With all due respect, I have to say that that is not the best choice of words on part of the developer, both in russian and english version. Thank you all for your help. It is working now the way I wanted it to work, although I'm contemplating a few minor tweaks regarding the mission success criteria and event timing...

It's like this (I have russian version of LO FC, so I'll write russian terms also)... In the Failures/Отказы tab there are two columns, first is "Failure ocurring after (hh:mm)/После (чч:мм)", and second is "Duration (hh:mm)/В течение (чч:мм)". I want failures of SAU (don't know the english term for this since I have russian version, but I guess it's the autopilot - second button from the top)/САУ, HUD/ИЛС and MFD/МФД. I have set the times as follows: SAU/САУ 00:15/02:00, HUD/ИЛС 00:17/02:59 and MFD/МФД 00:16/02:59 respectively, with the Probability/Вероятность slider set to 100%. When the time comes (15, 16 and 17 minutes into the mission), nothing happens. Any and all suggestions are welcome...

I'm a bit out of the loop, so if this has been asked and answered before, drop me a link by PM and delete this post, no prob about that... OTOH, I did use the Search function (searched only Titles) and didn't come up with any useful answer regarding my question, so here it goes... Are the failures working, or not (bugged?)? I'm setting up a training mission for a single Su-27, and I need the systems to fail (HUD, CRT and autopilot) in order to force the pilot to use the ADI and HSI to land in bad weather (I set the cloud ceiling to 350 m AGL, which should be at least close to realistic). I've set the failures to ocurr a minute apart from each other and to last for two hours with 100% probability, but when the time comes, nothing happens... Does somebody have an advice..?

Интересует меня и матчасть тоже... Жалко, на пример, что у АСП-17(буквы не вспомню сейчас - замечание, наверняка, получу за это ;-)) толко одно положение колиматора, а там должно их быть несколько, в зависимости от боеприпаса... И радар на истребителях и РЭБ было бы неплохо разработать ещë более подробно - хватит, не буду начинать эту песню снова.

Примерно так и хочется учиться, в смысле кидать тонны бомб и пускать десятки ракет только так, без какого-нибудь отношения к реальности, нет желания...

А может быть, мне лучше в танк пересесть..? Действительно, критерии ооочень жëсткие, будет над чем работать долгое время. А перед лëтчиками (как настоящими, так и вирпилами), выполняющими эти критерии, преклоняю колено... А как про элементы/упражнения Курса Боевой Подготовки..? В смысле, поразить такую-то цель из таково-то вида манëвра с первого захода таким-то оружием...

А ссылку на эти мисии кто-нибудь подскажет, пожалуйста? Если они и не близко к реальности, все-таки будет от чего-то оттолкнуться...

Про это знаю, но хотел бы узнать про все четыре классности по отдельным типам самолетов... Мне интересно, какие задания/типы полëтов были должны выполнить, что бы получить определëнный класс..? Типа, на Су-25 в таких-то условиях, применяя такое-то оружие, уничтожить такую-то цель в таких-то метеорологических условиях и вернуться домой; на МиГ-29/Су-27 сбить такую-то цель, применяя таку-то ракету, при таких-то условиях и вернуться домой..?

Уважаемые господа, Прочитал, что есть категории классности пилотов в ВВС СССР/России, именно 3-тий, 2-ой, 1-ый и летчик-снайпер. Какие качественные и количественные критерии должны пилоты выполнить, что-бы получить определенный класс на самолетах Су-25, МиГ-29 и Су-27? Хочу потренироваться по требованиям, чем более близким к реалным, и создать соответствующие миссии.

From what I gathered, the situation is something like this: I come to a restaurant... The service is somewhat not what I was hoping for and the quality of the food is excuisite as such, but not what I would actually like to eat. The choice is simple: leave without comotion but be hungry, or stay and eat magnificent trouts, although you would really enjoy magnificent salmon, hoping the waiter might put a smile on his face more often. I choose to stay. For me, this is the only restaurant in town.

I'm a bit of an old school type of guy and all these MFD-equipped aircraft do not make me particulary interested... My wishes would be MiG-23MLD, MiG-27K/M, Su-24M/MR/MP, MiG-25PD and leter model Rs, Su-17M4 and Mi-24V (or VP ;-))...

As I have a fetish for soviet/russian jets (seventies and eighties particulary), I have an irresistible urge to say that the plane on the left picture is a MiG-27M (or D, they are hard do differentiate; with Klen-PM laser target designator in the nose, IIRC), and the plane on the right is a MiG-27K (with Kaira laser/TV target designator)... I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone... It's just important for me... Yeah, I know I should get councelling.

Since this is my first message on the DCS forum, hellos to everybody... Given the choices of the poll, I voted for the MiG-27 (hopefully a K, but an M would be good too)... Other than that, I wouldn't mind flying an Su-17M4, Su-24M and/or Su-24MR, MiG-23BN, MiG-23MLD, MiG-25PD... I'm sorry if this is a wrong thread, but I just had to get it off my chest.

I fly only Russian planes and, considering the flyables available, I was going to make two profiles: one for the Su-25/Su-25T, and the other for MiG-29/Su-27/Su-33... I got the first one 99% finished (some renaming left to be done, but it works as intended without it): I can upload it here if someone is interested. The main thing is that I do not use Saitek's driver, but Dhauzimmer's... Not easy to configure, but definitely worth the time and effort - Saitek's driver is incredibly... well... bad (last time I checked, that is), IMHO. As to the second profile, I got so hooked to the AFM, that I haven't flown any fighter recently.

Yeah, that's me... I have a thing for french jets, and that site was kinda a revelation for me (although, many links are still broken, some galleries are under construction etc.)... Thank you for your insight... I was not certain about that Super 530D, but now it's clear. Good thing that you posted it over on their forum, it would be nice if more english-speaking people posted there. From what I gathered, the French crowd posts mostly in the french-speaking part...

The hinges on the fins got me puzzled, and as far as the cover goes, I though I gets blown away when the motor ignites... There's also the fuze window missing, but I thought it might be a sub-version/model of the D with different fuse, or something along those lines... Anyway, thank for clarifying the issue... And, if somebody stumbles on a live Super 530D walkaround, please, let me know...
