  1. So I thought I'd try out hand tracking with the leap motion thing that attaches to the VR headset, and I'm unsure how to link it all.

Doesa anyone have a similar set up?

I use the PICO 4 in wifi mode, and link the Leap motion to the headset, but when I start VR, I can never see it, and it says device not connected.

If I use the USB c cable to connect the Pico 4, then there's no link to the headset ( I use to recharge batter during use)

Is there an simpletons guide anywhere out there ?

Yep, I added a Ka-52 with only the cannon and a couple of trucks.

If you're using the Ka-52K remember that it defaults to antiship and not CAS.

Yeah I was using the normal Ka-52, she's fine with the missiles, I wonder if I have a conflicting module ?

UPDATE: Seems the old Ka52 Alligator from Hawkeye was causing a confliction, gun's a poppin now !

Interesting!  It's in a pretty good location.

Yeah, I pretty much visited all US FOB's and Airbases during my 18 years there. I think the Northern part of Iraq is the most interesting, it's greener, and obviously before the Kurds shot themselves in the foot, by holding a referendum for Independence a couple of years back, they were 10 years ahead of the rest of Iraq.

Mosul, Tal Afar, Kirkuk, Irbil, Sulaymaniyah (Early 2004, large runway, if a bit un-level, and civilian), Balad (Late 2003).  Those are not including FOBs, which are kind of all over the place.  I can't remember if Q-West was used as an airfield, or just a heliport.

    Heliports, same as Marez (Mosul)
There's currently plans to bring Q-West back online as fully functioning airbase, with ATC etc, I used to work for an Iraq PSC and we took clients there to do the feasability study back in 2021/2022.

I know at least one crusie video from a VFA operating over Afghanistan. Boat-based of course.

Lots of Naval aviation was used in Afghanistan during the War on Terror, my point was that ED are making a map of Afghanistan, when it's landlocked, and unless they encompass Pakistan, then there's going to be no carrier operations available on that map either.

    What about the Aussie ones?

Ausies were based in Tallil, again never seen any on the flight line there. we had a compound on Tallil where we used to stay, now that's not to say they weren't there, most of the fast air was always staged in the HAS's (for obvious reasons) and used at night time, got to see a Kuwaiti F18 up close, real close, when I was on a Maritime contract out of Umm Qasr one day, when it flew over our vessel at tree top height !! We had allegedly strayed into Kuwaiti waters, and caused a massive diplomatic incident, as we had to USNSUPSALV officers on board

Just checked, the RAAF Hornets were based in Qatar

If this is correct, that’s disappointing. No carrier ops at all for Hornet and Tomcat fans. 😢

Remind me again of the water surrounding Afghanistan... Only land based hornets I seen in my 18 years in Iraq were Kuwaiti ones, never seen any operating out of Al Asad, Tallil, Baghdad or Balad, all bases I used to visit on a regular basis

Not sure about the scale, I admit I haven't measured the 3d model. But it benefitted from moving the cat forward, just like for the VSN F-4 and F-14.

Scale is fine, I checked the measurements in MV, it's the Giant Pilot that is overscaled ! 😄

  9. Yeah, it happens on the defaul Forrestal too, with their own F14's I'm guessing it's a bug, it's always one step forwards, and 3 steps back these days with updates !!

The Supercarriers are fine, and face the correct way.. weird as feck !

@joey45 I hear you're the SME when it comes to runway luas and parking spots etc, is there anyway you can make a "parking spots for Dummies" to show..

    1. How you derive the coordinates for final slot ?

    2. How you derive the angle faced on final parking ?

    3. How you make the taxi routes from parking to Catapaults ?

Indeed, this is a very neat tool, once you get yours hands on it. The learning curve is quite steep, in my opinion, because there are so many options and features. But it's very powerful. I confess that I'm far from being an expert when using it 😉

Without derailing TeTe's thread, can you possibly create your own thread, and explain a bit more, and how you chose the paths, the start/end points etc ?

I had imagined that they didn't share these mods, unfortunately I don't know how to load other types of weapons on planes.😌

Just edit the lua to add the particular weapon CSLID onto the Correct Pylon, obviously you need to also have the weapons/base aircraft they cam from to begin with.

I added the JAS Gripen Stormshadows to the default RAF Tornado GR4's for eye candy..

Then used Currenthills ones from the Ukrainian Su24M addon to have them actually work
