  1. pretty leng skin mate! ! Greats tuff. Yeah bro! I saw those posts in the screenshots thread as well and I was like ayo wot did they add it but then I asked around and apparently its a mod. Now, I literally have no idea of how mods work so IDK how to do it. Someone did mention about how it could have been a custom cfg option or something like dat. I rlly wanna find out how to remove the TCS and the Fuel pylons. But yeh, hopefully HB manage to add an option to remove the TCS for the early -As.
  2. ayo hold up, I am actually curious to know weather they are gonna make the TCS pod removable? Is this something they have said WILL happen?, or is it something they are considering?
  3. oh man, I really wanna find out how to do that cos it looks so neat! Like to simulate early tomcats!
  4. How did you get rid of the TCS and fuel tank pylons?
  5. Nah so that chin pod in the video is the ALR-23 IRST which is different to the TCS which came later in the F-14 career.
  6. It would be interesting to know whether the shots of the F-14s flying in this vid are of them actually flying Top Cover for Op Frequent Wind or not.
  7. I found a cool vid on YT that is full of some good footage of the first Tomcat deployment off the Enterprise.
  8. Bruv chill out. No one here is against u.
  9. ye mate, totally understandable. Theyre just 2 pieces of aluminium.
  10. Bruv they are 2 pieces of metal on the bottom of the nacelles. Its not that peak, I wish that we could remove them as an option but Heatblur mandem already made the model.
  11. Oh dude, the Gunfighters livery from the 70s for the F-14 is one of my favourites. Its a really cool squadron and contributed to the Tomcat community so much by helping train pilots for the fleet.
  12. For me, as far as the early Tomcats are concerned the thing that 'makes them' for me is that ALQ-100 chipped under the nose with an absence of the TCS. However, back when the HB F-14 was first announced I was always hoping the F-14A we were going to get in DCS was the first cruise model ya know with the IRST. Having the TCS actually lets me personally somewhat simulate the First Cruise Tomcats in 1974. I just imagine that the TCS is the IRST thingy cos they look kinda similar and I use the appropriate VF-1 and 2 skins which are fantastic (By @_YaeSakura_) so im happy either way. Even if they decide not to allow to switch out the TCS for the ALQ-100 for the -135GR cos i understand its lower priority compared to other stuff I can still fly my representation of an early F-14A. Plus, just a point of curiosity on my part: HB if u ever wanted to model the ALR-23 IRST, is there even enough data about it? How did it actually work? Was it like a thermal NVG scope or something?
  13. Bro why they change beavertail for? Like why did they remove the panel thingys on the side?
  14. bro ill be real wit u, I just wanna be able to represent the 81 Sidra shootdown Tomcats. So anything that contributes to that to me is really cool
  15. @IronMike My primary question regarding the early Tomcats is with the options presented will the -135 Early have the visual option to switch out the TCS Pod for just the ALQ-100 nub under the nose to recreate an 'early' look.
  16. Will the IIRAF F-14 still be able to equip fuel tanks?
  17. Early 70s F-14s had that chin pod right? It looked a bit like a TCS but i'm not sure.
  18. As far as TCS options go, I am hoping that there will be some way to simulate an early USN -A and by early I mean with the ALQ-100 pod slick, no TCS, no Bullet fairing. I know In theory that the -95GR (IIRAF) That HB is working on could be used for this and this comes with its own set of compromises in terms of simulating a early USN -A. The fuel tanks won't be usable and theres no ACLS. However these are minor points (I dont mean to sound ungrateful). i originally thought that it may have been better to have a USN 95-GR that has the options to remove fuel tank pylons and disable ACLS? Cos then within that, Iranian and USN -95GRs could be simulated. However, what I have just said comes with its own set of issues as this USN -95GR would leave the REDFOR without an F-14. Maybe, a compromise could be to allow the -135-GR (Early) to have a TCS option/feature where it would be possible to only have the ALQ-100 sensor mounted to the nose without the actual TCS/Bullet fairing, this way the simulation of an 'Early (1970s)' USN -A becomes possible.
