  1. DCS can´t do either. It is only possible with a 3rd party script. It´s like saying RDR2 is a VR game just because there is a VR mod available for it. A "little bit" imagination would be enough for the disembarking animations in ARMA3 and even these are more than servicable. For this case in DCS, you´ll need more like LSD based hallucinations...
  2. You call these stuttering enteties moving as smooth as a jammed robot "troops"? realy? And you cannot land "troops" on a rooftop in DCS. What you can do is land on a rooftop and let some troops spawn there from a imaginary inventory created by a script. I have never seen troops in DCS disembarking from a helicopter (means realy sitting inside, open the side door, jump out animated and do a 360), all i have seen is troops spawning out of nowhere.
  4. Hi, thanks for the answer, but i think my description was a bit inaccurate. The axis´ of the throttle base are perfectly fine. It´s the axis on the left handle (that large grey axis wheel - see pic) wich is not working. Neither in DCS, nor in SAP test panel or windows device manager. It´s highlighted in the SAP test panel, but does not registrate any input. According to the WW homepage, it should work on the ST throttle. Sorry for beeing unclear, my fault.
  5. Hi all, i´m running the F-15EX throttle grips on the old Super Taurus throttle. After flying the Hornet and the Mudhen, i wanted to map my controls for the F-16 now and saw that the axis on the left grip handle doesen´t work. According to the WinWing homepage, it should very much on the ST throttle. So went back into the SAP test panel and saw the buttons wich are said to not work on the ST are greyed out (as it should be), but the axis on the left throttle grip is highlighted. Still no joy here as well. Is this a limitation of the ST throttle wich isn´t listed on the WW homepage (wich would be unfortunate, as this axis was one of the reasons to get the grips)? Or do i have a faulty unit? Firmware is up to date on all three devices (Throttle base, start-up panel, throttle grips). Cheers
  6. This. I hope a lot of devs take advantage of HBs offer, as this would highly improve the multicrew modules we have right now. Same goes for Razbams IFF logic, wich they said will be available for other devs as well, for free IIRC.
  7. I can confirm this. Hope this gets fixed soon.
  8. The NWS button is a 5 way (like all buttons on the F-18 CGRH grip) switch. I just use one of it´s position for the paddle switch.
  9. Welcome to the Forum. Not sure if i can help as i have no Meta HMD. Are you running the multithreading DCS.exe? If not, i would highly recommend to use it instead of the standard DCS.exe. You can find it in the mt-bin folder of your DCS install and you can identify if your on multithreading version when it says "MT preview 2.9XXXXX" at the lower right of the DCS main menu. By that you mean, setting pixel density in DCS to 1.5? Not sure about the Quest 2 and the Oculus software, but i guess it´s the same with every VR headset. I´d recommend to leave pixel density at 1.0 and rather play around with whatever the Oculus software comes around. OpenXR is still recommended, i came from SteamVR and it gave me a massive performance boost. Although you made some negative experience with it, i´d recommend to try it again. Maybe leave Turbo mode to off to begin with. Setting up OpenXR was a bit tricky, but once i got behind it, it was pretty easy. There is a very good tutorial somewhere here on the forum, wich helped me a lot. Besides that, with that i5 and the 3070 you will likely need to sacrifice some eye candy for performance. But DCS should be quite playable with that hardware in VR...
  10. I´m running a Realsimulator F-18 CGRH grip on a Virpil T50CM2 base. They are technically compatible to each other (means, the base recognises the grip), but the Virpil base does not recognise all of the numerous buttons of the Realsimulator grip due to firmware limitations of the Virpil base. And the buttons beeing recognised, are all over the place. Same for the TM base, wich does even recognise way less (23 in total) buttons than the Virpil bases (AFAIK something between 30 and 40). If you want to run a Realsimulator grip on a TM / Virpil base and have access to all the buttons, you need to get one with a installed BT module and use the base only for axis control and power supply for the grip, but use a bluetooth connection to operate the buttons. Sounds like a PITA, but works actually surprisingly good and i never had a single disconnect. Just make sure you pick a quality BT dongle as not all of them are capable of providing a stable connection. I use the ASUS BT400 dongle wich works perfectly with the grip, but there is a list of reliable BT dongles for the RS grips somewhere on the Realsimulator Forum. Just keep in mind, that all of the F-18 grips but only the more expensive versions of the F-16 grips have a BT module installed. The standard F-16 grip does not have one.

