  1. Ethereal, I'm not really sure you understood my remark. The guy is comparing carrots with cucumbers and saying he prefers carrots because they were grown in USA. Now if he compared carrots grown in Russia and carrots grown in USA, that comparison would be alright with me.
  2. Sounds like a good reason to prefer a fixed-wing sim over a rotor sim... /FACEPALM...
  3. Well I was flying on at least 2 servers that have a checklist and my installation passed.
  4. Death-17: 1.0.2 definitely is worth installing, especially if you want to fly online, you won't see many servers, if any, in 1.0.1. Also more and more missions are simply geared towards FC2 aircrafts. I personally disrespected the advice, took the risk and installed 1.0.2 over 1.0.1 and it works like a charm.
  5. That's why I said it's not a clean way. :-) But after your shortsighted paraplegic wingman bumps your tail off after an otherwise successful mission, it does help to save some nerve.
  6. To the guys who complain campaigns are difficult / AI sucks: Maybe someone already posted this, in which case I can only say the truth - haven't seen it, so I'm posting it. This is absolutely NOT a clean tactics, so you might want to reconsider, if you like stuff squeaky clean, but there is a workaround if your mission ends up sour and you DON'T WANT TO STEP BACK IN CAMPAIGN. 1, fire up TASK MANAGER 2, end the process called simulator.exe Mission will end with no results and your progress in campaign is preserved.
  7. Right, I've only encountered this twice, but nevertheless it's a bug and might be looked at. Basically AI helicopters after destruction sometimes, but rarely, seem to be stuck in mid air... And in this one my wingman ejected but his heli refuses to adhere to gravity :-) I haven't been through all of the bugs reported here, so someone might have reported this, but hey... :-)
  8. Yes and let's go completely mad and fold the rotor to the front and let it be a propeller like Osprey! Maaan! And maybe the side wings could extend and maybe even change geometry. And there could be extendable ailerons and man, what to add on top of that ? Sky's the limit when you're building a Transformer!
  9. You have answered your own question. How possibly could it be a sim if it's for 360 as well ? While they could in theory make a clickable 3D cockpit for 360, I wonder who in 360 community has the willpower to learn it ? And with the current trend of dumbing down all that still possibly can be dumbed down, I'm not holding my breath for this.
  10. For a teaser... it didn't tease much...
  11. The way I understand his solution: Before running any "important" mission, run ANY MISSION, just start and exit, to have AI properly set up. Maybe something gets mistakenly initialized in the debriefing scripts rather than briefing (pre-mission) scripts...
  12. It's not only the smoke itself rather the dry and dusty terrain and debris pulverized into smithereens by the pressure -> dust in the air. Wouldn't expect this amount of dust in snow-covered northern Europe with high humidity. And of course, I'd have this effect pretty much switched off, don't want my FPS to suffer for 30 mins before the dust settles. Especially if in multiplayer where everyone is blowing stuff up.
  13. Maybe you forgot to request NVG from the ground crew ?
