  1. My apologies, I misspoke. I have SSW enabled in VD not ASW. The reason I locked the fps at 60 is because I couldn't get to 72 fps so I locked it at 60 in an attempt to fix the stuttering issue. It had no impact but increasing resolution and turning on SSW did the trick so I may go back and set it back to 72 or unlock it all together.
  2. I also seemed to find a fix for the stutter. Oddly enough, INCREASING the resolution and turning on ASW eliminated my stuttering issue almost completely. What's even more odd is OXR Toolkit reports my FPS at a solid 37 FPS while VD reports my average FPS around 60 (which is what I have locked). Not sure which one is accurate but it's buttery smooth with very little stutter now so I'm not going to complain about it. But honestly I think my success is more to do with ASW than the higher resolution because I was playing around with the resolution a bit afterwards and it didn't seem to impact my FPS one way or another so I'm not sure OXR toolkit resolution is even working properly. But I know it absolutely impacted my stuttering issue because I did notice a positive impact by increasing it before I turned on ASW. Very strange.
  3. Diego999 put me on the right track. Just had to opt out of PTC and turn off automatic updates. Works fine now
  4. That version. I will try opting out of the PTC and reinstalling. Thanks for the tip
  5. So my VR woes continue since the last DCS update. I finally gave in and purchased virtual desktop since I was experiencing so many issues connecting with Air Link. The good news is virtual desktop connects my Quest 3 to DCS perfectly. The bad news is it's micro stutter city to the point that it's unplayable even though I'm getting a solid 60-70 FPS. I've tried every graphical setting possible. I've tried lowering the bitrate. I made sure all of my cores were unparked on my CPU. I tried different Codecs and every setting imaginable and found no joy. So finally I said screw it, I'll just abandon my wireless ambitions and go back to the link cable. The only problem is now DCS immediately crashes when I try using the link cable. I thought maybe the VD Streamer was causing a conflict but even if I shut that down, DCS world will not launch in any form- MT nor ST. Anyone know a solution to this issue?
  6. Same here. I noticed a big dip in fps and graphic quality a few weeks ago. But both Meta and DCS released a patch pretty close together so I'm not sure which is to blame. Perhaps both to some degree. Although I have read on the forums that many actually saw a boost in VR fps after the latest DCS patch. Guess we were the unlucky ones lol.
  7. I agree, but they just aren't there graphically when it comes to standalone games in my opinion. Asgards Wrath 2 is their current flagship and although it is pretty fun, it looks like a PlayStation 2 game at best. It's really sad that they have moved away from PC development because if you go back and look at some of those games like Robo Recall or Lone Echo, they make Quest 3 games look like poop. lol I did have success using the link cable for DCS yesterday. But one the main reasons I purchased the Quest 3 was to utilize the PC over WIFI feature because I play quite a few other PC VR games. I'm going to give in and throw down the cash for virtual desktop because I'm just tired of dealing with Meta's inconsistencies. Just sucks because the whole reason I waited for the Quest 3 to upgrade is because I felt like Meta would surely have worked out the kinks by now but it still feels very much like a dev kit.
  8. No, it's not connecting to the desktop oculus app. it just indicates that it is linked to my PC in the Quest link app. But when I launch it, I just get the 3 white dots and then an immediate crash back to the Quest home screen. Launch it again and then it just hangs on the screen with the 3 white dots. It did the exact same thing a few weeks after i purchased it way back in October after the first major Meta update. I finally got it working again a few weeks later by disconnecting from the internet, deleting all oculus files in safe mode and reinstalling the oculus desktop app. That isn't doing the trick this time unfortunately. Steam link works perfectly fine though oddly enough as was the case the first time around. Really annoying that Meta can't seem to implement their own features with any type of consistency while 3rd party apps like Steam link and VD have no issues. I hate the idea of having to pay for a 3rd party app just to use the advertised built in features of a 500.00 headset.
  9. Did you lose progress with your Quest 3 games when you did the factory reset? That's the one reason I have avoided doing that. A clean delete and reinstall of oculus software in safe mode did not help me this time unfortunately. Says headset is connected, but then I just get the 3 white circles of death spam. So I'm thinking I may have to do the factory reset as well.
  10. I'm going to give virtual desktop a go this weekend. Just frustrating because I think I have everything dialed in and then an update destroys my peaceful Eden lol And it's rarely a simple fix. Coming from the Rift S, I held out for a long time before upgrading and honestly, I don't believe VR has made much progress. Yeah the resolution is a little better but at what cost? These things are more finicky than ever. Plus, aside from simulation games like DCS, they have made very little progress in the gaming sector in the last 5 years. Playstation is shutting down their VR development facilities, Quest Pro fell flat, Apple releases a ridiculously expensive headset that's yet again nothing more than an "experience" and Pimax appears to be falling short of their promises as well. I'm afraid VR is about to slip away into obscurity. And that sucks because I can't fathom playing DCS without it. Also, AAA Devs are jumping ship left and right. Hopefully there is a strong enough market for VR in simulations to keep it going because it's failing miserably everywhere else in my opinion.
  11. Just venting a little bit here, but I'm curious if others are having the same issues. I purchased quest 3 day one and as an upgrade to the Rift S, I was initially very pleased with the results. Then the Meta updates came and loads of problems with them. My Quest 3 started having connection issues with my PC and I was forced to use the link cable. Then finally, it just stopped connecting to my PC altogether. I went through about 2 or 3 weeks of hell trying various settings, router configurations, uninstalling, reinstalling and then finally after doing a 100% uninstall through safe mode (for a 2nd time btw), I finally got it going again. Worked great until a few weeks ago and then I started noticing a lot more aliasing in DCS world. In all fairness, I'm not sure if it was a result of the last DCS update or Meta. So I've been tweaking various settings and yep- you guessed it, started having connection issues and now it won't connect at all yet again through airlink or link cable. I guess I'm looking at doing a complete safe mode uninstall again. So at this point, I'm just curious if others are experiencing similar issues or if i just got a lemon here. So freaking frustrating.
