  1. Only thing I could do after weeks of toying with settings was to reinstall DCS. Guess what, it worked....super smooth and no stutters anywhere. DCS has some sort of bit rot going on that degrades the filesystem somehow is the only thing I can come up with.
  2. You will need to get a powered usb 3.0 hub and plug the x56 into that. For some reason most motherboards usb ports cannot sustain the voltage at the level the x56 needs and it causes input ghosting.
  3. This HP Reverb is the latest gen and works great. Just over a month old and have all original materials. Never used the hand controllers. Priorities have changed and I don't have the time to dedicate to PC gaming. I paid $600 before Christmas, selling for $425 shipped in the US
  4. I dont have a top of the line PC and I run a HP reverb without issues, looks great and runs smooth in sp and mp. Only thing I can think of is you all that have horrible issues just toss more and more hardware at the problem and dont understand how to tune your rig for VR. In case anyone asks I'm running a Ryzen 3600 , 2070 super, 32gb pc3600 ram with the reverb.
  5. Just got a chance to play around with my Reverb and coming from the O+, holy crap the clarity is amazing! The FOV is a bit smaller, but easily worth it for the clarity. I can see everything clear!
  6. I got mine direct from HP. It was on sale for $549. I don't see the regular one on their site anymore, only the pro edition. They had the Reverb on sale black friday for $499 but I missed that.
  7. Thats for all the input guys. I pulled the trigger on a Reverb and it should be here by Monday. Thanks!
  8. Short answer = NO. Medium answer = Same money will get you a Ryzen 5 3600 and DDR4 Longer answer = You may be ok with a lower end HMD, What HMD do you plan on running? If you must stick with intel save up for a newer gen, otherwise ditch the old z97 mobo and DDR3, they suck. For the same money you can get into a Ryzen 5 3600, which will smoke the old 4790k.
  9. I gave my O+ to my son for DCS and am looking at getting another one for myself. Considering a Reverb or Rift S but am on the fence with the Reverb with my specs. I can easily hold 60+ fps on my O+ with this rig after some tweaking so I figured I would see if anyone has a similar setup and has any observations. My PC: Ryzen 5 3600 @ 4.4Ghz, 2070 Super OC'd, 32Gb PC3600 ddr4, 970 evo ssd Thanks.
  10. Amazon had a few open box O+ last night for 184 shipped with prime. I snagged another.
  11. I finally got the media guys at my office to let me set up DCS in their lab. They currently have the XTAL, VIVE Pro, Index, and Reverb to play with. I spent a solid day this weekend playing around on those rigs and the only thing I liked on the XTAL was the FOV. The Reverb kicks the shit out of it in price/performance and honestly has better visual clarity in DCS. It convinced me enough to order a HP Reverb and replace my O+.
