  1. Are you sure the tank is empty? I've never seen a mission that starts with an empty fuel tank, and btw I have both campaigns, and I believe the tank is not empty... Do you do the startup procedure correctly? I think you might miss one of these steps: - turn the yellow fuel switch on the center console to on - turn the throttle to about half position
  2. The experience of VR (6dof, infinite screen, sense of distance) gives you so much extra you won't care about the loss of picture quality too much. Going back from VR to a monitor feels like going from a 3D game to a 2D game. VR is like standing on a mountain top and looking around while a monitor is like looking at a picture someone took on the same place. If you are thinking of trying VR, get a cheap, used Rift (that can be powered by an older PC too) and give it a try!
  3. I had a 1080, a 1080ti, and now I have a 2080ti. The best value for the price is the 1080ti. The difference between the 1080ti and the 2080ti in performance is not that significant but it is singnificant in price. You just have to pay too much for a minor fps boost. Don't forget that this generation of Nvidia cards is not about a huge performance upgrade, but about RTX technology (which is useless) If the performance of the 1080ti is not enough for your VR headset, just lower some settings. (i would try supersampling and visible range first)
  4. I always thought it's some kind of artificially generated headroom by DCS, so your GPU is not running at 100% performance, but has extra capacity to handle something like a bunch of explosions. The problem is that, this is just not enough for VR, where the GPU has to serve 2 displays. They optimized something about this recently, but high settings and 90fps are still not possible (for most situations). So the 2 options are: high fps at lower settings or higher settings with reprojection (or AWS). I just decided to go for higher settings and quickly got used to the 45 fps. Btw, I tried many settings and I don't think MSAA and shadows are the most demanding settings. I found high visible range to be much more problematic!
  5. Yeah, it would fit most criteria, but to be applicable to WW2, shouldn't we have a Zero module (at least in development)?
  6. Do we know if the new free map will be a modern map or a WW2 map? I would be happy to see a Cold War-era Cuba and South Florida map, that would be beautiful! My other bets are: Korea and the Bering Strait.
