  1. Problem resolved. Monitors weren't properaly aligned in nVidia app on w10, and top of left window was clipped so module manager was not visitble. This wasn't obvious but have now downloaded Persian Gulf and Wow! Thanks for help all. If your module manager disappears, check your nVidia app for screen alignment.
  2. No visible Module Manager in DCS 2.5+ No direct from ED
  3. No visible Module Manager in DCS 2.5+ No module manager appears. Game still wants me to BUY persian gulf map even tho Eagle Dynamics says I already have it. I don't have a module manager in DCS any more so I cannot download. Everything else seems OK. Thanks for trying.
  4. Hi, Sorry about this but I don't seem to have a 'module manager' appearing in DCS 2.5.4 the result being that I cannot see how to download the Persian Gulf map. Shop says I own it but... I'm struggling with all of this so any help/guidance much appreciated. Mike PC Win 8, Nvidia 1660 6 Gb, i7 4770K @ 3.5 GHz, 16 Gb RAM,
  5. Odd gazelle effects/bugs? New here so hope this is right place. Got new Gazelle 2 weeks ago and love it but..; Spawns Gazelle with no tail in next mission or two after crash Collective controls obscure ADF programming Textures float above ground after some minor collisions Cheers, Mike
  6. Hi Guys, 1) I love this sim, it's very close to my fantasy simulation system. I have CA, UH1, Mi8, KA50, A 10 and P 51 but every time I reload to accomodate a new version, I lose an activation. Some of my sims are down to 1 activation - there doesn't appear to be anything I can do and I'm starting to feel ripped off. I can't afford to keep buying new versions because the activation code system penalises me. Does anyone know how to deal with this issue so that I don't lose my sims because I install updates? Thanks
  7. You probably need the uninstall routine that wipes all the key data to allow you to reinstall everything
  8. Idea for difficult missions Hi and great mission you're producing. I thought it might be a good idea to have one or more 'news chopper' missions, in war zones or otherwise, in which various flying skills are going to be needed to both follow the action, and stay out of everyone else's way. just matching speeds with a truck is hard so producing footage (if that's possible) of battles would be very difficult I'd imagine. Anyway, keep up the good work, I'm loving it all! Cheers, Mike
  9. With the last 2 versions of 1.2.6 my downloads terminate early and I get a dialogue box saying that the user stopped the download. After that DCS wants to install the update. Once the update worked, on several occasions it failed and prevented the program from running. Only way I could escape that was to uninstall, clean the registry, then reinstall. Trouble is this seems to be slowly using up my authorisations. I have Huey, KA50 and Mi8 and love them all. Is there any way that I can get DCS World to recognise a faulty download so that I don't keep chewing up my authorisations? Any help appreciated. 10. 780 not yet delivering SLI on 3 screen system I have/had 2 780 OC units in my system. With standard frame rates at between 22 & 30 fps for a single card, I had hoped for better performance from 2 cards with SLI. Not the case I'm afraid, from 1 fps (!) to around 14 fps (depending on settings) performance wasa always worse with 2 cards SLI and a 3 screen system I had the whole lot exenstively tested by the local dealers who are pretty savvy, but nothing we could do improved performance. I handed one of the 780s back until such time as there's a workable solution. Good luck
  11. Virtual mud eh? Brilliant Mr Burns. Don't release the hounds yet though.
  12. As a 'becoming competent' Huey operator, I just got Mi-8 and after a few zany trips, finally got stable enough to try out Mission 1 - Documents. Got near the FARP in steep foothills and lost control of my descent, to crash hard on a slope. After several rolls creating massive clouds of dust while shedding rotor blade bits, I had a pilot's view like the inside of a tumble dryer. I crunched to a shuddering halt facing downhill. More groaning noises followed by a growing and grinding acceleration down the hill on the wheels, with me pushing the brakes and attempting to steer around obstacles. Ahead in a valley, a river! The rush downhill slowed as I braked and levelled out on the river bank. Hope turned to despair as the river picked up the trashed Mi-8 body and swept it grindingly downstream. Wow! What programming is that? DCS is a flight sim, which it does brilliantly. I can now report that the crash sim is equally exciting. With underlying programming like that, the designers deserve major accolades.
  13. When flying along the coast, the sea side 'reflects' weird and distorted shapes from the landward side. The water levels are higher in the reflections and everything is strangely distorted.
