  1. Does the Vought OS2U Kingfisher still work? I can't seem to get it to work when I put it into the mods aircraft folder. EDIT: it just crashes my DCS.
  2. I love this Super Etendard mod so much, thank youuuu!!! flying with the latest version PACK 2021 2.7.2 If possible, maybe next pass could fix a few bugs I have? - - - 1) my axis-wheel brakes do not work. I can only use the keyboard to wheel brake. I can assign my pedals to the wheel brakes just fine, but in game they don't actually do anything. [UPDATE] Solved the cockpit bug-- it was a problem on my side, another mod was bugging the other plane cockpits. 2) somehow, the mig 29 cockpit is showing at the same time as the super etendard cockpit,. both are on top of each other. Do I need to do anything to hide the mig-29 version (or maybe I messed up this installation somehow)? - - - thank you so much! and shooting Exocets is awesome!
  3. how or where do I install this? Is the mod still working? It looks absolutely amazing!
  4. Vulcan is one of my fav planes! How is it going on this mod?
  5. Yes C-2 please! Also E-2 Hawkeye!!!
  6. This is one of my fav planes-- I wish somebody else could take up the work and continue it.
  7. Yes please! I need this plane , it's one of my all time favorites
  8. Note that, the Mosquito had one of the lowest loss rates of any aircraft during the war-- and at the same time it was being used in the most dangerous low level attack runs of any aircraft-- so that combination of stats was simply incredible. At some point the Luftwaffe tried to make a fighter squadron which had the only purpose to fight Mosquitos, but afaik they kinda gave up on it since it was not possible. The speed of the aircraft kept it as fast or faster than the German fighters sent to defend against it. Its speed also made it difficult for AA guns to hit, especially during night attacks. The Mosquito was a plane that could carry more bombload than a B-17 and could fly as fast or faster than a fighter, a very successful combination of abilities. You don't need armor if they can't hit you. The mostly wood construction was helpful in that metal had become a precious resource near the end of the war for the UK, and by making this plane out of wood, it freed up metal to be used in other aircraft. Also, there were thousands of very talented wood furniture craftspeople who could be employed to make these airplanes now, also freeing up the metalworkers to make other planes and weapons. Also, DeHaviland was an expert designer of wood aircraft, and had previously designed a wood racing plane that broke records and beat every other metal racing plane it flew against-- so he could put that design knowledge to use here. Important note-- that wood + laminate is exactly like what a composite type honeycomb structure is that is used on advanced aircraft today. The plane doesn't care if part of the laminate composite comes from a tree, or from a machine. It works the same. Saves a little weight, and is very strong. The Mosquito is one of my all time favorite airplanes, I can't wait to fly it in DCS!!!
  9. I think realistically it would be too much to ask for ED to make a completely accurate final version of the Sea Mosquito, so that is why now I only ask for a tail hook option added to the existing model. Otherwise we would not get anything lol;) For RP, we could pretend it was one of the first test Mosquitos they slapped a tail hook on to see if a carrier landing was possible at all. But really I just want to have the option to create missions using carriers in DCS, and this would probably be the only practical way to get it (other than an unofficial mod). The first test versions of the Sea Mosquito were more like a regular mosquito with a tail hook added. The final version of the Sea Mosquito (which I am not asking for) has changes to the nose shape, and 4 bladed props, and folding wings for carrier deck parking (which looks really awesome btw!:)
  10. Nothing fancy-- please just add a tailhook and we can do the rest landing by eye on carriers for fun! In real life 50 Sea Mosquitos were built and deployed in the Pacific, but the war ended before they could get into the fight. But I love the idea we could come up with our own mosquito battles using the carriers in DCS. https://airscapemag.com/2015/07/26/secrets-of-the-sea-mosquito/
  11. Vought OS2U Kingfisher amphibious landing for coastal areas, esp. the Marianas map please!
  12. Vought OS2U Kingfisher, yes please please please! Especially for the new Marianas map!:)
  13. Actually... YES, you CAN! Maybe it is an update since the very old original post, but you can create a stinger infantry in Combined Arms, and make it player controlled. Then you can run around the map as that little infantry guy and shoot your stinger launcher at aircraft. It is very rudimentary, but I love it! EDIT: I hope someday you can also take over one of those little regular infantry guys, and shoot your rifle at things. I don't care if the controls are so simple, I just think it would be so funny and entertaining to do this inside such an incredible high fidelity combat sim with everything else going on-- have your little low fidelity guy sneaking around haha!
  14. There were 50 Mosquitos made for carrier landing. They were the MK35 type. They were on the way to Japan to help the war in the pacific, but then Japan surrendered before they could be used in combat. They had folding wings, and the same tail hook as the Fairey Barracuda. Some also had a a small "thimble" radar added to the nose (replacing the .303 guns but keeping the 4x 20mm), but I prefer the look of the smooth rounded nose. (Also had 4 bladed props if one must nitpick:) More info about them here: https://airscapemag.com/2015/07/26/secrets-of-the-sea-mosquito/ Maybe... at least add a tail hook option to the existing one for release? Please please I am so excited to fly the Mosquito, that I will be trying to land this thing on a carrier no matter what haha!
  15. I am actually happy to see the delay for upgrading the model. My mosquito will look even more beautiful now!
  16. checking back every day for a pre-sale or any info... looking forward to finally flying a mosquito!:)
  17. I would buy any float plane or flying boat immediately!! Vought OS2U Kingfisher, Curtiss SC1, Aichi E16A1, PBY Catalina, yesss please! Also since there is a EagleII biplane in game, I would love a biplane float plane from WW2, like the Curtiss SOC !
  18. yes please!!! I would buy this right away!
  19. Personally I will NEVER play a game with subscriptions anymore. If DCS goes to subscriptions, I will stop playing it permanently.
  20. Very much looking forward to this, thank you!
  21. ...also I was hoping that if this were a relatively easy thing to make DCS allow ground vehicle placement onto a carrier deck (eg. allow a vehicle to use an existing spawn point for aircraft etc), then maybe there is time for it to be added to the Supercarrier mod they are working on right now. I'd love to try out some scenarios with this in the Persian Gulf map!
