  1. I've been trying to get up with all of the improvements that have been done to the hornet... My problem is that the screens load up with a shorter version and about 1/3 of the simulation missing... I have been trying several months to solve this but with health issues I'm not able to fix this

  2. I just complied a brand new build....  Yesterday things were actually fine...  The trouble started when I started to tweak the graphics..  The game now doesn't load in full screen. I tried by checking the full screen box... After the game loads again it only shows partial screen and graphics are enlarged...

I tried to readjust but it seems to be frozen in G SYNC...

I tried a fresh install but that didn't help.....

Does anyone know how to fix this ?????

  3. I'm personally quite pleased with the great job that Eagle had done with the carrier mod,, But the mission editor needs some real attention... The graphics engine is really showing it age...

This was developed about the same time as release of Lockon .....

The infantry is still the same Russian soldiers with very bland features and those ugly camo helmets.

The rendering of the flight onboard the carrier is top draw

Why not use the same method of the deck crew to simulate the enemy...

Also the buildings are really flat looking

Since the new map area includes that very troubled region It would be very cool to have some high resolution buildings... Also the enemy head gear should reflect the current dress ...

If this could be implemented into the game it will really give us some real ammunition in creating some outstanding videos

  4. I'm really pleased that we finally have the module... Its certainly going to be a lot of studying to become really proficient at it.. There's just one thing that I'm not to sure about is the quality of the graphics... I have a Nivea RTX 2080 OC but the graphics are not that clear... Is there a way to adjust the settings to achieve a better picture...

  5. More Choppers Desired

I've been creating some carrier based missions..

I've been been placing AH-1W's onboard the frigates...

I really think that AH-1W if it was made into a Marine or Navy Module it would really add to the simulation'''

At least that's my opinion.. (LOL)

  6. The throttle has "Off" at 0, "Idle" at 1, and the rest of the full range at >1 to 10.

To go from Off to Idle in the real Harrier you must simply push over the Idle-Stop. Think of it like a tiny wedge built into the throttle housing between Off and Idle - the upright end faces towards the Idle position and the ramp end points toward the Off position. There is a sliding plate on the throttle (the Finger Lift) aligned exactly with the wedge. If you try to pull the throttle back past the wedge, the Finger Lift plate hits the wedge and blocks the motion.

If the throttle is at Off, if you push the throttle forwards, the Finger Lift plate slides up and over the wedge and the throttle reaches Idle, but cannot return to Off without operating the Finger Lift, as per above.

To get past Idle there is a different mechanism, which is also a Stop, but electronically operated. When the brake is on, the Stop is in place and the throttle cannot be advanced from Idle. If the brake is off, the Stop is retracted, and the throttle is free to be pushed past Idle. If the throttle is not at Idle the brake switch is either blocked or automatically returns per servo to it off position. At any rate, you cannot set the brakes with the throttle not at Idle.

To emulate the push from Off to Idle, you need a button-press.

To emulate pulling from Idle to Off you need a button-press.

If you have an On/Off switch, you can configure it to emulate the throttle being at either Off or Idle.

You can use a different On/Off switch to emulate brake on or off.

If you have a Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle, you can put the indent toward the rear and calibrate it to only register axial motion to DCS from the indent to fully forward. If you pull the throttle back over the indent it activates button 29 (to be absolutely exact, the left throttle lever activates button 30 and the right throttle lever activates button 29). Then you can bind button 29 to Throttle Cutoff, and when the throttle if moved to Off the engine will turn off, and when moved to Idle, if the APU is turning the engine, the engine will start.

Thanks Guys .... All of your information was very helpful... I managed to use a toggle switch on my warthog throttle... That solved this problem, now I can get back to flying my Harrier (LOL)

  7. HI....I've been flying the Harrier since it was first released .. I've always had an issue with the throttles not functioning.. I did have this under control but I took a small brake from flying and just recently have gone back to mission building.... I 've forgotten the sequence to enable the throttle... Could some one help me with this

Maybe a key board button ?

  8. My hope is that the missions that took so much time to develop will still be accessible with the new module,,,

If not a I guess I can rewrite them...

My missions have all been written in Open Beta format, so I imagine that they can be accessed in the new Mod but that's just a wish (LOL)....

  9. You must be new here... although you aren't

give me a brake... This forum hosts a lot or animosity, and it hasn't changed in quite a few years... What"s wrong with posting something that I thought might be helpful to the community.. New here? Check out the year that I joined this forum.... I'm hardly new here guy

  10. Coming March 25

This game will unlock in approximately 12 days

    Pre-Purchase DCS: Supercarrier

Was just looking in the Steam website and they posted the above.. I don't think that after waiting all of this time, that it won't be long now....

