Sokol1_br, Is this the most effective gimbal conversion for the Suncom Talon, or are there some alternatives that fit better. If I want to re-wire the red buttons on the left side of the stick, will this gimbal still provide the needed clearance for buttons, wires, & board? Thanks!!!

Looks like the links for OvGME do not work. Any ideas where I could get the needed files to install this?

I am trying to get JSGME working for the beta copy of DCS. When I run the snapshot it seems to stall out just before the green bar is about 3/4 of the way to the end. Then it sits there for 10mins without moving. Is that normal? I’m running an SSD, so that shouldn’t slow it down. Thanks for any help!!!

Here are the answer to those questions: 1: No, currently I have a GTX 1050ti 2: I would like to stay around $200, so I’ve been looking at buying a pre-owned card off eBay. iRacing is the primary program I run, but I would like to get a little deeper into this using a higher performance card. 3: I am currently driving an Oculus Rift CV1. So, needless to say anything will be an improvement over the current setup. I just want to get something that will perform well for the longest amount of time possible. I know the RTX is the current model, so I would already be a generation behind, but I’m trying to get the most bang for my buck, possible. Any opinions on an AMD GPU? It looks like the RX 5700 series or VEGA 64 are the best balance between performance and cost on the secondary market. Thanks!

Would a 1080 do it? It’s my understanding that a properly overclocked 1070 ti will have almost identical performance to a non OC gtx 1080. I know the 1080 does have a ti model but it seems pretty rare.

Is a GTX 1070 ti good enough to run DCS at fairly high detail and at a decent FPS? I run an OC Ryzen 7 1700X and 16 GB of OC RAM on an x370 motherboard. Thanks!

What are the thoughts on purchasing & upgrading a TM Cougar versus purchasing & upgrading a Suncom SFS throttle/Talon stick? The Cougar is more modern, but is expensive to buy used & seems be be problematic. The SFS/Talon combo has initial lower cost but looks like it may require more extensive upgrades. Essentially, I am trying to figure out if purchasing the more modern Cougar HOTAS is worth the $200 avg. price tag I’ve seen available. Thanks for any insight!

After installing the mod following the readme, I get an error I when trying to start DCS. Are there any know fixes? I think the error said something about a problem with the ‘Content’ file. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

Any opinions on whether the Suncom F-15 sticks and/or throttle are worth looking at purchasing and possibly upgrading. Ideally, I would like an F-18 grip, but it’s my understanding the F-15 is very similar. Thank you all for the feedback, thus far!

I’d be interested in something that is DIY. Are there companies who make plans, or something like that? Just getting into DCS, but have lots of experience with iRacing, so am more familiar with the DIY opportunities in they area.

Ah, okay that crossover makes sense. In the end I’m just trying to get a better ideas of who sells realistic or replica flight controls from real fighters, outside of Saitek, Thrustmaster an the other two companies that have their own threads.

Is there such a thing as 'affordable' flight controls based on actual US fighter control sticks? Currently, I am looking mostly at the Saitek X5x HOTAS systems. I also know that Thrustmasters top-line HOTAS setup has the A-10 & F-18 options. I wanted to know if there were other alternatives to investigate. I am sure this is a common question, but I couldn't find a thread that addressed this specific question. Thank You!!!
