Okay, after much wreckage and very scraped up wing tips the takeoff challenge is being mastered. Now those landings...

The Spit's devilish handling on 0% assistance reminds me of the early release Bf109K4. That was an experience to be endured and not really enjoyed. As the developers refined the handling model over time the Bf became that high horsepower taildragger challenge to be enjoyed as it is for me now. Maybe it's just me and I need more time with the Spit but from what I've read I haven't known this plane to be so fiendish on the takeoff run.

Takeoffs with 100% assistance isn't that difficult for me but turn off (set to 0%) takeoff assistance and immediately I'm veering off course and scraping wing tips. I can't get any kind of nice forward momentum and it doesn't matter how much I adjust rudder trim and boost settings. One difficult bird to get moving down the runway respectably without assistance! :pilotfly:

I recently reinstalled my USA/English version of DCS Black Shark and applied the 1.01a patch. Before I start tinkering with the Russian voice files that were made available for the English 1.00 version I was wondering if anyone knew if those files would still be compatible with the latest and greatest version. My original installation was DCS Black Shark 1.00, the addition of the Russian voice soundpack, and then upgraded to 1.01 and then the 1.01a hotfix. This combination resulted in a game crash. So, I uninstalled the game completely and reinstalled with a fresh 1.01a complete patch. I'm just a bit wary of applying the Russian voice soundpack over the new version... :cry: Thanks!

I found that having multiple Track IR windows (moving heads) and other sub windows open when loading a DCS BS mission resulted in BS not seeing the Track IR. Running with just the main Track IR window open or minimized allowed Track IR to run properly both in Aero and not under Vista 64.