  14. I've done the same except I've got 2x780 nvidia OC cards with SLI. With Huey, when SLI is ON, dialogue box reports it's not operating and I'm at around 1 fps! When it's disabled I'm at around 24 fps. DayGlo says I can use an nvidia profile for Black Shark using nvidia Inspector. Does that apply to 1.2.6? And how do I use nVidia Inspector, where do I look etc. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, Mike 3 HD screens, i7 Intel processor, 16 Gb RAM.
  15. OK got it working Hi SkateZ, Got the file now - overcame senior moments somehow! If you know how to i.d. a DCS reg security file, I'd like to know but hopefully I've got this mother under control Cheers, Mike
  16. Yo SkateZ, Turns out that file downloads as an audio file, not a .reg. In any case, I understand that it's possible to clean up the registry manually with regedit.exe which is probably a good thing to know anyway. Do you happen to know how to i.d. the registry files that need to be cleaned out after an uninstall or where I can find that out please? Thanks for all your help so far. Cheers, Mike
  17. Thanks a lot SkateZilla Hi SZ, Thanks a lot for your assistance. I really appreciate it. Cheers, Mike
  18. OK this is all useful information and thanks to each one of you for providing it. SkateZilla: your ideas sound right here but I can't get that thread working. Either it's disappeared or is out of date or something. It reads as a Win Media file but reports that the file is missing (?). I'll keep trying but if you have any other ways of cleaning the registry they'd be handy. I've got to clean out Combined Ops, A10, KA50 and UH-1H. I can't event find 2 of them in the installed DCS pack. Anyway thanks for your help I have i7 3.5 GHz, Nvidia 787 3 Gb, 16 Gb DDR5 RAM.
  19. I have installed new mb/proc/gpu/ram and the addon sims don't like it one bit. They accept my codes,(2x each load) but all of them bitch about authorisation no matter what I do, and no matter what they do. Then DCS won't load except as a 3rd party display system...I can't fly anything. I've tried uninstall and reload DCS plus sims but same result. I like the Huey so much I'm prepared to buy it again but I probably need to uninstall the sims from DCS world if that's possible. (DCS 1.2.5 takes 8+ hours to download - I'm on wireless system) So my questions are: Can I uninstall the huey, A10, BS2 and CA and leave DCS world intact at 1.2.5 and if so how? The uninstaller currently takes everything out (I think) If I want to buy another Huey, is it going to work on the existing DCS World? It would be real nice to be able to access the Huey again and get back into the sim. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thanks
  20. Support that leads to more sales, income and profits Hi, This reduction in services is a great pity because if Eagle Dynamics were to make it easier for users to understand, acquire and use their simulators then it would be much easier to market and sell their systems. Understanding requires clear explanations Acquire means having complete files available that don't take hours or days to download (this doesn't mean big packaging costs, it just means having people with fast connections able to make copies of what would otherwise have to be downloaded Use means understanding how to hook up the products to various hardware sets, solve technical problems, and have overviews and training about how to operate the sim successfully. These sims would be worth a LOT more with these problems solved. Many people like the idea of being a chopper or fast mover pilot...it's possible to make those ideas come true and to bundle the sims with hardware to create total systems solutions...providing there is adequate support. To grow the market means to expand the appeal of these fine sims to a wider range of customers. That can be done, indeed much of the info is already available...it's just hidden in forums, on other web sites, and in the minds of the gurus. All it takes is to bring it together.
  21. Hotas Warthog a10 serial number RamboLAN Taranna, Tasmania, Australia Thrustmaster Warthog a10 HOTAS Serial #17929
  22. Thrustmaster a10 warthog Thanks Redfish. I assume it works! Appreciate the information. I know what to do. Cheers, Mike
  23. Request advise re thrustmaster a10 stick or what? Living in a remote area (low speed internet) and I have UH1 and BH2 and would like to upgrade from my X52 I cannot find out if DCS works on 64 bit specifically with a thrustmaster a10 hotas stick (I cannot afford a mistake here). Any help/advise greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mike
  24. You're only getting part of the story...check HERE http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42431 to see what's really happening. Particularly the excellent Expose Picture from PeterP
  25. It's not the 15 minute flight time that's really the issue. The problem as I see it, is when one arrives at combat only to be blasted out of the air. This means another 15 minutes all of which can add up to a LOT of flying but not much learning by surviving different scenarios. Perhaps an option that if shot down, one could start nearer the action?
