  1. Miles or not the $56 price tag seems more than fair to me. It is cheaper than the Mirage and is a model of a much newer air frame.
  2. With so many features being added to all of DCS' modules, the training missions seem to suffer in lack of updates to include new features. This makes learning a module harder than it should need be! And while there are YouTube creators and content out there in the wild. It is a huge pain to scour the net to find something that should be in the training to begin with. Pleas oh please on bended knee upgrade your training missions so we can all be better pilots.
  3. There is an amazing TWCS Bearing upgrade kit on ETSY that is a must have for that throttle. It can be found here = https://www.etsy.com/listing/968346749/slider-upgrade-kit-thrustmaster-t16000m?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=twcs+upgrade+kit&ref=sr_gallery-1-3&edd=1&pop=1&organic_search_click=1 As for a better Stick that the Thrustmaster I recommend the KVB Evo. It is the best mid range stick out there. It has many buttons and adjustable clutching and also comes with different spring sets to customize to your liking. If your a Helo only person you can even take the springs out all together.
  4. Ibuypower & cyberpower pc are good places to start if shopping for a new PC. That said your 1080ti will run a quest 2 on dcs just fine. Using a quest 2 you will want to get "Neck Saver" so you can check six.
  5. I was going to start a topic on this and see there is one. George constantly crashes the Apache when I am in the CPG seat. If I ask him to hover so I can search for targets he fails to control torque and nothing to stop a stall once it starts. He's crashed me at low alts and high alts at fast speeds and slow speeds it does not matter. Also in Combat Mode when I've asked George to break right or left he likes to drive the Apache right into the ground. Poor George needs to concept of how to manage his torque and have some understanding that the ground should be avoided. And no, I don't have track files because I have anger issues and rage quit when ole George crashes me into the ground.
  6. Weapon Utility page, make sure the Laser is armed. That said; I've had this issue as well after changing a load out on instant action. I'm not sure if it is a bug or an error on my part.
  7. Your the monkey in the cockpit that is suppose to be paying attention. =P
  8. These might help. I can't take credit for them. Think I found them in the User Downloads. APACHE_PILOT_V3-3.pdf APACHE_CPG_V3-2.pdf
  9. A person needs to take into account that everyone runs on a different system. When it comes right down to it, YOU the user are responsible for your OWN optimization. By that I mean your are limited by a host of factors on your end rather than the developers programing. Your CPU, GPU and RAM will always dictate what you can and can not do. If you are biting off more than your PC can chew then it is up to YOU to scale things back. Mission editing and latency also play a role. And latency can be a real killer if your high ping.
  10. I use a TWCS throttle with bearing upgrade and just reverse the direction, rather then push forward I'm pulling back and it works just dandy! But, at the end of the day the devices we put our hands on really effect the immersion value. So it will be down a persons want/need vs budget. If your a smart cookie there is always Arduino and the 3D printer and building your own!
  11. What quarter of 2022 can we expect the F-4? Is it coming sooner or later?
  12. HUD pitch ladder brightness doesn't seem to be working. While flying instant action in the Nevada free flight it sets you up flying at dusk. The hud gives green glare and when I attempt to adjust the huds brightness rolling the dimmer switch has zero effect on the hud. I'm running an older Nvidia gtx 1070 and seem to recall there may be a setting that needed to be changed? Not sure. Is this a bug or an operator malfunction on my part? Added a photo. The green blob really makes it hard to see!
  13. If I were a betting man, I'd say we may not see the Apache until Valentines day.
  14. I doubt it. The Apache has to carry a lot of weight for its own weapons load. It is a tool designed for a specific job and sling loading ain't one of them. That said, I'm not ED and am just offering my own guess.
  15. If it is a system already modeled in the A-10 II I don't see how modeling it is "sensitive" for the Apache, it isn't like people are looking under the hood of how the "real" thing works. And as I recall from past discussion data link was coming down the road, just not in early access.