  11. Why would the devs elaborate on the potential difficulties of some non existent feature/wishlist item? Would you not rather have them spend their time working on DCS?

I also don't get where people got the idea of aircraft spawning in the hangar and being towed onto the elevators. Detailed hangar deck and working elevators means just that, a good visual represntation but nothing more. Or do you think they didn't care to mention working pushback and plane spotting.

Come on... There are some of the developers answering other threads… So why not this one.. Could it be that they just don't have all of the answers yet. Still it would be nice if they would post once in a while... Maybe there still on vacation (LOL)

  12. What is exactly is so unclear about the upcoming supercarrier? ED has provided detailed feature list. Is spawning in the hangar and being towed onto the elevator on that list, no? Then it probably won't be a feature. Same thing goes for all the other "unanswered questions" on this subforum like will it steer automatically into the wind. If it's not on the feature list ED provided, then it won't be in, it's that simple I think

How do you actually see this as clear....And what list are you referring to ????

    I would like to see one of developers refer to these posts here...;

Isn't this the super carrier thread?

  13. I would really like to see some more updated data.. This whole thing is really too obscure,,, Were really being left a little to much in the dark... What were actually seeing is every one making wild guess as to what's going to actually happen …. I really think that this would be more professional if some of the developers would get more involved in presenting updates.. And maybe we could see a roadmap of all of the planed functions..

Anyway that's my view point.., I hope that none becomes offended...

  14. Yes, I’ve been here since the Flanker....I really had to wait a long time for the F/A-18. Now I’m waiting for the release of the Super Carrier.... once this is released this will really be a revelation of Marine Corps carrier duty in the Persian Gulf...

This has taking years to accomplish but will be outstanding....

We have come a long way from the old Flanker days...

  15. Does the A/V-8b offer nosewheel steering??

I just got the new joystick and I'm trying to configure everything

I don't see this in the options menu….

  16. I was reviewing a roadmap just recently.. I happened to see that one of the items listed was a further patch for Afghanistan.. This for me seems to be one that I would really want to experience... Imagine all of the missions that can be developed...

Now if ED can get the graphics to advance so that missions in Combined Arms would take on a more realistic vision... This would no drought be the best all around Game available..

Has anyone heard of any updates? …..

  17. I personally don’t like AMD.. As you can see from post my specs are i7 6700. My memory is 32 GB. And I just added a RTX 2080 GPU...

    That’s not listed ...

I’m quite aware that the weapons systems do take up quite a bit memory.. I don’t have any issues with this.. It’s the graphics of the combat personnel. There’s just not enough detail. I would like to see terrorist head gear along with western style uniforms..

If ED is able to portray deck crew high detail I should think that combat uniforms should be on the table as well

  18. I have a Cougar throttle with the Cubpilot HS upgrade that functions well. That said, if they do this, I hope they fix the nagging issues that required aftermarket fixes:

    1) Hall sensor for at least the throttle, plus...

    2) CRAPPY range and antenna pots. The antenna pot in particular, is notorious for losing its center detent.

    3) Misaligned speedbrake and dogfight switches. I got the aluminum housings for them years ago.

Fixing those issues, plus making it an individual USB standalone controller, would be my goals for such a unit. Switches on the base that mirror the F-16's ENG/JET START panel would be a plus, but not a necessity.

The one other thing that I'd REALLY love, though, would be a better/more realistic detent system, if one can be done without a throttle rail.

Actually I have this HOTAS as well. I've had it for a number of years.. Yes I did have similar issues as the ones that you described. I contacted thrustmaster and they were nice enough to furnish me with all of the switches that I requested for a minimal cost. (this was several years ago). and I bought the hall sensor mod from" IJ."

That cost about 400 USD. I cant remember the actual cost as this was allso some years ago. But anyway I really loved that setup. But I had a lot of trouble trying to install it into the new DCS so I bought a Warthog to replace it. So now I can't wait until the F/A-18 stick is released. Thrustmaster had a fantastic design idea with the ability to interchange the stick with other models. So after all of this time they have finally implemented this idea. It's now becoming a reality... WOW

  19. I've been trying to install Russian launchers in the editor but without success.

I was hoping to actually use the S300 but its not listed.. The S400 is actually the one that I really would like to install but I'm pretty sure that this one is still classified..

Does anyone have any information regarding this?

  20. Eagle Dynamics at Flight Sim Expo 2019

Eagle Dynamics at Flight Sim Expo

(For those curious, I will be attending FlightSimExpo 2019 in Orlando on June 7th. I’ll mostly be at the Thrustmaster booth to help demonstrate DCS: F/A-18C Hornet, but I also plan to show off some new modules coming later this year. I look forward to meeting many of you there!)

I'm betting that one of the new models will be the reworked carrier MOD
