  1. it can be removed for Maintenance, but it is an integral part of the targeting systems for the F-15E and would not be removed for a combat operation, even in Allied Force missions when they flew CAP they had CFTs, Targeting Pods, wing tanks, and 8 AAMs.
  2. In Chuck's F-14B Guide... Read the Note. AB is not allowed because of the higher thrust of the F110 motors causing controllability issues at low speed if an engine fails. None of that applies to the F-14A with its much less powerful TF30 motors.
  3. You're trying a non-AB take-off in a heavily loaded F-14A? I would expect a long take-off run then, yeah.

    F-15E vs. F-18C

And it will still be able to climb and fly over 250kts too.
  5. Perhaps adding an indicator to the throttle curve mapping as well. That way people can move a throttle to Mil and adjust the curve as needed to set the tripping point to AB. Just another option to think about.
  6. Those are some wicked shots
  7. A high altitude launch (36,000ft) might do 3+M for near 70nm.

    F-15E vs. F-18C

OUT-Tech? I would say no. The F/A-18C is nothing but Tech. Other than the FBW and JHMCS (I don't think that has been released to 3rd party yet) the F-15E might match the F/A-18C. They will both have multi mode radars, internal EW, and targeting pods. The Hornet will likely have a broader range of weapons available. The Strike Eagle will have more brute force, be it thrust, fuel, number of munitions, etc.
  9. The F-14 never got the AIM-120 because the funding set aside for AIM-120 integration was reallocated to LANTIRN integration after a successful test was demonstrated, allowing the F-14 to have precision strike capability before Hornets did.
  10. Does the profile include LANTIRN commands?
  11. are you in AR PT or MT mode on the pod? The farthest left OSB on the bottom of the display.
  12. more efficient loft profile. You can add a lot of range with better lofting logic.
  13. You can find array size and FoV, occasionally wavelength, but array sensitivity and signal processing not so much.
  14. I thought DCS only had the B and C-5 AMRAAM.
  15. Yeah, this. It has "easy mode AAR" built into the FBW
  16. I've never had it in any plane, so I can't miss it.
  17. from what parameters? I had a CMk60 get to 94,000ft launching from 46,600ft @ 1.58M in the F-14A on a target 93nm away flying towards me at 40,000ft @ 1.85M (Tu-22) TWS-A Jester RIO
  18. I swear I'm the only one who doesn't like 1st person bodies. Are they great for immersion? yes. They also block the view of switches I'm trying to hit.
  19. Well that's a new one. Can you repeat it or was this a one-off?
  20. Yet I have had SP Harrier only missions where the track goes haywire in under 5 minutes. Multicrew may guarantee a track split, but it is not the only cause.
  21. Useless until the nature of EW is revamped.
  22. One more thing is to be trimmed, not holding level with stick force, because IRC the AP system only manipulated trim and can only do so at a limited speed.
  23. Tomcat is 100% Cold Steel and Sex Appeal This Mod was always going to be a no brainer for me. My Pre-School in the early eighties was in sight of the traffic pattern for Miramar, the Big Fighter was a part of my recess. Then my mom had to go and buy a VHS player and Top Gun (back when that stuff was pricey).
  24. I've gotten that payload to nearly 1.6M over 40,000ft from a deck launch
