Just discovered an interesting thing, I was playing around with capping FPS and thought of trying locking my 60hz screen to 58hz with GSYNC and found that not only does the FPS feel no different but it has pretty much removed any traces of blurring/smearing with DLSS.

I get a crash upon launching DCS World when using the above DLSSTweaks that slughead linked, if I remove the dxgi.dll from folder DCS launches fine.

I've read in various other forums that presets G and J are the same.

New DLL and preset from first impression is exceptional in terms of image quality and motion, I use preset G and all DLSSQualityLevels set to 1.0 with DLSS Tweaks.

Even with my current workload being full on I will ALWAYS make time for DCS if I am able to, especially on my days off - sometimes I feel like I'm married to this sim lol

There is an existing driver profile 'Digital Combat Simulator : Black Shark' but it's heavily outdated as that was a DX9.0 title back then so.

Something I forgot to add - I have manually added the line 'effects' into my graphics.lua with tweaked values ( you can see this in the screenshot above in line 272) this should overcome the problem with contrails disappearing abruptly at certain distances, so if anyone is having that problem that can be tried out.

You can mostly edit this through the graphics.lua via the line that controls objects as discussed here by others and in other topics, many recommend 100,40000 or so to cope with dot vanishing issues but feel free to experiment.

An updated heatblur effect would be the way forward, the effect we see now is many years old and needs a revamp edit: also there's an ancient visual bug still present to this day that still affects the HUD of the aircraft you're sitting in, if you park or taxi close behind another jet all the HUD fonts wobble with the heat distortion.

Hi all, thought I'd get something going to see if we could get new visibility options to DCS World. The process of adding these settings are known by some users in the community but as of late I feel that these settings should be fully exposed and available for all users to enjoy in the base version DCS. Making the changes are pretty straightforward once you know where to look - firstly you make an edit to the optionsDb.lua file and create new entries that will be toggleable in the options screen Next you need to make some edits to the graphics.lua this time creating new entries for the new settings and their corresponding values under distancFactor Lastly an adjustment is made to the terrainoptions41.lua by increasing the size levels of the Instancer buffers, this is required to elimate any popping-in/out of scenery objects/forests etc (I just brute force the values by adding an extra 0 to each amount) Once the sim is fired up the new options are new available. Beware of making any edits to the terrainoptions41.lua, doing so with trigger Integrity Check fail on connecting to most online servers.

DCS falls under 'Digital Combat Simulator : Black Shark' as a profile in nVidia Profile Inspector (unsure if it applies to the current DCS which is DX 11.2 and this is an ancient DirectX 9 era version profile)

Amazing work to all involved with the work on the new fog/dust effects, they are truly fab well done ED! edit: wow also the rain/cloud effects look way better too, I love the shadowing and illumination effects.

You can mitigate the disappearing objects by making an edit to your terrainoptions41.lua - under the instancer section add an additional 0 to the buffer amounts (this breaks IC)

Editing the clutter does nothing beyond 1500m render distance, unless someone else can figure it out.
