It probably is that one mission. There's a whole lot of stuff going on there. You've got ground units and airplanes all over the place you got a sh**ton of triggers. it's a very complicated mission. Like I said I managed to open it but it wouldn't run well. I'm just about out of ideas so if you're doing okay on other missions then the problem is probably just that one particular mission there's only so much that any computer can handle. You may have just reached the end of your rope. 😎

  2. @Roady

Your test mission is pretty heavily populated. Not really a good test subject and not one that just anyone can run.

I don't have the F-16 and I don't have combined arms. I got it to open, but my poor little 1660Ti couldn't handle it.

Do you have the stuttering problem with all missions or just this one? If so, then send me a lighter mission that shows the issue.

How are your memory sticks installed? If you only have two sticks they must, be separated, not side by side.

This is your Mobo. Install the sticks as shown.

Yeah. I'm kinda' stuck too. I'm leaning towards deleting affinity, (It is a program right??)

Go into BIOS and reset the system for ultimate defaults or whatever your mobo calls it.

In other words, go back to stock mobo settings. Leave the virtual memory & Afterburner where it is.

I'll help you with Afterburner settings later. It takes some time to set it right. Meantime, download MSI Kombuster.

    It works with the Afterburner.

    • PBO is for  Power Boost Overdrive, an AMD CPU option to boost CPU frequency (for some PCs, DCS does not like it, but you can give it a try).
    • ReBar is for Resizable BAR, a motherboard option that can be used with NVIDIA 3000 and 4000 series.

Both can be enabled in the motherboard BIOS.

Thanks Flappie, now I need to know what affinity is. Roady keeps dodging my question.

Tried all of these suggestions except enabling PBO and Rebar. No difference. My game is on the main windows drive. I installed afterburner so I'm ready whenever to overclock my 3080. Still not sure what's going on. Also thank you for the help. I don't know what the problem is but this has still been helpful

Sorry about the late response, I've been working on my income taxes. If you are in America, you know what I mean.

I'm a little lost here. What is affinity? I don't know what PBO and Rebar is either.

Did you adjust the virtual memory on your main drive as I suggested?

  6. @Roady

Yes, custom will open a box where you can change the size.

Is your game on your main Windows drive or the new volume?

Set both for 65536 and the same for maximum.

Do you have MSI Afterburner? If not, download it and I'll walk you through it.

It will over clock your 1660 Ti safely.

It may not be possible to eliminate 100% of all stutters, but we can at least minimize them to a tolerable level.

I have found that since MT came out, the stutters I have are much smoother and less noticeable with these settings.

Tried to set the task manager priority and even cut the core affinity in half. Here's my game replay. I don't understand why it keeps stuttering like that. It goes from being totally fine to stuttering every few seconds which makes the gam

I have asked you twice about the virtual memory and you didn't answer me. If you don't know what it is and how to set it.

here is a short video I made for you. Believe me, unless you have something else going on this will really help to get rid of stutters.

This and the pri9orty to high in task manager. You may have to set priority every time you open the game.

    I have 64GB on 2 sticks

I'm talking about your page file, not physical memory.

With 64 on two sticks, you should have  64 X 1024 = 65536 page file.

DCS is sensitive to not enough page file (virtual memory)

Another thing you might try is Task Manager/Details right click on DCS. exe (game must be on) and select set priority High.

    Hello,

I've read just about every thread so far on this issue and still can't seem to get rid of the CPU bound along with stuttering frame rates and basically unplayable conditions on Syria and Caucasus (Marianas and PG seem to be playable yet still with some stutters oddly enough?). I have a Ryzen 9 5900x, Gigabyte RTX 3080, 64gb Ram, a 2TB SSD, and I'm running Windows 11. I've tried turning SMT mode on/off on Bios settings, I've tried using NCP to change framerate settings and threaded optimization and what not, I've updated drivers and the bios itself, I've tried slow and fast repairs along with deleting the saved games folder and running repairs, etc. Is anyone else still having issues after trying all of these things? I'm basically at the end of the road on what to do and really can't figure out what the problem is.

Just for Grins and Giggles how much virtual memory are you running?

    Bonjour,

Ok we saw the problem and it works now we will make a fix very soon thanks guys

OK on a vu le problème et cela fonctionne maintenant  on va faire un correctif très vite merci les gars

It is now the end of March and the German planes are still not there.

They show in the mission editor, but not in game.

Only the German Mods are missing, (He-111, Ju-188 and the Ju-87 Stuka) all others are still there. I was flying the F4U earlier today.

Hi @rayrayblues. Have you tried running DCS wih mods disabled already? I see you have quite a few. Sometimes they don't work well together.

Yes I have. I was just curious as I haven't had a problem with this particular mission or set of mods.

I did have a lot of Random Air Traffic scripts running. Could that have been the culprit also?

I was mostly curious about the log file. I never could make sense of them.

  12. Today I was playing and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, my frames dropped to 9-10.

They stayed that way for approx. 5 to 10 minutes and then, all of a sudden, out of nowhere they went back to normal. ~60-70 Ish.

There is a lot of interesting info on the log page, so if somebody can translate, please? Thank you in advance.

    Ray

    Edit, Additional thoughts:

When the frames drop in MT, it just slows down to a smooth slow motion not like a jerky slide show

which is what I'm used to with ST.

I think I should try making them all one unit/group.  I currently have 2 destroyers, 5 cruisers, and 2 carriers (each their own).

But even if I do that, this should have worked as well..

Yes. Make them all one group.

Some doubts about stuff I don't really know much - being my objective decrease stutters :

    - OpenGL GDI compatibility : should I choose 'performance' instead of 'automatic' ?

    - Vulkan / OpenGL : which mode should I choose ?

    Auto on both,

    Hi TJ,

sorry about my recent absence, I got called away on some family matters.

How are you doing so far? I tried working with the CV-59 and I noticed that

I got lower frames overall than on the SC. Empty deck or crowded didn't make a difference.

At first I got 30 FPS on an empty ship, Then it started to work itself out and I got as high as 73.

Might be something going on with that ship.

My Supercarrier works well. Frames in the 30's and very, very little stuttering.

Have you deleted the contents of the FXO & metashaders2 folders? Are you still using the

"High Priority" settings in Task Manager? (You have to re-enable it every time.)

Let me know how you are doing.

  15. @Flappie

My game works ok, but I have a similar issue with Nvidia driver.

I updated from 526.47 to 531.29 and I couldn't start my computer. It froze at the logo screen.

It just wouldn't boot. I left it in the logo screen for 15 minutes and finally it booted. (slowly)

I rolled back to 526.47 and it is now back to normal.

Does this mean that I can no longer update my card?

Am I stuck with this driver forever? It works just fine.
