. I've had it for the umpteenth time now. In the last few months, https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ has been going down again and again. Every time, not over a two hour period, NO... over the entire day. Every time I can no longer open multiplayer. Clearly ED has a problem. <profanity> happens once, twice... but somehow it slowly turns into a tear of bad luck. Every time I want to fly with my friends, DCS is down.
  5. This must be a bug that came in with one of the last patches. --->Simply set the infantry (black hawk crew) to immortal. I can assure you that this will not affect the mission. It's mainly about protecting the rescue convoy. I wouldn't do anything more to solve the bug.
  6. I wouldn‘t say they are useless..... BUT---> they are, unfortunately. I play DCS Liberation and "the AI makes stupid mistakes" is the main reason why I lose units. The Wingman topic is particularly sad. In airplanes, the AI as a wingman is at least occasionally able to fly a full mission without crashing for no reason. But in a helicopter....oh man... That's quite an insult. The AI can't do anything...not fly straight, not fight or avoid danger. It flies into every obstacle, it constantly flies into the attacking range of enemies when it attacks itself and is then shot down bluntly. A disaster.
  7. Casmo a former Apache pilot says. Hovering is death. There are very few popup maneuvers that are effective. The biggest problem with hovers is that you can easily be taken down by hidden infantry. Even an overlooked battle tank can hit a helicopter with its main gun if the helicopter is hovering in place. Hovering is too dangerous. Self-protection always comes before effect... ALWAYS. Because a destroyed Apache no longer makes any kills.
  8. The AI's ability to snipe the player out of the sky, AIMBot-style, with incredible accuracy is part of the problem. Even with manuel aimed weapons, it behaves as if it were radar assisted. Even with AKs... That's a big part of the problem. i.e The AI is superhumanly precise, even at the lowest skill level. If she fires at you, the projectile's trajectory is perfect. Only when you fly a curve or actively try to dodge, the shot misses. I had anti-aircraft shooting in my army training. Aim with Manuel, without technical support. From experience I say that even if the target flows straight, most shots miss. In a 0 stress situation without adrenaline and fear.
  9. The rockets suck. However, I tested a mission concept in Syria where a friendly position are attacked by dozens and dozens of infantrymen (in waves) and tactical jeeps. you had to defend this position with your Apache. A single Rocket even remotely close to a 12 man infantry group and everyone is toast, EVERYONE RIP. In this scenario, rockets are KING. But in no other unfortunately.
  10. No, nothing is currently in the works. But I'm planning a campaign in Syria as soon as the Apache finally gets his Longbow.
  11. THIS IS THE WAY! You have the right to do whatever you want with it! I even appreciate the interest, effort, and work you're putting into improving the experience! Thanks very much!
  12. Of course this is a bug. Apache is not a hover attacker. All real Apache pilots say that you should always attack while moving. However, I cannot explain how this bug was NOT known in advance. But it doesn't matter. A change (in the code) may have caused it at the last second. This definitely needs a hotfix..... ED? Could someone please tell me what's going on.
  13. I can confirm that. George as CPG Doesn't hit anything with the L's. really really bad.
  14. Yes, the Tacviews and the pictures were an enormous help to assess the situation. For example the hinds sneaking up on you. I would have thought it was a BMT or a T72 with the smoothbore Missle. Only thanks to the Tacview, I see that it was a Ninja Hind^^ Thanks again for the vids! It was great to see another group flying the missions. A group where the mission builder (Me^^) isn't there and can explain everything exactly what's going on. So a group playing the campaign "Blind". Thanks! One question: were there any points in the campaign where you didn't know what to do because the briefing or the ingame voiceovers didn't give enough clues as to what to do?
  15. I'm looking forward to see you guys fly the final mission! It would be nice if you could cut it so that you can hear all the radio messages and also the credits and "victory music" at the end when you've done it.
