  2. Is there a pilot in DCS:A-10C ? Hi, through observing videos from dcs:A-10C on youtube i noticed that noone seems to have enabled the display of the pilot, as is possible in dcs:bs. Is there no pilot in A-10C? Thanks.
  3. The website is still up at: http://www.leadingedgetraining.us/ He released a free first episode in may. During that there were some problems discovered with the shopping system used and that some people were trying to fix that. Since then nothing really happened. No news via his twitter feed and abandoned forums :P.

Hi. i plan on doing a reinstall of dcs:bs theese days and apply the new patches. regarding this i would like to backup my control-schema (jostick-settings, button assignments, ..) and possible my settings (water detail level, ...). I was wondering in what file(s) these settings are stored, so i can back them up. As a bonus question: in the past i did some editing to a file which resulted in increased civil traffic. i would like to back up that file too, but i don't remember the path/filename anymore. Thanks. Merry x-mas.

  7. SNAFU, i think you are correct. That seems to be the problem when trying to place them ontop of each other. can only hope for future patches to solve theese kinds of issues :D
  8. i like doing startups. i do them whenever the mission permits it. i also enjoy doing the shutdowns after landing.
  9. How do you get the positioning of the static vehicle group acuratly duplicated like the moving group ? I cannot seem to get a good transition. If i put both groups to "on road" and put the vehicles of each group ontop of each other, the vehicles of the hidden group will appear infront of the static group when its activated instead of at the same position.
  10. Hey. I am trying to set up a small scenario where upon the player entering a trigger zone, a convoi that has been waiting for the pilot will start moving according to set waypoints. I have set the hold time for the convoi vehicle group to 23 hours and then set a trigger like "when player in trigger zone, activate convoi group". However under this condition the group will become invisible before the player enters the trigger zone which i do not want. I want the group to be visible all the time. I also set "Visible before Misson start" to true, yet the group will be invisible non the less. Thanks for advice :D

  13. This sounds a bit asif maybe you are not imediatly retrimming after engaging auto-hover ?
  14. When i started with BS a bit more then a year ago i read that in reality pilots would most of all time not use the FD. Since then i have never even bothered trying it.
  15. Did you retrim after engaging auto-hover ? Did come to a stop before engaging auto-hover ? Are you higher then 4 meters when engaging auto-hover ? Possibly you can post a trk-file for easier analysis. edit: also it is possible that after engaging auto-hover the helicopter cannot remain height and starts to sink if you do not provide enough collective input / use collective altitute assignment.

  17. Hi, i am unsure what this mod does from the description. Am i correct that upon installing this it will replace certain bad-looking textures from aircraft in dcs ? Or does this provide extra skins that i then need to apply to the aircrafts myself ? Also, is this mod compatible with version 1.1 ? Thanks !

  19. you might also want to take a look at the producers note #8 video, that explains the datalink panel pretty well: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=133&scr=products&lang=en I'd suggest watching the other producers note videos too, aswell as watching the ingame "Tutorial" missions. All important systems are explained there.

To add targets to your ABRIS: Locate the Target (with your eyes) Enable the Laser Range Finder If you carry the helmet mounted sight, use it to put the shval near the target Use your HOTAS mapped controls to move the aiming rectangle over the target and adjust its size accordingly Lock the target In the upper row on the Datalink Panel, select the target type (vehicle, Anti Air, Other, Ingress Point) On the Lower row on the Datalink Panel press the SEND MEM button to store the target in the ABRIS. Repeat for all targets To cycle through the targets on the ABRIS, repeatly press the corrosponding target type button on the Datalink panel to switch through them. The currently selected target will blink on the ABRIS map. Once you have targets in the ABRIS you can also automatcly slew shval to them by first selecting the target (see above) and then pressing the DL INGRESS button and then uncaging the shkval through your HOTAS mapped key. - edit: You can also have your wingman discover targets for you through the communication menu. once they find targets and you have the Datalink between you and your wingmen set up correctly, you will receive an EKRAN notice that you have been sent a Datalink Target. The target type and the number of the wingman who sent it will blink on the datalink panel. You can then click DL/SEND MEM button to store them to your abris.

To switch from the Cannon to one of the wing mounted weapons you need to first deactivate the Cannon (i think C is the default key assignment) and then select the inner or outter weapon mount (you can assign keys to them in the options, dont now the default assignment). Depending on your selection either the Outer or Inner leds will then lit up to indicate the selected weapon/mount. Also make sure you have weapons mounted before you take off :D

Hi, if you are refering to installing mods with it, this is how it goes: Click the "Mods installer" Button In the new window on the top bar, press the "Add" labeled Button Select the mod you want to add and then "Open" The mod is now being added to the list on the left part of the window In the Column "state" a red color means the mod is not installed while a green color means the mod is installed. select the mod from the list and click the "Install !" Button on the right part of the window. If all goes well, the state will change to green. You can now exit modman and start playing. If you want to uninstall a mod, select it from the list and press "Uninstall !" Button right beneth the "Install !" Button.
  23. As far as i read, it is not adviced to install the 1.2 patch over the existing installation but rather to first uninstall (including moving away or deleting the bs-folder/file structure) and the reinstall the game and then install the 1.2 patch over the fresh install.