  16. Opentrack is pretty straight forward and many influencers have posted about setting it up for DCS. However sometimes a problem may arise and it will help to have a place to share the problem I ran into and how I had to fix it in case some of you run into it as well. Recently opentrack just stopped for me in DCS and nothing I did seemed to fix the issue. When opentrack is working properly with DCS it will call itself "BlackShark" and when it quits working it will say "unkown game". If this happens to you, like it did me, it means your profiles have somehow become corrupted. For me at least I think it happened from upgrading my opentrack version. To fix it you will need to find your profiles which are default to the documents folder under opentrack. You may be able to get away with just deleting them and starting fresh. But for me, I uninstalled and re-installed opentrack and set up a new DCS profile. BUT IT WORKED. Hope you find this helpful! Good luck and happy flying!
  17. I just purchased the Jug in the sale for the fall 2021 sale with the channel map. To answer the titles question of "What's wrong with the Jug, why so little interest ?" I will say why I've waited this long to get the Jug. ( For the record I'm an older player 48 yrs old if that matters ) 1) What you need to fly war birds. - You have to have a ww2 map(s) and the ww2 assetpack ( Which I still don't have ) and a plane(s) module. 2) The P-47 has a lot going on! By that I mean trying to fly it is a bit like trying to pat your head and rub your belly and fly a plane at the same time. I've flown the Jug on some free to try trials and found it challenging. ( Not that, that is a bad thing! ) But it was intimidating to me. So rather than making the P-47 my first ww2 module I went P-51. 3) Money- For those of us that don't own every module out there yet, you end up making a mental order of priorities. I would LOVE and WILL own every module eventually, but I tend to wait for the sales. With the complexity ( in terms of ww2 aircraft ) I think it makes sense that people would go after the Spitfire/P-51 before the P-47.
  18. Or you could be a good friend and buy him the module as a gift. Tis the season.
  19. This line of discussion is why I love DCS so much, the level of realism put into the official modules is so good. Helicopters can be very "frustrating" in DCS until you learn about ground effect and transitional flight and effects like vortex ring state and how torque and weight effect your virtual helicopter. Chucks Guides at Mudspike are a good place to start. Learn what your gauges mean and what they are telling you. There are also great videos on YouTube from DCS players that also fly or have flown real helicopters that explain the physics going on.
  20. I think it is safe to say the issues are an operator malfunction. And no fault of the Mi-24 its self.
  21. Polychop is a grand total of 3 guys. So yeah, they will need time to get their coding done. And even if the Kiowa was close to being done it makes financial sense to wait until after the apache release to release their product. My thought is they want to release a completed module of high quality to assure its success, and the Kiowa has some stiff completion as we just had the hind and now apache. Honestly a staggered release makes sense as it gives us time to play with and get used to each module before another one drops in. So it makes more sense to see the Kiowa coming into DCS a few months after the apache. So an educated guess might be 1st or 2nd quarter 2022.
  22. I was at "Shut up and take my money!" with the first teaser video. I don't think there has been another module teased as hard as this one.
  23. Yeah, I'd like to see a class action against Amazon and Ebay for the price gouging they allow. And the rest of ya need to stop paying those prices because yer part of the problem.
  24. Mistermann you are my hero! I have the TWCS and have been considering a replacement, but this may just be what I need. I've avoided multi-player because I felt I needed a warthog hotas and with the pandemic finding the throttle and stick combo has been impossible! So I ordered this, not from CoreHawk3D sadly but his competitor. The other guy has more options and better detents. So my mod came 10/20/21 and I ordered one with the LM8LUU bearings. I HIGHLY recommend these bearings for DCS! The longer bearings are more precise and give a tactile feed back you can feel to make minute changes. Not only is this great for refueling but the biggest improvement I had was my ability to fly helicopters. With the standard TWCS I would run into trouble often in the transition from flight to hover and would often drop like a brick. Now, with this bearing mod I am one with the Helicopter and can land right where I want! I'm loving it! This modification is a MUST HAVE if you own this throttle and play DCS. You WILL NOT regret it. It elevates the quality of the TWCS to that of its higher end brothers. And it is great for budget minded people.
