  1. Convoy Hunt by Wichid123 with quite good expert knowlodge but far from error-free ;)
  2. :thumbup: for the excellent video. Looking forward to part II.
  3. I love this more. I know GA has coordinated every picture in the vid with the notes of his choice of music. And probably 23 years he has worked on it. But then came this guy. After 10 minutes of consideration he put another soundtrack in there. And it worked better. A miracle ;)
  4. Interesting as always. Thxs for the vids. A direct relation to reality is established ;)
  5. What we got here in this mission - if i know correctly - is a 2 ship-flight of Ka-50s are ordered to clear this city under time pressure from enemy-assets, knowing that there is one or more serious AAA-threats in there. Just make a quick look at a Briefing(topics) for a real Search&Rescue mission ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1127142&postcount=29 ) and then you know what i mean. The ka-50 is outdated and cannot compete with the today's military systems. He needs more than others ;) every aspect of an operation. Why not let the convoy communicate their waypoints, threats, routeselection, formation, status, assetquantity, time to possible first contact, convoyspeed, clearance/green light, etc. etc. etc. ? All of this is possible with the MEdtor.
  6. I am looking forward to this. I am looking for - realistic weather settings - a briefing with a lot details and pictures in it - and a lot of audio-files for immersion-reasons (random radio-chatter etc.) - and missions which are bundled as a campaign (f you have problems with that i can do that) Maybe me or others can help you. One of us could make one part/side/aspect (blue or red) of the mission. Then i can merge the created missions to one mission. So at your first flight you really dont know in which way the other side will react. So at your first flight (as mission-designer) you have really fears in your eyes (; Also a good idea is the voice-acting from other members. Send me a post if you are interested in those things.

  8. Nice flying. The shots are a bit too low. In that situation i would set the target-cursor between hull and turret. And by the way during a rocket-run use your laser for an exact calculation of the impact point of your rockets: - put the laser on - laser your target-point - when the target-point and the virtuell recticle in the HUD is lined up then shoot. Avoid at this momemt any lateral and any height deviations.
  9. Togehter with your AI you can fly an attack-run this way ... - give the AI the order "wingman x, engage aircraft" - now the AI is in the lead (which is for a variety of reasons not the best of all options http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44561&highlight=dumb ); then manually stick close to the AI, then manually go in the desired formation with the AI and then execute in close formation with the AI the attack-run against the enemy-aircraft. Other than that, there is no way to order AIs against aircrafts with the AI in close formation, especially not with the ingame communication menue.
  10. In many many situations (for example during an entire nighttime) you also cannot lock something. Do not let this prevent you form firing missiles. The procedure is ... - Lase your target. - Wait for weapons-free clearence (wait for "C" on the HUD) or switch to manual weapon-mode - Fire - >>>> During flight-time of the missile constantly manually adjust your cursor so that the cursor points on the target. <<<<< - Wait for impact.
  11. W We have been holding the same type of debate for some time now which is becoming quite depressing now. Look at http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49752&highlight=FLIR and begin with post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=829149&postcount=4 (;
  12. Ok, thxs for the info. *.miz-Files are packed files. You have to open it with unpack-tools like winrar or winzip. The content of *.miz-files is not encrypted.
  13. I see no helicopters on the picture. Normaly in this mission (Bridge over the river Inguri) there are always 2 or more ka-50-helicopters flying. I asked because i saw a ka-50-guy at the GCI-weekend that killed 12 fixed-wing players (3 A-10A, 5 MIG-29G, 3 F-15C) in one(!) session. The poor guys which were shot down were /his Air-to-Air kills .. (; Logdetails from the session here: http://www.51st.org/stats/eventlog.php?pilot=Wildman%205-1&starttime=2011-02-20%2020:17:05&endtime=2011-02-20%2023:23:38 ) He infiltrated the airport Sochi-Adler with his ka-50 and had a field day. He has extraordinary flying skills thats for sure (i saw him also yesterday with an fantastic auto-rotation maneuver). But later i found that he is cheating. He is cheating with a different tree-layout than the original one or a normal one. For him trees are not present (or the tree-population is thinned out or whatever). He dont need to pop up when engaging targets through trees, he can see and shoot targets through trees. But back to GCI-weekend: can the GCI-Controller also recognizes helicopters on his traffic-controll-screen or only fast-flying fixed-wing-aircrafts?
  14. You like fantasy? This is a simulation of real things.
  15. Open your mission-file Mission.miz. Drag the file "mission" (which is in the file Mission.miz) into a folder. Open the file "mission" with a proper text editor(Notepad++=) and change the payload of your Ka-50(or a AI-KA-50) of the 2 inner pylons (pylon 2 and pylon 3) to... CLSID = "B_8V20A_OM", Save and close the file "mission". Drag the changed "mission" file in your Mission.miz back. Load your Mission.miz with the DCS-BS-Missioneditor. Go to the Ka-50 with the S-8OM-Rockets. Open the payload. Give the new payload a proper name. The new payload is stored and will remain forever. edit : typo
  16. How should a pilot communicate with the GCI? How should a travelling position look like ?!?
  17. A brief testtrack of a 2-ship-flight of the bravo-group, assisted by other russian aircrafts. http://rapidshare.com/files/447995334/OPERATION_FACET_v03.miz.trk (12 MB, very first playing). Dont know if you have done this but i suggest to play the siren-sound only in combination of populated areas (cities, villages) and aircraft-altitude < 200 m AG (can be done with the triggers). IMO the repetitive radio-chatter must be rarer. Escpecially one audio-file is played too often. I turned down some big audio wav-files into mono + 8-bitprocessing. This reduces the whole miz-file into a 3.5 MB file (for details see track-file). Your setting is winter-season, your daylight environment (sunrise/sunset/duration of the day etc.) is midsummer (24.06.xxxx). So to get a more realistc winterdaylight feeling with sunrise late and sunset early i suggest to set the "starttime" in the miz-file "mission" to something like ((170days * 24hours * 3600sec) + (6hours * 3600sec)) = 14709600 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< ca. 20 Nov. 0600hrs
  18. New download link: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/24141/ (80MB, v1.02 compatible, 18 SP-missions, 7 MP-missions, 5 tracks from MP-sessions) I have some questions regarding this new package though. - why dublicate copies in the MP-section such as 05_venganza_MP.rar 05_venganza_MP.miz, both with same file-sizes? - Are all the SP-missions thematically connected like in a campaign? It seems so but i could be wrong. - If the missions are connected what is the place of the mission "basenorte.miz" in that scenario?
  19. Thanks for the GOW-vids. First minutes the smoothness and low-level-approach looks very perfect. But dont know the mission and therefore also dont know the required tactic for this mission.
