I don't mean to offend anyone, but this performance issue with the Apache is ridiculous. Evert time there's a real issue in DCS, ppl write some long essay suggesting the same old songs about resources, process lasso, lowering settings and all other crapola. The issue is the Apache module itself. All the other jets work fine. The problem is not the user's system, or his resources, or setup......... something is clearly wrong with the apache in VR. All other sims are making solid progress in VR, but DCS seems to be stuck with the same shoddy performance. I'd much rather the DCS devs stop pushing out new modules and maps for a while and work on fixing their poorly optimized software. Just my 2 cents.

Please read what the OP wrote. He said he was getting good performance with all other modules. For what it's worth i'm having a similar issue. Getting over 45fps in F-16 and as soom as i switch to the Apache - even a training mission - the fps tanks to below 20. I'm running an i9 9900K & RTX 3080 on SSD btw..... go figure. Right now i'm regretting I purchased this module. Are refunds possible in DCS?

Same. It's a shame i'm not like the guys in here who are not sensitive to low framerate. I'm jealous. Without reprojection low framerate is unplayable to be -

I could be wrong, but from my experience, a constant 45fps does not equal smooth.....unless you keep your head perfectly still. Again, I've probably become too sensitive to fps. A framerate that low would be quite uncomfortable - consistent or not. I should say though, many, many thanks for the work being put into this. Unfortunately ED has left performance improvements to the skilled community instead of making it a priority themselves. -

I think if you look through the pages, you'd see he is not the only one using motion smoothing - myself included. The experience is not smooth at all for me without reprojection on, and even when enabled, does not appear as smooth as the SteamVR equivalent. I'm having very similar results to @July . I believe some people may not even realize they have it on, as for me, motion reproj was set to auto by default upon installing OpenXR Tools. The image quality seems good with OXR for me, but the lack of suitable motion smoothing is an experience killer for me. FYI, i'm not saying others aren't getting good results - in fact i'm jealous. Perhaps all these ppl are just not as sensitive to lower frame rates? I dunno, but it seems ludicrous to me that 55fps could appear smooth - particularly with side-to-side head movement. I've never wanted to be more wrong...... For what it's worth i'm running 9900K/RTX3070ti/64GB ddR4 on the G2 -

Same for me. Sim is unplayable until reprojection is fixed, so for me, can't use sadly -

The original post said "For the record I was getting a GPU frame time of around 9ms and CPU of around 13ms with SteamVR and I am sitting on 19ish with OpenXR. OpenXR is miles better!" Is this correct? I thought a higher ms frame time meant lower fps? How could getting 19ms with OpenXR be better than 13 with SteamVR? Apologies if i'm reading this wrong. Also, i'm only getting around 70 fps and even with motion smoothing on or auto, the view (& fps) still fluctuates and is not a smooth experience -

Hi MilesD, I checked again and got an email with the tracking #, and a note: "shipping label created, awaiting item", so I guess all is in order. Thanks for the detailed info, and taking the time to assuage my anxiety FP- 3385 replies

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
FiringPin replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So last month I received the Invoice and promptly paid it. When would I get notification of shipment? Not trying to be impatient, but there's a hell of a lot to read in this thread, and I'm really not sure what the current state of the orders are. Thanks- 3385 replies
