  1. I am not going to apologize for what i am about to say, but as a former serviceman of my country's armed forces and a current pilot rated on B777, and someone who is fairly competent in DCS, it is people like you that give DCS players a bad name even in the IRL pilot community... even more so when you dare to fly the "ED BETA TESTERS" flag... mind you, ED beta releases have been shit for the last 4 years with obvious bugs that should have been weeded out during testing. seriously, stop behaving like an entitled child when it comes to aviation related matters, no one will spoon feed you anything, as a pilot trainee and pilot you are expected to do your own study and survive with flying colours anytime you are in the cockpit... If you want to talk the talk, please walk the walk... if not, stop pretending to be a pilot online and be humble instead of whining how the IRL guys "bully" virtual sim pilots
  2. now now sir, be gentle, most of us here never flew real planes before, let alone the best damn fighter ever made, please be gentle if you are going to scold me for this :D
  3. the one i saw was 11G in BFM training, written off, to be very fair to the eagle, it was probably a very old airframe (Training Squadron)... I might bbe wrong though... it was the high 11's like 11.5 and above, i forgot to add the + the thing about G's is it is not just the amplitude but also the exposure.... a very very short spike of 20G is not going to do as much damage as 11G over 1 minute... to a structure... just for fun, if you drop your phone from 1m, and measure the G with a professional Accelerometer, you will see a G spike of 200G and above for 0.1 second and nothing breaks (If you are lucky)...
  4. and you like to pretend that poop is chocolate right? Got it.
  5. I am not saying that HB is lazy, doesn't wanna do this yaddah bblah etc... I am saying I hope one day, all them documents, data and legalities become accessible to you guys such that we can get B(UP) and D in the game legally. and also one day for the community and ED to move on and start allowing devs to get creative and make "fantasy" level planes like the Super Tomcat 21 and so on... F-22/F-35/ F/A-37 Talon.... and let the community decide how they want to "balance" the game ... (i.e servers that have and dont have fantasy planes, etc)... that's my vision and hope for dcs... speaking for myself of course... apparently it is not apparent enough for skysurfer who cannot count the I's, Me, MY, to know that i am
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_flight_simulator level D prefered Thank you Very much
  7. I agree with you, not saying i don't, just to share my otherwise not so popular opinon, 1) I spent alot of time on the ace combat series, with bulk of my focus on appreciating the lore and storyline... I however, have never refered to Ace combat and her players as inferior to any other "sim-class" game and their players like some of our commuity people here have. 2) DCS in the very end, is still a game, why so? in my opinion, you need a certain reputable level of endorsement from many departments to even qualify it as a actual simulator software. However, in the games's market, it doesnt take much to call a game a "simulator"... for that matter, many flight related games have been classified and regarded as a "simulator"... heck even goat simulator is a "simulator"... to keep things simple, i just treat DCS as a game... also, it pisses alot of arm-chair pilots (like skysurfer) off which really makes my day.
  8. I speak only for myself... I dont see anyone worth in the DCS community for me to speak up for... IMHO
  9. agree would like to see the data, the USAF has alot of data and reports on real men of genius over-Ging their F-15's at 11G and the airframe bends... one particular case i read, the bbudwiser drinker pulled 11Gs long enough to have the airframe written off...
  10. I would beg to differ, from the way ED has handled DCS, i will be hardpressed to call it a simulator... it's a well developed game i give you that... also, the community can use more people treating it like a game, to tone down the arm-chair pilots. appreciate that you could agree with me on chilling out on the forums... it ssomething we all sorely need now adays, esp when hiding behind a forum account
  11. end of the day, I maintain the Tomcat will always be my Favourtie plane and I appreciate the sheer effort by HB to Produce the module... However, I do question the phillsophy to keep the Tomcat as close to IRL as possible especially when ED has shown to clearly not give any cents about it. end of the day, DCS has a very strong multiplayer demographic, IMHO, it does't make sense to be the only guy flying a ultra-realistic module while all the other modules are space-ships with infinite seeking photon torpedos (an exxageration, but case in point). and this is just my view as someone who treats DCS as a sim-game.
  12. this is the thing i dont like about the community.. that;s really your opnion and you are in no position to declare that as a fact. the glove vanes look cool to me and i want to see them (cosmetically) because in my opinion, they give the A cat here character.... sure i don;t mind waiting for it, heck it can even be the last thing they do before they stop work on the tomcat module and call it completed. Its got nothing to do with that execellent documentary
  13. just for you maxsin, i will give you a nice cut of pie as a fellow tomcat fan. I have flown with many ex-fighter pilot Captains that did training with and against tomcats... i leave you with 4 very memorable quote which changed the way i ACM with my Cat from a Captain who was a Former F-5 Fighter Weapons Instructor and another ex f-16 squadron C.O who flew against F-14A's and B's... they had hud shots with Guns solutions to prove it. "The Tomcat cannot turn for f**k" "After the merge, if I see him (The Tomcat) turn around for me, it is a question of how many circles I need to Fly before Guns, if he runs or climbs, this guy knows what he is doing" "The GE engines didn't really make much of a difference, they did turn tighter thou" "The Thing about the Tomcat is, they will kill you from far before you even see them with the flying telephone pole (phoenix)" and the last special quote "end of the day, it is not the plane, it is the pilot still..." and "The Super Tomcats looked damn good" quotes 1 to 3 were mentioned for the F-15C and E as well... I am not sure about you, I used to think the Tomcat was the best fighter there is... any crap pilot can hop in and win dogfights and what not... truth is, if you know your aerodynamics and aircraft design, the Tomcat and Eagle were not designed to be super-dogfighters... sure they can hold their own, but you need to know what is myth and what is truth and physics... the tomcat will not turn super tight with the flaps or without, it is just not designed to to that.. i can gurantee you, any aircraft made from metal skin and frames... you will wrap shit at 12G and above.... a hard wing design like the F-15 suffers Permenant deformation at 11Gs+ let alone a complex swing wing design like the Tomcat. Just let it go... Snodgrass's stories are nice to hear , but they aint completely true. I am an ex-aicraft designer turned commerical pilot, not an SME, but I am joining everyone else telling you that you have to let go of the fantasy and start loving the Tomcat for what it is... A Massive Turkey that can throw massive telephone poles at other birds while being meh to ok at dogfighting.
  14. i would love to see the glove vanes pop on shedule thou, even thou if it's purely comestic... its one of the unique things about the A cat
