    Thank you

Just wanted to say thanks to team ED for delivering one of the best updates of the year with the introduction of DLAA/DLSS etc. I flew in VR online last night, something I rarely do in multiplayer due to the frame rate issues, and when i do i normally downtune the graphics and everything else to make it playable without stutters and freezes. Last night I forgot to do this adjustment, and it didnt care. The DLAA settings allowed smooth gameplay whilst maintaining visual fidelity, something I had to chose between before. Now it appears I don't! The new shadows are just superb, give a real depth to the environment which wasn't there before, and at times it was that good I could have said it was real. Some croppped VR screenshots. By far not the best visual quality you'll see, but for my 2080S to cope with a G2 at this grx setttings I am happy. Still going to get a 4080Ti though
  2. Someone asked for Lynx FRCs, this is the response that they got... https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/585514/response/1422291/attach/4/LYNX AH MK 9A Doc 2.pdf?cookie_passthrough=1 so yeah even if they did have the time, it would have probably looked like that. I would just like the additional SW rails from the outriggers to make it at least look more GR7.9 externally for screenshots. I couldn't care about the system differences, it does everything I need it to.
  3. When I'm in 2D it states GPU bound, so it does have some purpose. I know I'm only on a 2080S 8GB card, but I would have expected at a tiny improvement from my previous CPU, considering I've also bumped up from some medicore 32GB DD4-3600, to 64GBs of DDR5-6000
  4. I'm still having issues trying to get any increase in VR performance compared to my 6700k with my new 7800X3D, both are achieving only 21FPS with the G2 headset. In 2D the difference is chalk and cheese, from 40-45fps to 80-90fps, I've tried both OpenXR which I was on before as well as going back to SteamVR. Both are showing CPU rendering thread limits using the DCS FPS counter.
  5. I went from an unstable 45fps to relatively steady 80fps in 2D, but I was getting 20fps before and after the upgrade in VR. I'm on a MSI 2080S 6GB card, so if anything I'm GPU limited, but the DCS FPS counter is showing CPU bound (Render Process). I'm using OpenXR with my HP Reverb G2 (V1 cable) no issues with power supply or anything. And in Xplane12 (poor VR track record) I went from 8fps with my old setup with bare minimum graphics settings, to 45fps last night with half-decent settings, so I know it's not my headset/PC conflicting. Terrain textures low, shadows off, MSAA, SSAA, AO etc all down to the lowest/off settings - the stuff I know chews up VR headsets for breakfast and it's still not any better.
  6. I just built my 7800X3D on a X670E with 2x32GB-6000 CL30 yesterday. Upgrading from a 8year old 6700k with 32GB RAM, it's night and day flying in 2D. In VR, however, its a different story. 20FPS and it's showing CPU bound the entire time in the MT instance. I hope this is resolved soon.
  7. Hi, also noticed this on the British AAC 663Sqn default livery from ED. Hope this is fixed, or at least someone can provide guidance on how to resolve.
  8. you must've tagged me by accident in the OP - I got a notification and was like 'eh?!' I don't have the Tomcat, wish I did, but I don't have the time to learn it
  9. Yet we get a non-existent trim reset? Surely it just takes a quick remodel of the existing 230gal tank and edit the parameters to only accept 120gal and add it to the loadout options.
  10. https://robertsonfuelsystems.com/defense/reduced-size-crashworthy-external-fuel-system-rcefs/?fbclid=IwAR3mEcoESTbC_Vt1zSET1yHZPsIcR9SOr5GD5sfxBBkrBCIW5uhYt8ReA0w It would be really great that once the internal Robbie tank is able to be replaced by (up to) 1200x30mm rounds, that we get the option of adding the 122gal RCEFS tanks to sit on outside, a perfect replacement for the internal tank. The current "torpedo" tanks are huge and unwieldy, and the 230gal capacity is a little too much for knife fighting in in most of the DCS user-base situations (one would hazard a guess at). Plus the look a bit better than having a canoe strapped to the outside.
  11. Looks epic, looking forward to it
  12. Any changes to the above with the new 5.2 driver? Has it made any difference to the performance/accuracy of the virtual hands? I go the LEAP controller for Christmas but haven't had a chance yet to test it out yet, (Family staying with me at the moment) but keen to try it out.
  13. one is wire-guided missiles only with IR, one is fixed forward firing cannon/rockets no-IR, one is A2A missiles no-IR, one has a 3rd seat for a minigunner out the side with no camera at all. All have the same kit just moved about the place with difference capabilities/weights
  14. I'm not at home to try at the moment, but just thinking that I can't even see the aircraft model that sits in the hangar (SU-27) or the menu screen when looking around. It's completely empty! Will report back when I get home again.
  15. Is that a DCS or WMR/SVR binding?
  16. Hi, just got my G2 yesterday and it worked to start with, then I performed the update and now I have no main menu or aircraft model in the hangar. Whilst DCS was updating I was following through the Thud DCS VR guide and watched a video on optimizing Windows 10 - which included disabling some background processes and turning off location/file access for apss etc - I'm wondering if that did it. Has anyone seen this before? Ignore that the WMR view is focused, I just brought it to the front to show all of what I was seeing at the time. https://i.imgur.com/czcYegb.png
  17. Ok this topic can be closed. Cause was the duplication of the textures and description.lua in the Saved Games/Liveries directory Solution (for me) was to delete all C101 folders within the Saved Games/Liveries directory and the textures returned to normal. For me to still have any scheme available regardless of the nationality of the aircraft was to edit the description.lua in the Eagle Dynamics/DCS open beta/CoreMods/C101/Liveries folder. I'm not 100% sure if this will break integrity check but the MP servers I fly on primarily don't require it so not an issue for me. Thanks to Rudel_chw and kontiuka for their assistance on this issue. Can finally see all schemes in full glory - and she looks great
  18. thanks for your help I know know what the cause if the issue is at least - now to find a way where I get the best of both worlds...
  19. ok well that got rid of the partial issue of the "MISSING TEXTURE" and blocky effect on the USAF skin... but along with the Aviodev skin the rest have disappeared Wait a second. I have the "make all liveries in multiplayer for every nation" mod - that could be why all this was happening and the textures were getting muddled up....
  20. Will let you know how I get on - again back in the office but it sounds like we are getting somewhere
  21. it's only the "description.lua" files within them however
  22. I'll report back in approx 18hours once I finish my nightshift and get some sleep. thanks - this is new info to work on - hopefully the key! I've ran the repair in the past but still no joy - so will get back with the Saved Game files
  23. Nope still have the same issues - I tried the backup folder technique and they all went the crazy green square camo as the files were completely missing - then I "deleted" the module using the manager and reinstalled - still the crazy camo - then took the textures out of the backup folder and I still have the same situation as in post#1 where some are ok, some have the "MISSING TEXTURE" underlayer - and a select few are completely missing. Is it possible that someone is able to upload all the original textures and share them with me to overwrite what I have here or is that against EUA?
