  1. The temperature is not really dependent on the time you fly the plane, it is influenced by the throttlesetting and engine design. I've read that the J79 on the F-4F had an option to increase the temperature in the combustion chamber but at the cost of increased wear on the engine.
  2. As far as I know, the Phantom has a ram air System, wich increases the forces on the stick with an increasing airspeed. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but basically you have a ram air duct in the root of the vertical stabilizer (those 2 openings left and right on the front of the stabilizer) and with an increase in airspeed you get more air in wich increases the forces on the stick you need to move the stick. so basically a force feedback. I heard it was done to prevent too large inputs while flying fast which could damage the plane.
  3. Cool Informations But regarding the F 4F, I don't know for sure, but from what i've heard is that the wartime setting wasn't a "melt the engine" setting. It was the normal operation mode of the j79 in the 104, or pretty close to it. At least on the F 4F there was a setting to reduce wear in peacetime. I don't know if this is specific to the MTU build engines or if it even was later introduced in an upgrade (maybe peace rhine or even ICE). I can imagine, that it was only done to our Phantom (I'm from Germany) to reduce maintenance costs and time.
  4. The F-4F had 2 settings for the engines. As you said, one smokey peacetime mode an a less smokey wartime mode. The twi modes had different temperatures. The wartime setting burned hoter which reduced the smoke but also put more stress on the engineparts. I asked if the USAF E's also had this option, but iircc nobody knows about this on the E model, so I would doubt, that we will get this.

  6. A-6's have a launch bar, and I'm fairly confident there where occasions where phantoms and A-6's shared a boat
  7. as far as i know, this is a loadout which wasn't cleared, if you want to carry 2 Phoenix, you can only carry one sparrow.

I would doubt that, what i wouldn't doubt is that we have different styles of flying... but i've said everything i had to say already and until you give me a video of you flying or a track i can't give you any new tips... and I'm still thinking that you're simply bleeding to much energy... but you weren't willing to try my suggestion so i can't help you dude, sorry
  9. Please, just PROVE us wrong. And for real, i don't know a single Person who thinks the cat is underpowered, ok the A is different, but also quite capable, if flown good, but for the B ...
  10. Well you can just send us a DCS Trackfile, i'm happy to have a look at it and maybe find a mistake or we are able to give you tips where you can improve. but for that, we need a trackfile, not tacview, just a .trk if I'm not mistaken
  11. Flaps are a tradeoff, Lift for drag, so you get even slower and have less energy. Just try it without dropping flaps, just use maneuver flaps. if it doesn't work call me stupid and ignore me. but for real, i have no idea left what to do, sorry.

Well I don't know what you do differently, the only thing i can now ask is, do you aim for 360ish kias or do you drop your flaps? if you do the latter one, change to the first option. otherwise i'm afraid i can't help you, I'm really sorry. i can only list my tips energy management, especially power curve i've sent you a few videos, maybe those can help you don't drop your flaps, (following is only my personal opinion) i would consider using them a more advanced tactic, and it seems that trying those shouldn't be your goal for now
  13. What do you do? first you said you drop you flaps, now you say you aim for 360
  14. In case you really want to get into bfm, look up bfm energy management on youtube and maybe in case you don't know the other stuff also videos on bfm theory. first video of a playlist i can recommend: Well you shouldn't drop flaps above 220, and the cat corners better at like 360 ish, at least this is what i aim for. i just use manever flaps and focus on my speed at around 360...

Well you're asking me to write a whole book of possible scenarios... buuut to give you an example, standard cap loadout, 2 aim 9, 3 aim 7 and maybe 2 aim 54, and 2 bags... cap intercept, and in case we get into bfm we drop at least our bags. always drop those if you need to get into bfm altitude and weather, whatever the situation dictates... other situation, moc bfm, at like 10-15k ft asl and a slick jet (maybe only 2 aim 9) but don't focus that hard on weather and altitude, you can't influence these factors in your fight. drop you tanks if you have those and stay above that power curve if you maneuver
