  1. Hi Panzertard, Thanks for taking the time to check it out for me, it seems i wasted your time though........just a few simple changes in the NVidia profile and now no problems at all. I changed a couple of things in the options.lua and graphics.cfg files as suggested by Frazer's guide, but whether or not those changes had any impact on the problem is something i cant say for sure. I'm pretty sure the changes Frazer has in his guide for the profile in the NVidia control panel are what fixed it. I tried to include what i thought was relevant :) It was a funny sort of crash........because even though it went to the end of mission menu, Black Shark continued to be usable but at that point i didnt want to push the envelope until i could work out what might have happened. Thanks again for checking it out and taking the time to reply, i appreciate your help  Now where's my Cougar i have some serious flying to do :)
  2. Well i have to say thankyou, because before you posted this i couldnt even fly for 10 minutes with the NVG's but i just managed a 47min flight with them...........i didnt have to change much but using some of your settings helped me
  3. Hi all, I hate to be posting just because i have a problem, but i need some help. I've only just recently had some time to get in to Black Shark, fantastic sim btw :) and i didnt have too many probs before but a week ago i had to replace my video card. The 9800GTX i had died on me, and since it wasnt in the budget for an upgrade i got a GTS250 because it is supposed to be the equivelant just with a new name. I had a crash the other day in Black Shark, i cant remember the circumstances on that one but i still have the crash file and ive had 3 others that were during night flying with NVG's. At first the screen locks up then goes black for a few seconds then the screen comes back over a few more seconds bits at a time...........the first time that happened i let it go and kept flying then the same thing happened again within minutes and probably about the 3rd time it crashed. I wasnt able to save a track file, because the LastMissionTrack.trk file was the previous mission without any crash.........but the last time it happened i exited and managed to save the track file but i dont know if anyone was to look at it if it would show what happened. I thought maybe something was wrong with the video card at first, or possibly heat related so i decided to try something that would give it a fair old slapping around and fired up Crysis but it ran without any probs. Dont get me wrong i'm not saying because Crysis ran ok that Black Shark should, i just wanted to try something else that was demanding on the system. I'm running NVidia 196.21 drivers............i've tried uninstalling them but i cant, they just keep reloading after a reboot, even in safe mode. OS is win 7 ultimate 32 bit build 7100 Antivirus is Bitdefender Internet Security 2010 and i run it game mode when gaming. PC specs are I7 920 Asus P6t Deluxe v2 - bios 0704 3 gig Corsair TR3X3G1600C8D Gigabyte GTS250 1GB 650 watt Thermaltake Toughpower Audigy 2ZS G15 Keyboard Nothing is overclocked. Well the video card is a factory overclocked version, i dont know if that counts as any overclocking. I cant think of any other info to include, so if i have left anything out please let me know. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards Pete Wingard EDIT : update is that after reading through Frazer's tweak guide, and making a few changes suggested in it i managed a 47 minute flight with NVG's............guide can be found here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=821932#post821932 so fingers are crossed the problem is fixed. crash files.rar error files.rar DxDiag.rar
  4. I bought Flaming Cliffs on disc and the Black Shark manual from here http://fighter-collection.com/pages/tfc/flight%20simulation/index.php and the package arrived in less than 2 working days and i'm in Australia. In perfect condition as well. Terrific service if you ask me.
  5. Hi all, I just thought i would share this small profile i made for the Microstick on the Cougar. I've only had the Cougar for a couple of weeks and i'm still learning how to program it properly, but so far i've made a full profile for Strike Fighters 2 Europe and this one. The reason i only programmed the microstick, is because i like the versatility of the options in Black Shark and i can pretty much have everything i need assigned without having to fully program the Cougar. Anyway i have the microstick programmed to slew the Shkval, and i think it works ok. All the buttons can still be assigned in Black Shark with this loaded. Please share any suggestions you might have. Hope you like it. BS_shkval.rar
  6. Thanks for the info JimMack, when i heard that Mindscape were going to sell it i looked on their website on Thursday and couldnt find any info on it. So i had a look at the TFC website, emailed a question on shipping for the manual and Flaming Cliffs, got an answer pretty much straight away. I ordered it at around 6pm (Australian time) on friday the 12th, got an email via paypal stating my order had been sent and i received the package at around 8:30am this morning in perfect condition  Thats great service imo, so please pass on my gratitude to Bev and all concerned.
  7. Griffin, i understand what you are trying to achieve, but you really do have a host of options. I dont know how many buttons your joystick has but if you use one of the modifiers that are already available, one of your buttons can achieve 7 functions. For example button 1 on its own when pressed can be used to fire a selected weapon, then used with left ctrl lock a target..........so you are still left with left alt, left shift, right ctrl, right alt and right shift available to program as you choose. Another option is to sacrifice a button as a modifier. So if you have six buttons that leaves you 5 buttons but gives you 10 functions you can program. Or sacrifice another button as a switch, which on a 6 button joystick would leave you 4 buttons but used with a modifier and switch would give you 12 functions. So if you dont mind reaching for the keys that are already programmed as modifiers your remaining 4 buttons coupled with a button as a modifier and a button as a switch gives you 36 functions you can program. The above calculations (which i might have got wrong because i'm half asleep atm lol) are based on 6 buttons. I'm not assuming you have 6 buttons but because you didnt say in your post the above is just an example. I hope i made sense.
  8. Well actually you can. I know because i use it as a modifier, and it works great. I have my joystick axis set up to slew the shkval while holding the pinkie switch, and when i'm not holding the pinkie the joystick axis is used for normal flight input. 1. Obviously select options 2. click on modifiers 3. Select "ADD" under the left hand box (it looks greyed out but it is selectable) 4. Select "Saitek X52pro.........." from the drop down menu. 5. Press the pinkie switch, and you should see JOY_BTN6, in the box named "Select Modifier Button" and "Modifier Button Name". 6. You should be all set to go now. I tried to an image of each step but it didnt work, so if you have any probs just ask and if i can help i will.
  9. Thats how i use it. I have the pinkie switch on my x52 pro set as a modifier. So to slew the Shkval, i hold the pinkie switch and move the joystick in the desired direction. If i'm in a hover i usually slave the Shkval to the helmet mounted sight and use the jostick to get the target box right where i need it. I just have to remember to release it when i need to change flight direction, but thats not a problem while hovering of course. I'm no expert (as a matter of fact i'm far from it LOL) but this is what works for me.
