  1. Is it normal behavior for the DCS-Updater to perform an update check, then auto switch to the Repair function (say, if the updater noticed something off)? I typically use the your (Skatezilla) Launcher (2.0.0.37, Bld 10.20.2023) which is incredibly awesome. Today I used it to do an update check... and the above happened. Repair is happening now (not a bad thing) but I don't remember ever having the Repair function start without telling it to do so, whether using your Launcher or the DCS-Updater. Not sure if it's the Updater, Launcher, or has something to do with the disk location move. Friday, due to the update size, I had to move DCS to another drive. Started the game numerous times over the weekend but not sure if I checked for an update since then. So maybe that's something to do with it. I did change the target locations in the Launcher. Just trying to find if this is normal.
  2. I dunno... all things considered DCS seems pretty stable. And I don't even have a hotrod of a system really. Maybe it's just me.

    Corsair update

Now look. You can dispense with that kind of hopium any time. I'm getting way too old for that. So... you're an old fart too? Or is there some kind of new(er) Air Warrior(s)?
  4. At the end of the day, it's a GPS guided Area Weapon with a supposed CEP of 10ft. Really shouldn't have to counter wind regarding the weapon much as it flies to a GPS coordinate. Even then, it wouldn't take a lot of experimenting to figure out how to compensate for wind regarding the munitions with your aimpoint, and sending them to target on a corresponding azimuth and separation (for dualies) that, you'd have to do with the Aircraft as opposed to weapons settings....currently. I haven't experimented at all.... but even without wind I'm getting extremely poor weapon on target average. Always real close, almost never a good solid hit... like it's either designed that way, or mission creators make it so (I haven't a clue if they can do that or not). Now, this is Viper stuff. It's been quite a while since I played with JSOWs with the Hornet. But, a year or so ago I was blasting the pants off everything with them... from a Hornet. ?? The J(anky)SOW is a lot of fun but... ya, don't count on it.
  5. I've decided to refer to this soon-to-be Hanger Queen as "Fighting Falcon" until it's RWS becomes something remotely useful.
  6. Nope. I'm just gonna put $0.50 a month aside. Won't miss it and I ought to have enough to cover the full price..... and 3 more.
  7. You guys have never heard of Massively Multiplayer Online? Ok, maybe I should have left an M out (MOL)... but it's a catch-all, regardless.
  8. Brother, as long as online SIMULATIONS are MMOL... the "Gamer" being the vast majority will do whatever it takes to dumb it down to a quick pew-pew-kabang-die-rinse-repeat, every single time. It just is. Remember when Quake Arena reared its ugly head and completely ruined a completely awesome story-line based video game? I do. They hit on the instant gratification of "easy & fast mode" and it's been a downhill battle ever since. That being said... ED has to think about the future. And finally, when you step back and look, Enigma's pretty fair in his assessment & possible conclusions. However, I believe it would be nigh on impossible for ED's "suits" to maintain focus over the long term should they take on a IL-2 type approach.
  9. This is really getting old
  10. Based on my sketchy math and experience... I'm hoping as early as 2026
  11. When I turn on labels, game freezes (not to return) & generates Crash Report Been an issue for a long time, however I very seldom turn labels on so just now getting around to report it Any ideas to fix this will be appreciated
  12. It's all been MP (Enigma's Cold War & Hoggit Training) Did another full DCS Repair and then doing a "Request Repair" every spawn seems to work... so far
  13. I was going to share a track... but "Request Repair" appeared to have worked. That was a few days ago Today the no-brakes issue has reemered regardless of "Request Repair".... once, I didn't have Rudders either
  14. Ok. Both HYD guages (Norm/Emer) showing green post start to takeoff. Everything appears to be working as it should with the exception of the brakes. I even turned NWS off prior to takeoff and promptly started to swerve off the runway. Brake pedals still move when I press them looking like they're working, they just don't.
  15. The NWS issue isn't really a problem (until I need it after landing). I figured something along the lines of what you said. The problem so far has been not having regular toe-brakes, at all. I'll check the Hydraulic system in a few minutes (currently doing another repair for other issues). However, seems odd to me I would have Hydraulics issues every flight, every time I log on.
  16. No Brakes Well... the Parking Brake works But no normal brakes. They're mapped correctly (I even tried inverting them just in case). The pedals move when I press the brake(s), but no brakes ~at all~. The only way to stop is to hit the parking brake. "W" doesn't work either. They were working the other day... but as of today I have no brakes. FWIW, I did a DCS "repair" between now and the last time they worked (trying to fix the "no text comms menu" bug that I still haven't figured out. Also: When rolling on takeoff, eventually the "STEER" indicator goes off (which I think is normal operation), however, the plane then wants to veer to the right (usually right). When the brakes were working, I could compensate by using them... because there's no rudder authority at all. So I would think if the Nosewheel Steering is set to turn off at a certain speed, then that speed ought be pretty close to that which allows the rudder to work. It's bad.
  17. Yep... this is about a 1 in 4 flights kinda thing
  18. Ok Fixing the VIACOM issue fixed my Radio Comms (Text) in all the other aircraft.... but not in the 339. Still no radio comms menu
  19. OK, FWIW... I can't get the Comms Menu (Text) to work at all, in any module. This started after I installed the 339 (just today tried to fly something else for the first time.) Did a Repair, nothing changed
  20. There's an actual keyboard command for "Arming Menu". It works. Well... it's loaded with VA but I turn VA off right away, usually. Will check.
  21. Thanks. That will make it much easier to take-off
