  1. Unluckely so far there are no official releases but only development kits...
  2. Hi, my first prototype of DIY rift is ready and I'd like to use it with DCS-FC3. I saw a "Auto detect Oculus Rift" check box in the config pannel, but checking it has no effect as (I suppose) the software doesn't detect any Oculus Rift connected. Is there a way to make it work even without Oculus Rift? To Developers: many of us have build up their own OculusRift-like VR headset: what about to unlock this feature? Thanks in advance Black Sheep
  3. I found this: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3678463/Lock_On_Flaming_Cliffs_3_1_2_2.html Actually it seems to be a protection issue. OK... let's pick up the wallet... Anyway one of those guys (Biggles07) says he had problem even after activation... Mmmmmm....
  4. Hi girls, before buying FC3 I'd like to test it on my system. So I downloaded and installed the lates DCS WORLD and Flaming Cliffs 3, hoping there was a "trial" mode. When I choose "instant action" the app asks me for activation. I close the activation dialog and go on: is this a "trial" mode? Anyway, simulation starts but... no cockpits at all! External views are fine, but when I get into the cockpit I can see just few pieces of it. My cockpit seems to be transparent and I can see the interiors of my plane: landing gear, bombs and so on. The only aircraft with a solid cockpit is the Su-25T, the "free" aircraft in bundle with DCS WORLD. I tried messing up with graphic options (anti-alias and so on)... nothing to do. I told to catalyst "let the application decide everything"... no joy. Is this a protection system? will I face the same problem if I buy FC3 and activate it? I'm not going to buy anything untill I see it working. Please help me! My system: i5 3750K RAM 8Gb RADEON HD 6950 2 Gb (latest Catalyst) Windows 7 64 Ultimate (my original "LOCK ON" CD was inserted when I made the test) Thanks in advance Black Sheep
  5. Hi, I'm still flying with the old F16-FLCS + TQS + RCS, connected by a gameport-to-USB adapter and I'm thinking about going for a Cougar USB stick. Do I need to change the TQS and RCS too? or can I connect them to the Cougar without problems? Thanks in advance. Black Sheep
  6. Thanks for help: a lot of things to know, to set and to test. I didn't know that setting up a multi-monitor system was so complicated. Anyway I'm quite sure that a 1" difference will be not so noticeable: probably the key will be "let's stop thinking about it".
  7. Hi ladies, at this moment, I fly sims using a 23" lcd. I have also a 22" lcd connected to a second computer. I was thinking about getting another 22" lcd and use all three (22"-23"-22") for flying FC2 (I'd get a card supporting eyefinity). All three monitors are 1920*1080. Are there particular issues related to different dimensions (1") of the 3 monitors? do you think the difference will be so noticeable while playing? keep in mind I use TrackIR (4). Thanks in advance Black Sheep
  8. For me D3D Overrider did the job (Ati tray tools didn't), but I had to struggle to get it vsync & triple buffering working PROPERLY. My suggestions: - reboot after any change (I know it's hard): in my opinion many graphic settings cannot be changed "on the fly"; testing without rebooting first may lead to wrong conclusions. - keep an eye on FPS (use fraps if you want to leave ATT out).
  9. I worked it out... but don't know how! Thanks guys. after some installation troubles, I got D3DOR installed and running. Vsync worked but... FPS didn't go higher than 30! It was like FPS was halfed, like triple buffering didn't work. I started uninstalling, reinstalling, ATT, D3DOR, CCC and whatelse... restarting the system many times and getting any sort of results... a complete nightmare! Finally - don't know how - I got FC2 runnig with vsync, nailed to 60 fps, no tearing; running only D3DOR. I'll give also a try to Kuky suggestion. Anyway, reading around, it seems that not every method is good for every system: in some situations OS, HW, drivers, apps work together in a fragile balance.
  10. Hallo girls, as trackir user in FC2, I ALWAYS used vsync ON to avoid tearing, in winXP, ATI RADEON. Now, in WIN 7/64, there is no way to get it working: even ati tray tools doesn't do the job. In Wings of Prey vsync works, I think because it's forced by application setting. I read that for someone ati tray tools worked, other use 3DOverrider. Any solution? Thanks in advance
  11. Thanks for help Mustang, I had already found the way. Anyway, now everything works fine: all hotas axis and buttons work fine (tested with FC2) keyboard works Just one note: when I start the PC I must remember to switch the FLCS in "download" mode. If I don't, keyboard doesn't work. Once the OS is up I can switch to "run" mode and everything works. My adapter is a Rockfire "usb nest". Thanks to it, I don't have to go for a new usb hotas. Hope this helps someone: clean the dust from your old gameport hotas and get one of those adapters!
  12. Hi ladies, yesterday I installed Win7/64 Pro (see my previous post) and connected my old TM hotas using a gameport->usb adapter I bought on ebay for few euro (rockfire UBS nest, if I don't go wrong). Well, win7 immediately recognized my joystick as 4 axis-4 buttons. My keyboard seems to work properly and - that's the magic - sytem recognizes the keystrokes sent by hotas (in a previous attempt months ago with win7/32 it dodn't) I installed LOMAC 1 and went to its control configuration. I key see the joystick, the thrust but can't see the rudder but I remember there something to do to see it: not a real problem. The real strange fact is that my joystick seems to be completely out of calibration. I went to win control pannel, opened my game controller properties but I couldn't find any calibration or test button. I did these tests in a hurry early this morning then I had to give up to go to work, so may be I missed something. How can I calibrate and test my joystick in win7/64? Thanks in advance. Black Sheep
  13. So I go for Win7/64. This means that I have to say goodbay to my glorious hotas and get a new one supporting USB. I tried everything to keep it alive with win7 (32): using a USB-gameport adapter I got it working only for axis; keyboard and programmable buttons stopped working...
  14. Hi girls, I'm thinking about changing OS on my PC and I was wondering which is the best in terms of performances and stability for FC2 and for playing in general (with modern games): XP/32, XP/64, WIN7/32, WIN7/64 (I'm quite sure you'll say WIN7, not sure about 32/64) My sys: XP32, AMD 965 (3.4X4), 4Gb DDR2 800, Sapphire 6950 2Gb, complete TM hotas (using gameport; I'm looking for 2nd hand USB Cougar 'cause win7 doesn't support gameport anymore). Thank you in advance. Black Sheep
