  1. This is the correct procedure for entering/editing waypoints. By “can’t edit” the points what do you mean? Does the computer not save your changes? Do GPS weapons not guide to the correct location? Our squadron typically shares grids, so there may be an issue with latlong that we haven’t tripped over. I never mess with elevation; maybe there is an problem here? F10 map target (#TPn) points have been working fine.
  2. Yes...enable "Options/Special/AV-8B NA/Export MPCDs on start." Very handy!
  3. If the tanker announces "return pre-contact" when I fall off the basket, I have to announce "ready pre-contact" via the radio menu to re-activate the hose. Otherwise it is futile trying to re-engage the drogue. Some of my best refueling approaches have failed when I flew the refueling arm straight through the basket. It's a good idea to drive in on the hose 10-20 feet after contact to give yourself some wiggle room. This also makes it obvious if the tanker doesn't think you are cleared for contact.
  4. This works for me. I also have 2 switches with AFC reset instead of off mapped. It’s quirky at first, but becomes muscle memory quickly.
  5. Helios is a great tool for managing per-aircraft exports and creating cockpit displays on external monitors. Highly recommended. Captain Zeen has a suite of pre-made Helios profiles for different airframes.
  6. Can’t fuze GBU-12s with the Armament Control Panel after today’s update. The ACP only displays dashes. Hitting the dobber up or down does nothing. The ODU fuzing options work, although the ACP does not display the setting. Haven’t tested with any other munitions. Thanks, Hitman
  7. Unique (i.e. not fly-by-wire) flight model. Much faster than A-10. Lots of air-to-ground CAS goodness. STOVL is awesome. Rearm and refuel at road-based FARPs. Cool weapons: APKWS laser-guided rockets, GPS an/or laser-guided GBU-54s, AGM-122 Sidearm anti-radar version of Sidewinder. Definitely try it out. It is challenging and rewarding to fly well.
  8. I never turn it off. I just let it “sleep” (i.e. red light comes on). Next time I start or wake computer it goes green and works without futzing with levels.
  9. The MFDs are great for any/all planes. They depend on the controller mapping. I have 4 MFDs that I mount with medical sticky material (Dycem) on an external 1080 monitor. I use Helios to export airframe displays under the MFDs. It is brilliant to see the game’s MFD content within the button frame and interact with it there. Harrier is my primary airframe, but have mapped multiple other planes. The indicator lights and brightness are configurable. I think they are in the Windows controller advanced settings.
  10. Our squadron encourages 14 seconds between carrier breaks for enough spacing. I haven’t seen numbers for groove time specifically. -Don
  11. 1. Set laser code you will search for. 2. Switch to TPOD HOTAS mode. 3. TDC Action to designate near expected lase area. Having a TPOD designation is required to start the search. This often catches me out when trying to re-start a search. 4. SSS Left Long Press to enter LSS. HTH, Don
  12. Try zooming with the MFD buttons. I mapped these on the HOTAS as I prefer the linear feel more than the zoom commands.
  13. You can use “modifiers” to assign multiple functions to buttons/switches. I have an extra button near my stick trigger that I use as a modifier. This makes it convenient to double up functions on throttle controls.
  14. Just picked up the campaign. Looking forward to running the missions. On Mission 1 I attempted to refuel with Arco, but the C-130 was flying quite slowly at about 220 knots. At times it flies around 170 knots as seen in F2. Can the airspeed be increased? Are tankers in other missions set to similar speeds as well? Thanks, Don
