  1. Winwing does ship from inside Europe now. It's the reason I recently bought their F-16 throttle and it was shipped from Germany. Free shipping, too. No big complaints about the throttle (or software) for now, except the assembly (with the combination of F-16 and Orion 2) being a real PITA, including mounting it to a chair. Wouldn't have had such trouble with the F-18 grip, I guess (but who wants that when you can get the 16 grip? ).
  2. Interesting! Thanks for the advice. What have you set your deadzone at in DCS?
  3. What I meant is that (as far as I know) there is no curve in the real plane, so we should not use a curve with the fssb - especially as it such a high grade controller. You gain precision by increasing the maximum pull force. If your mounting solution allows for it put it as high as possible while trying to achieve the roll/pull ratio Deano87 provided. A curve will only confuse. Apart from any (possible) in-development inaccuracies of the Viper implementation in DCS, these settings should be all you need to get accurate controlls. Any other control adjustments in DCS would be unrealistic (and probably not useful). NASA pitch same as roll. Try 133% it should serve you well in my opinion.
  4. Angle adjust -12° NASA Roll sensibility = 133% and the same for pitch (if you don't like it then try 110-133%). I've got roll sensibility at 4,33lb and pitch sens at 8,5lb and it's working pretty well for me. Should be around the same ratio as in the real plane give or take. I used a setting by another user who tried to get near the real ratio and adjusted it slightly for my liking. It's a pretty good force to pull. If you're setting the stick to be too sensitive, you are sacrificing fine control. If you want to pull hard on the stick you will have to work for it. Additionally that setting depends on your mounting surface. I'm getting slight movement of the mount already using this amount of force. BFA roll and pitch to minimum as recommended in the manual (if you have not read it yet, do so. It's quite detailed) - it's like a dead zone so just resting your hand on the stick does not give "ghost" inputs. Personal preference but my warning sound level is 90%. If you're trying to keep the realism you should not use any curves in DCS or otherwise. The plane's designers put some thought into that decision and I really think it's better to keep it linear. If you need different sensitivity the plane will automatically provide that (like in landing or air to air refueling modes).
  5. Just taking a guess, but it could be that you're assuming you entered STT when you are actually in SAM. If you place the attack radar cursor over the brick and press TMS UP once, you will enter situational awareness mode (SAM), which is something like LTWS in the Hornet. From that point you can enter STT by pressing TMS UP a second time. So make sure to enter STT by pressing TMS UP twice on the brick. I'd suggest rewatching this vid from Wags about the radar RWS and basic AIM-120 employment to make sure you're not missing something. I hope it's helpful
  6. There are custom servers with naked spawn now, and it really does help with the gen gameplay. Don't expect to be enlightened on the public servers 213, there are a lot of new players and people who aren't interested in teamwork around. Because this game is more than twitch and "simple" strategies (compared to the average shooter), it's hard to get the full teamplay experience with an uncoordinated team or if they all just start trading bases going team deathmatch.
  7. GOTTA GO FAST :worthy:
  8. Well I guess it's safer than being aboard an airplane where one tiny malfunction decides whether you land safely or splat on the ground... Or burn alive :smoke:
  9. If you're happy and you know it, it's a sin :music_whistling:
  10. You just won this thread :D
  11. I'm gonna buy a CBU-103 conversion kit, got a few of them old CBU-87 collecting dust under my bed. Heck, I'm just gonna buy me a few fresh ones they're dirt cheap  And of course one kitchen sink, you can never have enough kitchen sinks...
  12. And if he didn't barricade himself it would mean he is innocent? Not much of a point in doing it anyway, as they had enough time to cut through to him ...
  13. LOL there's some weird stuff out there
  14. It's really amazing. Of course it's hard to judge how fast he was going, but it seems the aircraft itself absorbed most of the impact. Still shows how fragile yet sturdy humans are  Plus the fact that he absorbed the impact in a upright sitting position which probably saved his life (comparison to ejection seats, when you're not seated perfectly the enormous acceleration would probably snap your spine).
  15. That's how it's supposed to be. If u want to fly the corresponding aircraft, you'll have to start the specific sim e.g. start BS to fly the KA-50
  16. In addition to Eddie's comment, the nosewheel is "unlocked" when nosewheel steering is disabled. It will follow the aircrafts movement.
  17. Why do ppl always upload DCS videos without putting DCS in the title or description? It makes finding real A10C footage so much more difficult :noexpression: edit: I see it's in the tags, still would prefer the DCS placed more obvious as I'm lazy :P
  18. why are you believing that it's a sad death for a hog? such a powerful and ugly machine only deserves to die an honorful death in a battle with a ugly big machine... the only thing sad is that she couldnt defend herself with her mighty GAU ;)
  19. Are non-guided. Drop them like dumb bombs. The cbu-105 on the other hand is a cbu-97 with a Wind Corrected Munition Dispenser (WCMD) tail kit installed. Regarding the Gau-8, try to put the gun pipper in front of the target and attack it in a relatively steep dive. Fire within 0.7-0.5 nm seperation from the tank to ensure good hits, it's quite close
  20. Apart from the long term health risk by ingestion, the DU dust created on impact is actually deadly because it ignites (it's pyrophoric), creating a nice vacuum inside the armored vehicle. Brains is not happy about vacuum
  21. You can't turn it back on and yes, depending on where the bullet hits it happens to everyone. The electronics are very sensitive as they're not armored. When one line of the corresponding MFD gets damaged, the MFD is gone. Now, when one MFD is out, that's no mission kill! You still have full functionality with one MFD (you can program which different sub-menus you want to have available for use)
  22. Hog pilots would probably just leave their business in the pit, greasemonkeys will have to clean it up :D