    F-18 boring?

The Hornet has nose / alpha authority wich is crucial in ACM, especially with fox 2s. Also the Hornet can bleed speed much better, wich is crucial in defensive ACM. Speed isn´t everything, ACM and BVR is much more. And for BVR... The most F-16s i face have to retreat from BVR after i dodged all of their Amraams while i have still 3-4 Amraams left. That is for fox 3s. On servers with fox 3s beeing banned, the F-16 isn´t even BVR capable at all. edit: The Hornets radar in DCS suffering from a few bugs is completely unimportant. The Hornet has the better radar. Otherwise we could say, the F-16 does not have Datalink as the F-16s D/L is bugged (or using your words, it is trash). This is not a proper argument. Doesn´t make the slightest difference. Important is what kind of targets you can attack and how close you need to get to do it. The CBU-97 and 105 are good against armored targets. The Hornet can attack armored target as well. On the other hand, the F-16 cannot attack proper warships and has no standoff capabilites. The Hornet is the overall more capable A/G platform. SEAD? Maybe, but the HTS is not much of an advantage. For DEAD you rarely use HARMS, as they can easily be intercepted or defeated by just turning off radar. GBUs are the weapon of choice here and this is what the Hornet can do just as fine as the F-16. And coming back to the thread title, i don´t think that any DCS module is "boring". They all have a lot of fun to offer.

    F-18 boring?

Definately not. The Hornets Radar in DCS does suffer from a few bugs and issues, but that does in no way reflect the real aircraft. Only as long as you don´t carry any A/G ordonance. No. The F-16 can fly higher and faster, but that´s all. Flying the Hornet at the limit, will give you an outstanding ACM platform The F-16 has proper stand-off capability like the Hornet has with the SLAM-ER? Please explain. Yes, you can do anti-ship with Mavericks. Against speed boats and little patrol vessels. Going against anything larger than a coastal patrol boat (i.e. a frigate or a destroyer) is not realy recommended with the F-16. Unless you have a death wish. Overall, the Hornet is the way better A/G platform. Maybe except for SEAD/DEAD. Maybe in 2D, i don´t know. In VR, the Hornets displays are better to read as they have significant larger screens. Also the Hornet provides much more information on the MFDs. Good example is the tiny small RWR scope of the Falcon vs. the EW page of the Hornet (wich can also be displayed on the HUD if there is no HMD available). The Hornet also has a much better HMD, providing superior SA compared to the F-16. I´m doing a lot of PvP and with the Hornet, i´m always confident in beeing informed as best as possible about whats happening around me, while with the F-16 i´m always feeling half-blind. Besides that, the Hornet provides a way superior A/P and way better navigation, as well as better radios. The F-16 is a great jet wich i love to fly (not as much as the Hornet, but i do realy enjoy the 16), but in summary the Hornet is definately the more capable platform in almost every aspect.
  13. Sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldn´t find anything via search function. Short question. Does the condition "Units fuel state higher / lower than" refer to internal fuel, or overall capazity with attached bags? cheers
  14. Literally there are 2 different types of industrial aluminium profiles. One is Bosch-Type with various notch sizes (6, 8 and 10mm) and the other one is Item-Type, also with 6, 8 and 10mm notch. Depending on what type you want to use, you´ll need different connectors and different sliding blocks, as the shape of the notch is different with both types. Monstertech uses Item-Type profiles with 8mm notch, wich are also the ones i would recommend, as they have a plain surface and look much better that the Bosch-type profiles with it´s structured surface. Your rig looks like as if it also uses Item-type profiles. If you want to be sure, just purchase a single notch slide block and check if it is fitting the notch. A notch 8 slide block with a M8 thread costs like 1,50 €, so you´re not throwing away too much money if it doesen´t fit. Hope this helps, cheers
